Shipping EMS unsuccessful delivery from dollmore... what to do?

May 7, 2010

    1. I'm glad I checked the tracking info, they apparently tried to deliver yesterday and the entry says "Unsuccessful delivery", the date/time, my zip code, "Reason : Other", and that's all. I live in an apartment building, and the office takes packages for me and everyone else here (though UPS will try to deliver to door and then default to leaving a slip in the mail slot downstairs, with the package safely delivered to the office). I didn't expect to have a problem... and the lady I just talked to in the office doesn't know why there would be a problem either.

      Is there any easy way to figure out where my package actually is? I tried the email submission form on the Korean EMS site (most of which I can't read), and I hope it went through but I have no idea what the little OK-button message said after hitting submit. Should I call around my local post offices or something? Ergh... now I'm wondering what will happen when my actual dolls show up...

    2. When my Kid Delf was being delivered, we missed it because of work and school, but we were able to pick it up from the post office. Try going there and if they're closed, see if it gets delivered tomorrow.
      Odds are, they just missed you when you weren't home or whatnot.

    3. Okay good, I'm not sure which local post office is mine, though I guess calling around would find it. Strange that it wasn't left at the office, though. It's after hours now, I'll try tomorrow. Thanks. ^__^

    4. Go to the USPS website www.usps.com I believe they have one of those Live question boxes. They can look your post office up by zip code. Sometimes those try to deliver notices are wrong and they never tried to deliver anything. I have had that message on more then on occasion with the package showing up a few days later. Or they will leave that pink slip. My favorite is when they never knock, and just leave the note. I have been home several times and went to walk out the front door to find a slip when I was home the whole time.

    5. Yeah, the weird part is that they should have left the package with the rental office, because that's how it works here. I never got a slip, but I see now the USPS tracker also gives me the same info the EMS site did, more useful details though. Still doesn't say which post office it's at (all I'm finding at usps.com is the ability to locate all nearby post offices, which at least I can call).

      I can't pick the package up without the slip, if I remember right. :( And I don't think the rental office accepts slips for residents, the post office lady usually puts them in the individual unit mailboxes in the mail room downstairs, and gives the packages to the rental office.

      Murr. I'll find it. It's around this area somewhere. Would help if I didn't live in a big blob of city and suburbs. ^^; Not having the package slip is going to suck, though.

    6. I think if you have identification you can still pick up your package. Good luck!

    7. EMS usually retries one or two times. Who knows, perhaps the lady from the office was on the toilet when they cam to deliver.

    8. Most EMS has a set delivery timeframe and I have had instances where the delivery company appears to be running late and stick "wrong address, unable to be delivered" on the webpage so they've got a few more days to get around to delivering it. I've gotten to the stage where I see that and phone them up and blast them because usually it's at the EMS depot and delivery hasn't even been attempted. I had wrong addresses supposedly on two separate packages, both arrived with the correct address on the label. Now when I phone, I have the previous 2 address labels and the 2 EMS tracking nos and wrong address spiels and I threaten to send the lot off to the main australia post complaints office. It usually means the package gets delivered the next day. Our local EMS couriers are hopeless, fortunately most parcels come through Australia Post and they're great. I'm guessing they weren't able to get to your address so stuck a message up which makes it look as though they attempted delivery. No delivery slip is the usual sign that the parcel was left sitting at the depot. Ring the EMS phone no and quote your EMS no and ask why no delivery slip was left and where the package is. That should hopefully get them moving. They hate it when they know you're tracking the parcel.

    9. Considering how things work here, I wouldn't be surprised. >_>;;

      @Hobbysue Yeah I've read that EMS sucks in Australia, I live in the US though. When I called the post office where the package did end up being, the lady thought it had the wrong address on it. Huh, funny, I'm looking at it now. It's perfectly right.

      So yes, package rescued, local post office located for future reference. Thanks for all the tips and advice, guys! ^___^ <3
