Hello! Here’s a short version of my unboxing of the Ex Machina 3.0 head, for anyone who’s curious. Summary: Ordered: 31.03.2025 Arrived: 17.09.2025 Dealer: Dolly Planet -/- The package was simple and surprisingly lightweight, but secure. Inside was the head and two small plastic bags: one with an S-hook, and another with a few parts I didn’t recognize at first. I had expected a certificate, but unfortunately, no papers came with the head. Surprisingly, the skull part look like it was already painted, which was a nice touch. Maybe it’s just a 3d print resin color? The head has a bit of staining on the inside from the paint, but it’s nothing major. I will remove it later. Head itself. This eye is glued in, so I’m not sure if I’ll change it. I’ve figured out the purpose of the small black details: they hold the head in an open position, and they look really cool. The head itself is resin cast, and the other parts, including the teeth, are 3D printed. The white is quite bright, and the details are excellent. The eye setup is a bit tricky because of the inner structure: there isn’t much room to improvise. You’ll want to use low-dome eyes for this head. He’s an interesting guy and will be part of a long project. Thanks for reading!
Congratulations on receiving him. D.Lace makes very cool modular designs and it's great to see 'behind the scenes' about how everything works. This is definitely an interesting sculpt and I look forward to seeing what you do with him. Good luck with this project, and thanks for sharing this box opening!
Thank you! This is definitely a unique piece of art, and I was really impressed when I saw it. I wish the head were a bit smaller. I’ll need to rethink my project a little, but I hope it will work out.
