Shipping Extra shipping costs with Luts?

    1. I'm currently waiting on a fairly large order from Luts. Ended up paying $380 in shipping costs by the time I was at check out. Recently I've been seeing that they've started charging an extra shipping fee when the orders are ready to ship because shipping has gone up quite a bit in Korea. I understand why they've have to do this so I'm not mad. I am however worried about how much I'll need to set aside for when my order is ready to ship. They said that they couldn't give me an estimate because my order is still in progress. So I'm wondering, if you've been charged an extra shipping fee from Luts about how much has it cost?

    2. Yes, I bought a bunch of accessories in their sale and had to pay extra shipping. It seems that they're having to use EMS's premium service to ship to certain countries which is stupid expensive. I also had the same thing with Little Monica when I bought a doll in their winter sale as the cheaper services from Korea aren't currently available. I can't say how much it'll be, Luts was $15 more (on top of the original $38) and Little Monica was $33 more. I'm assuming it's because the doll was heavier and weight is the thing that pushes up the price the most. On the plus side, I received those orders really fast which was nice :lol:

    3. @Epicari I hope I don't end up having to pay more than $380 again. I mean, I can't imagine the extra would end up being MORE than the original shipping to begin with. x_X

    4. I think BJDivas does order services for Luts. Have you thought about seeing if you can purchase through them? I know you've already placed the order...

    5. @ashbelEro I had thought about it before I made the order. But at the time they were already dealing with a lot I thought it would be better to order directly through Luts instead.

    6. @TokyoLynn That sucks. I remember getting raked over the coals for shipping when I bought my first doll ten years ago - a doll that was like, $300 something ended up being $600. Honestly that’s why I went to Alice’s this time.

      I really don’t know what you can do about the extra cost. It shouldn’t be impossible to deal with, but they should be understanding at least.

    7. @ashbelEro I'm not too worried about having to pay them, I'm just hoping that they won't end up being over $1,000 as that is my limit. And yikes! What company charged you the entire price of the doll for shipping?! That sounds skeevy as heck.

    8. That was Luts in 2009. I think the whole package was like 400 something for my Kid Delf, faceup, eyes, wig, and clothes. I didn’t get much. But I remember it being $600 after shipping, cuz it was everything I got for graduation.

    9. It should not be too much. I originally had to pay 117 $ for shipping when i ordered directly from luts in december. A few days ago i got the mail with the extra cost: 54 $ ... thats fine i think

    13. I bought a Mars and shipping was $160 on checkout the other day. Now I'm worried I'm gonna get stung twice, extra shipping cost, and the UK charges customs fees. Kinda makes me feel a bit sick thinking about it.

    15. Ok so its not just me, because I saw the shipping fee of $224 for a Super Senior Delf and nearly had a heart attack. I am getting back into the hobby but I remember in like 2009 when it wasnt more than $50-80 to ship via EMS. I got two dolls and it was only $80 shipping :(
