Has anyone else had issues with expedited parcel from Canada to the USA? I know how long it says it should take on the Canada Post website, but how long has it taken you to get your package? Mine will have been shipped 3 weeks ago this thrusday, and I have no idea where it is at. There is no updated tracking, it just says it left Canada on Feb 7th, 2009. Now, I have already contacted USPS and the seller (the seller by the way has been super awesome and great to deal with ^_^) and they are going to contact Canada Post so they can start and investigation into where the package might have gone. I am actually pretty sad about the whole thing as I really am worried about my doll. My questions to you are... *How long has it taken you to get your packages from Canada that are shipped expedited parcel? *Do you think it is normal for a package to longer than the 8 days stated to arrive? *If you have had a package lost using this method, how did Canada Post or USPS help you with your situation and how did it all turn out?
Mmm, I sent Expedited parcel from Canada to the US once or twice. The first time, it was just an outfit, I'm pretty sure took about 2 weeks, almost three. :/;; At least that stuff's tracked, it did of course make it safely in the end. I never contacted Canada Post about it though.
Post Canada is the pits! I sent a head for a faceup, expedited and it took a month. After three weeks with no movement on the update page, I made a formal request to Post Canada to find the package and all of a sudden it got delivered. They are notorious for just forgetting a package on the shelf once in a while. Make sure you lodge a formal complaint to get them to find your package if it takes an inordinate amount of time. They will ask you the name, address and phone number of the person you are sending it to, they will want to talk to them.
Well thank makes me feel to better to know something was shipped this method and took almost 3 weeks to arrive...it gives me hope that my boy might pop up soon. Oh my...well the seller (who is sending it to me from Canada) has made an inquiry. Hopefully my boy will get delivered as well now that someone in the post is looking into it. *crosses fingers* Thank you both for posting! Just knowing others have dealt with a similar situation helps a lot.
I was in the same boat, I used Expedited Parcel to the USA and the buyer and I was getting worried because the parcel was supposed to get to her within 10 days but it never arrived. The tracking number did not move so I was worried I called Canada Post and they told me to wait ( It was the third week ) at the fourth or fifth it finally arrived to the buyer -_-"
I've sent things by Expidited and had them show up well beyond the 'time estimate' on the Canada Post website. I always warn people I sell to just in case, since it appears to be incredibly random. Sometimes the packages come incredibly fast and sometimes it's just...unbelievably slow. Good luck in getting the doll! I'm sure it's probably just behind schedule.
I've sent one thing as an Expedited Parcel. It took 2 weeks to arrive, which is how long it would have taken if I had sent it regular mail. Canada Post is really dumb ._. Hopefully your doll arrives soon!
Yes, more than 3 weeks without a sound or an update is TOTALLY common. I have done it twice, it was a pain both times. Due to that reason, I really prefer not to ship via this method at all.
Thank you everyone for your replies. He arrived today! Funny, the day after we call Post Canada (or Canada Post) he arrives lol. Well, at least now I know what to expect when I use that shipping method next. Maybe some other worried soul will stumble here and find something helpful as well. ^_^
Canada Post as well as USPS aren't consistent... I always ship priority and it gets there with one dya (either in advance or late). I think the place where packages move the slowest is customs. You know when it gets in... but darn if you know when it's coming out. Also when a package as changed borders the updates are done first on the receiving country. If by example I ship something in California... As soon as it crosses the borden it isn't under Canada Post's jurisdiction but rather under USPS jurisdiction. so be careful just who you blame... as soon as it leaves Canada... the people responsible for delivering it are no longer Canada Post but USPS. with all the added security checks on packages now... even from friendly countries... of course the mail is going to be slow. I am not sure but wasn't there a Postmaster who lost his job because he held up forreign mail and packages and gave priority to US mail? I think it happened 2 or 3 years ago... there was a news segment in Toronto about it that was title: Ever wonder why mail takes so much time to be delivered? The reporter concluded saying he wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't the only one to do that. The Postmaster sad he was doing it because he was patriotic... heh... yeah...
I agree. I think that is is probably USPS and customs faults (if you can really lay blame, which I am not sure you can). Since the package did leave Canada on the 7th, I think it is USPS and cutoms that were the hold up. Silly how most of my dolls never sit in US customs, but this guy with this shipping method did. Well thank goodness he is here now! ^_^
