EMS Tracking not updating???

Nov 10, 2008

1. So, I've had an EMS tracking number for my new girl since about Thursday or Friday...but as of today (Monday) EMS Korea still says that the number doesn't exist! And it doesn't show up on USPS tracking either.

It's like the XKCD comic, only worse because I don't know where she is! :...(

2. That's what I'm using, and it still doesn't have any information either.

3. Bump!

It's Thursday afternoon, about a week since I got a tracking number, and still no information on my girl's whereabouts from Korean EMS or USPS!

4. hmm... are you sure its an EMS number and not a regular tracking number?

EMS numbers are usualy 2 letters, 9 numbers then another two letters (based on which country it comes from, you can sometimes still track if you change the last two letters to the country its going to, for example GB for Great Britain, US for the United States, FR for France)

other than that I cant think whats wrong, maybe check you were sent the right number?

5. Well, I copy/pasted it from the nDoll website: EM833488101KR

I'm trying the changing the last two letters thing now to see if it works...if the USPS site will work now.

6. And no, the 'change the last two letters' thing didn't work either.

7. Maybe someone (not you) typed in the numbers wrong. :((KR should be at the end for Korea.) Can you contact your doll company's customer service? Good luck!

8. I had this problem with a package from HongKong. The numbers were shown not to exist. I had to wait about a week, than it started working xD; hmm =[

9. Hallelujah, she's shipped out today! I wish I knew the reason for the delay, but never received an answer to my email. I guess better late than never, though!

10. Good for you! Don't you love it when they move? Someday maybe they will put GPS tracking units on them and we can watch their progress - that would be too much fun. I would need a Xanax.
I think I was checking every few hours when I was waiting on my Lishe and was a nervous wreck by the time she came - I had never ordered from a company located on the other side of the world and I was having anxiety attacks.

I have three numbers that I am currently tracking and it is gonna be like Christmas here on Thursday and Friday.

11. Yeah, she's been handed over to the air carrier now, and I'm hoping she gets here a bit earlier than the guaranteed date of Monday....because I'm going home for Thanksgiving on Monday and still kinda have to keep her hidden from mom...

In the meantime, though, I'm going to be clicking obsessively to check for new information.

12. I ordered some clothes from MS and she gave me the EMS tracking number on January 12th. That same day it updated for the 13th since China is a day ahead of us. So, Today it is January 15th here, making it 3 days since she sent the item out. The mail man has come and gone, still no package.

The tracking number has not been updated since 1:00am Jan. 13th (or January 12th my time) where it says "Despatch from Sorting Center" in Shanghai.

I'm getting a little annoyed because I paid for the clothes on December 25th and I already had to wait more than 15 days for the clothes to be mailed. :|

So what's the deal with the tracking number? The number is EE067266606CN. Is it lost?

13. According to the USPS tracking, your item left china on the 13th.
So its probably sitting in a customs office in the US somewhere. I've had packages recently spend a week or so doing this after arriving in the country WITHOUT being scanned as arrived..the USPS has been horrible lately about updating their site.

" Label/Receipt Number: EE06 7266 606C N
Status: Foreign International Dispatch

Your item left SHANGHAI EMS, CHINA PEOPLES REP on January 13, 2009. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."

14. Still no updates and no package 3 days since it's left China. >_<

15. SOunds like USPS to me....

mine left China(well the Sorting Center) Wednesday night about 9pm and EMS didn't update till this afternoon.. oi my ulcer!!! *_*

16. Well I got one of those unholy "Sorry we missed you slips" today even though my parents were home when the mail came. :| My dad said he was actually doing yard work and the mailman didn't even ATTEMPT to deliver the package. He didn't realize there was a package at all until he found the slip in the mail. The dang mailman didn't even get out of the truck even though my dad was CLEARLY there.

I'm hating USPS more and more these days.

17. GEH!!!! Oh I love my mail man! He brings my boxes to the door and knocks to let us know they are here!

18. Lira sometimes a company will fill out an EMS slip in advance of posting the item. MOST companies only tell you the number when it's actually posted. Sounds like they filled it out but hadn't posted yet.

Imhitomi sometimes when a parcel looks like it's about to leave or just left the country of origin, the tracking will not update because the parcel is in transit. You have to account for flight length and stopovers. Sorry about your postman being a lazy bugger, that's just annoying. It's sounds like some US post offices are not taking the EXPRESS aspect seriously.

19. Yeah and the most annoying part is that today is Sunday so I can't pick it up and 2maro is MLK day so I can't pick it up then either!! I have to wait until Tuesday. DX More than a full week since it was shipped via EMS. How annoying.

20. I had a B&G package delivered from Singapore on January 11, using Singpost as the shipper. I have an EMS-looking number but it has come up as, "Information not available" since I was given the number 10 days ago. How long is normal shipping time for a package from Singapore to the Eastern USA? Should I give it some more time before I contact the seller about it?

I've run it through the track-trace site and the EMS site with no luck. *_*

21. I wouldn't panic. I would contact the seller and make sure it was shipped EMS. I'd also verify the tracking number (typos do happen)

22. I ended up contacting the seller, he gave me a new number and said the package should begin tracking on the website in one or two days. So maybe he just got me mixed up with someone else when he sent the first tracking number. I'll give it a couple of days, I guess my doll is not as close as I thought she was!

