Ever wanted a doll / concept and in the end decided to do it yourself?

I had a couple of free heads I received as part of a Luts promotion. I had no plans to put them on bodies and I don’t do floating heads, but I didn’t want to waste them. So I came up with the idea to somehow display them as hat models for my wonderful collection of hats by a very talented hat-maker on Etsy. I looked at resin sculpted bodices of course, but they were too fancy for what I wanted and too expensive. So I just put together a wooden dowel atop a circle of wood, painted it black, and voila!

 

My skeleton girl Yuri. She was a Halloween prop skeleton that I worked on her face and added a wig an clothes to. She can't stand on her own, but she is fully jointed. I might do more with her face later. She is in the bottom left corner with some of my YOSD's.
