Faceups Faceup Progress, Before to After!

Jun 25, 2021

    1. Hi hi! I haven't done a faceup since my first kind of botched attempt over three years ago, but my fire was re-kindled when I got my Harucasting Maji in the mail at the beginning of the month!

This is how she looked out of the box. I felt bad taking all of this off because it was such a cute faceup, but it didn't match the character at all :(

      Bare-faced baby!

      This was my mid-way point, but I ended up erasing everything here because I was getting extremely frustrated with my gouache paints, and decided to stick to only my watercolor pencils...I unfortunately didn't take a photo of the second go-around, so this will have to do ^^;

      Nearly done!

Aaaaand finished! I didn't have any extra strings of eyelashes on hand, so I ended up using the small singular lashes I use for myself...they look pretty nice, but god, getting them on and KEEPING them on was a pain. I might switch them later, but for now it works!

Nowhere near perfect, but I got the desired effect I was goin' for, and I'll call that a win! I love her to death <3

    2. Oh that looks lovely, especially for the lack of practice!!!
Lots of personality, but I feel so sorry for her!

    3. That is a very solid second face up. Love the eyebrow texture and how expressive the shaping and placement is. Well done!

    4. The sculpt is already super cute but the faceup you gave her makes her even cuter! I love how you did her lips. I hope this inspires you to keep doing more faceups, because you really have a knack for them.

    5. She's a cutie! I love how expressive she is and how full her lips are!~ Great job! <3

    6. How cute! I love the dimension you gave the lips. I do have a few tips for eyelash application, if you're interested! I use curved tweezers to apply the glue to the upper eyelid first, then wait a little bit for the glue to get tacky. Then, using the same tweezers, drag the center of the lash strip through the glue, before gently navigating the ends of the strip into place. Once everything's lined up properly, gently press upwards on all sides of the lash strip to make sure everything is saturated with glue and neatly in place.

    7. That is an excellent faceup! I love the depth of expression.

    8. Oh my god, thank you!!! I felt really good about it, all things considered!
No need to feel sorry, she's just perpetually disgruntled--frown lines are her friend!

I appreciate that so very much, thank you!!

The lips are actually my favorite part, I labored over them for waaaayyyy too long :sweatBut it was worth it! Waiting on some gloss to shine them up! And thank you so much, that means a lot! I have a bare Feeple65 sleeping Ingrid head I'm working up the nerve to get crackin' on!

Thank you thank you very much!!!! And gosh, I love her so much.

You know, that actually makes much more sense than what I was doing :nowords: I was taking my makeup logic and applying the glue to the lash and just sticking it to the lid, and it was the worst thing in the world......will take that into account for next time LOL

      Thank you so so much!!
