Aesthetics Faceup Practices (FairyLand Feeple60 Juri)

Feb 27, 2014

    1. Hello :) After the first faceup I've done on Polter (IOS Chaos), I really wanted to do more.
I just received the head. This floating head called Dawerent will be my practice head from now on. I want to try different concept and theme every time.
He doesn't have eyes and hair that fit him, so I used whatever I have.

This is the faceup I did today. It is a draft and testing for my other head (character) that is arriving to see if it works.
I made mistakes and one of them is drawing on the sealant before it was dry enough. But I learned my lesson now.

    2. I love the blue. His lips are my favorite thing about him. Great job!

    3. Thank you very much Siccah! :) I like doing the lips!

Here is an update for today. I've added more details, shading and some small accent of pink over the lips and eyes. It made him look more colourful.

    4. Faceup No.2 on Dawerent. I'm trying different things this time and did not use acrylic paint.

    5. Hello! :) you have improved very much, I especially like how you paint your dolls eyebrows! In the first faceup, I think the bottom lashes are maybe a little too thick, and they could maybe be painted a little more even. I really like the eyeshadow though, it looks very vibrant and beautiful.

The second faceup is great, I LOVE those eyebrows, they are so even and symmetric! My only suggestion is to do the bottom lashes maybe a little bit longer and more "soft", maybe put a little bit pastel chalk over them?

And sorry for my bad english!

    6. Thank you so much Flimey for your feedback on both! ^_^ I will keep in mind about the bottom lashes.
I just added a stronger and longer lower eyelashes.

    8. Hiya! I am here to critique your recent face ups!

No.3 - I love the colours on this so so much, but I feel you need more skin shading, lightly perhaps contour around the nose in grey seeing as it's a WS head. Really lovely though!

No.4 - I love the lips and the shading. I can't really give any bad points about this one - except perhaps that the two sides don't really match, colour wise? That's about it really!

No.5 - This is a really lovely and striking face up. However, some of the lines look a bit jagged and under confident in the strokes , and could do with neatening up a bit. I'm not sure if it's just me, but the left eyebrow also seems to be shorter than the other. I feel a bit like the eye lashes are off as there are lots of bottom eyelashes but none for the top, but I guess if you're just doing tests you might not want to waste eyelashes on test face-ups. I guess you could lessen the amount of bottom lashes in this one.

No.6 - This is definitely my favourite face up. Lovely shading, colours and colour palette. Great job!

    9. :) Hello! Thank you so much for the critique! I think all the details you've pointed out are really useful and clear. I definitely will keep those in mind and try to improve on the future ones! And yea, halfway through No.3, I decided not to use eyelashes because I will be wiping it quite often. I will lessen the bottom eyelashes to balance it out.

Thank you again for your time!

    10. Hiya! ( BTW, we're in the same Facebook group. I'm Robin! :) ) I'm glad I did well, phew! I'm always worried I can come off a bit harsh with my critiques. >< And that sounds fair! No problem. If I see you post any more on here, I can also post more critiques if you want me to~ <3

    11. Ah! I figured out later because I recognize your name from Tumblr xD Hello Robin! Thank you very much again ^_^ And your critique is very good!

I shell my long-standing character yesterday when my Weepydoll Siho head arrived! He's so adorable :) He is a mischievous little kid, so I gave him the appropriate look.