23. I too am having a little trouble with something shipped from China, this has been the tracking details for the last three days:
2009-01-19 17:11:00 SUZHOU Posting
2009-01-19 19:14:21 SUZHOU Arrival at Sorting Center
2009-01-20 01:12:38 SUZHOU Despatch from Sorting Center
2009-01-21 16:02:09 SHANGHAI Arrival at Sorting Center
2009-01-21 19:11:03 SHANGHAI Despatch from Sorting Center

Even with stopovers etc I would have thought that it would have at least arrived in the UK by now O_O

Parcelforce is no more help either:

Date Time Location Tracking Event

21-01-2009 19:11 Delivery Agent - SHANGHAI - PTT Left origin country
19-01-2009 17:11 Delivery Agent - CHINA Collected from customer

Should I be worried do you think or is EMS just being slow lately?

24. Sometimes they skip scanning the packages in. I do know that. Sorry I can't be of more help!

25. Honestly I think USPS is being lazy with tracking- a friend of mine ordered something from Japan and on the day it arrived it still said it was overseas. And some doll clothing I ordered near the end of December left Shanghai on the 15th- and I haven't been updated since. I've ordered plenty of imports, and I can't say I've ever had to wait this long.

26. Well, I don't know about USPS but Friday Jan 16th I ordered some doll clothes from Dollmore. Wednesday Jan 21rst, my husband called me at work to tell me they were here. I had recieved no email or tracking from EMS or DOllmore, I had no idea they were shipped.

So I think snafus happen on both sides.

27. Hmm, Yes thats what I was thinking, but usually they update on parcelforce if nowhere else...still nothing today either so if there is no update tomorrow I may ask the seller to give a call to EMS and see what the holdup is...
Tis worrying though >_<

28. Hi fellow UK-er! I just got a doll yesterday and EMS is a bit slower lately. I'm not sure if its the airport taking longer to scan in received packages or Customs doing the same. I'm betting the latter.

My guy did take a couple of days once he left Korea to officially arrive in the UK on the EMS tracking. Looks like your doll also had to go to a couple of post depots in China before it left.

29. Hiya ^_^
Still nothing I am afraid and it is day 7 since he was posted and 5 days since he supposedly left China *wails* O_O
Contacted company and asked them to contact EMS, they are really nice so fingers crossed that they can get it sorted!
Bev

30. I don't know if this is the issue with your box, but certainly EMS into the UK has been PAINFULLY slow since before Christmas without any kind of explanation provided. I recently had an EMS box take 3 weeks to get to me from the states. AIRMAIL got to me quicker than that in the same week! I'm only guessing here, but perhaps the lack of spending occuring means less shipments between countries than there were before, causing a few delays?

Good luck with your box!

31. Thanks Lulu ^_^ It has made me a little less on edge to know that it could be a normality, the only thing that is worrying me is that they state that it has left china, so I wonder where in limbo it may be O_O
tracking no is: EB039694025CN for anyone interested.
The company got back to me really quickly and said that they had contacted EMS who said that it had definately left China, and to wait a few more days. Gak, I don't know whether that makes me more worried as I was imagining that it was sitting in a depot for 2 days, awaiting shipment, but as I said before it seems to have gone to limbo >_<
Well, atleast the company are being awesome so fingers crossed there won't be any problems should he get lost. I was just so excited :(

Bev

32. I put the query to parcelforce and they replied:

Dear Beverly

Thank you for your enquiry.

I am sorry you have not received your item but the tracking number that you have supplied is not showing that the parcel has arrived in the UK as yet. The last tracking shows this was handed over to customs in the country of origin on 21.01.09.

Until the item arrives within the UK we have no tracking details to outline where the parcel is and no jurisdiction to search for the item. Due to this, I advise you to contact the sender or the country of origin to establish when and how they sent the parcel, its due delivery date and also, to check that the tracking number you have provided is related to this parcel.

Once the item arrives in the UK, delivery usually takes 48 hours. If the item has arrived in the UK and if 48 hours have lapsed without an attempted delivery, please contact us again with the following details - the parcel tracking number; country of origin; delivery address including postcode; contact name and telephone number; parcel contents and value.

Providing the item was sent on a trackable service we will be able to investigate its whereabouts.

I am sorry I am unable to help you further at this stage.

Oh dear, looks like there is some confusion somewhere, it has either left china or is sitting in a customs in china...*sighs* great...

33. I've noticed that EMS from China tends to take longer. D: I've got a package from China and one from Korea, basically both shipped on the same day and while the package from Korea is already here in Houston ( the tracking has updated and everything ), the package from China is still showing that it's left China. D:

So I think EMS from China in general terms is just slower. We'll see if it shows up today with the package from Korea or not.

34. Just a little update, my package from Korea arrived yesterday and upon checking the status of my Chinese package today, it just entered into the United States and is being processed by LA Customs. So the Chinese EMS packages really do move slower than the Korean ones.

35. Just to ease your mind a little bit... usually my dolls arrive before the tracking is updated o_O

I'll get the "there is no information about this shipment" deal forever. And then all of a sudden I go to the post office just in case and my doll is already there o_O It's the strangest thing. So generally I get only two messages on tracking "There is no information about this shipment" and "The package has been delivered" -_- you'd think there would be something in between

I wouldn't worry too much. I hope your package arrives soon and safely! I seem to be living in a Bermuda Triangle when it comes to shipping, and tracking numbers are rarely helpful. But things always work out in the end, so I'm sure it will work out for you too! Something to keep in mind (which I wasn't aware of until I had an issue of it) sometimes when the tracking site says "The item has left (country)" and it stays that way for a few days it just means it's going through customs. I've had a package stuck in customs for a month once, and had no idea what was going on. Hopefully customs will move faster for you :)
