I already did a search and I didn't find anything. I have a package of two doll heads coming from China by EMS (face ups by the talented Bread17). It was mailed out on Dec 1, it's now Dec. 8 and no package also tracking hasing updated since Dec. 2. I'm kind of getting worried. I've never had any EMS packages take longer than 5 days.
I've had airmail packages 'disappear' for a while on tracking, but never EMS. :/ You might want to have Bread17 look into it.
Yeah that's what gets me nervous that it's EMS. I mailed her but she didn't have anything news. Hopefully it will show up soon.
I think it'll be because of the Christmas Rush. We had 9 boxes sent from China on the 23rd November and they didn't arrive until the 4th! I think its a bit slow from China right now.
I temped for a UK parcel company a couple of years back, and it seems there are always issues with parcels (EMS or otherwise) coming from mainland China: I've seen hundreds of the things 'disappear' - i.e., complete lack of updates - for anywhere up to two weeks once they're posted before their tracking starts to update to show that they're on the move, but they generally get on their way after a delay at the beginning, so hopefully yours should do the same fairly soon. I've got my fingers crossed for you!
yeah...my Oasisdoll Yaoyue shipped EMS from China, and she spent about a week there before finally getting on the plane to the US. The tracking did not update that whole week, I think it just said she had been accepted in China for shipment or something...I was chewing my fingernails the whole time, but she did finally arrive, safe and sound! I think shipping out of China is slower than out of Korea, even for EMS. Good luck, I'm sure your heads will arrive soon!
animemom: 4-6 business days wouldnt be too bad, I think I'm on 7 business days now. Strange because my ems package there got there in 4 days, really fast. Sylphide: oh wow, seems like china EMS is really slow! Thanks for the input! :3
Rynn007, thats the part that worries me, other people got their orders already @.@ EDIT: JUST as I posted that I thought to check again, and today on day 10, it's now in USA customs, so it should only be two-three more days. I'm just happy the tracking finally worked YAYYYYY Thanks everyone for their input! I guess China's EMS is just much slower than the others. I'll remember that for the future!
Actually the other packages I sent to USA arrive much faster than this one... I've sent 4 packages together but only shelly's gets stuck... I asked my post office to check it but it needs 7 days to get the detailed information about where the package is and why it takes so long to update. Anyway, thank god that the problem is solved now. I hate EMS -_-
bread17: thank you so much for helping, and your patience with me asking so much @.@ It was odd that everyone elses went through so fast. Maybe it was one of those random checks? Like they had to open it?? That's all I can think of.
I had a package send to me the 13th of november, china is telling me it's in belgium customs since the 25th , belgium says it's in china customs since the 25the... what the hell am I suposed to do now ;s
Get the senter of the package to check with their Post Office as they'll be the only ones who can. Most post offices do not do much with the person who recieves the package but the person who mailed it, since they are the ones who paid.
oh my gosh!!! that's terrible I'm so sorry you had such a bad hold up! o.o I hope you get your package soon. Did you call customs?
oh that makes sense! I never am quite sure which post office to ask the sending or recieving! So confusing at times!
China EMS is raising eyebrows for me too. Mine's been shipping since 11/20. The package made circles around China, and I'm on my third EMS number.
Darksnight: wow o.o 3rd ems number??? I've never gone through that. I really hope you get your package soon!
I dunno, I leave for home in 2 days so I won't get it anyways till after new years. =\ I ordered the stuff in October in hopes of getting it before Christmas, several of my friend's X-mas gifts are also in there. I am very disappointed, but I don't think anything can be done.
I think you can try to ask the sender about it. The post offices of China can do something to check the detail information about the package if the sender asks them to do so. It needs 7 days.. but much better than losing something..
GOOD NEWS! package arrived today, I will get it after work. Thank you to Bread17 for being patient with me. Photos will be posted in the gallery soooon!
Glad to have found this thread. I'm waiting for a Bygg that I bought from a seller in China (in the marketplace), and I was wondering what was going on with the slow shipping. This has happened before in which I sent a Head to Singapore and it didn't arrive to its destination until 10 days after (using ems of course). I was really hoping that it wouldn't have been the case now, but this is a bit ridiculous. I was really hoping to get him before Christmas, but it doesn't look like it now. Seems like I have to wait till Thursday and if I don't see any updates besides "origin post preparing for shipping" (which has been stuck on that for 3 days), then I will let my seller know. But it kind of worries me when I get two different updates from the Chinese EMS site and my USPS one >_<.
everyone just need to chill and remember a couple of things 1) we are talking about postal services 2) it's christmas time.
Javasoy~ I understand that it's the Holidays, but this actually occasionally happens even on regular days. So I highly doubt it has anything to do with the Holidays. I suspected it might have something to do with the weather, but it seems as though the postal service is just slow in China after reading a few threads about its postal service . Shelly~ My package was shipped out on Thursday so I havn't really been waiting that long and if it's anything like my previous package from Singapore then I could expect 10-11 days too . I did notice that on the ems China page, it showed my package traveling around China. At first it looked a bit strange, but realized that only the larger and more prominent airports have flights to LAX. But now its just stuck at the airport in the dispatch section. I do wonder why exactly are they being held up there. Luckily I'm no longer traveling next week so I should be able to receive it if it does come in then.
I was expecting the usual 3-4 day wait too, and I'm on day 6 and the tracking has not been updated for 4 days (seems the package has not even left China yet). Not what I expect for the price of EMS. I think I'll give China a skip next time. Javasoy, I wasn't under the impression that the Chinese celebrate Christmas.
Yea I would also have to say that most Chinese don't celebrate Christmas since since my family is Chinese as well . Anyhow I discovered an update, which I find to be a little strange but you guys could try this out too. I talked to my seller and she told me to try the Chinese site instead: http://www.ems.com.cn/chinese-main.jsp and to translate the last sentence on the far right, next to the city it just left. I got the update that my package was sent to San Fransisco. A little odd considering that it should have gone to LAX instead since that is my local international airport. Of course I'm wondering if perhaps that city only had flights to San Fransisco then its understandable, but I asked to double check with my address. I figured though that even if it was coming from San Fransisco then I should have still received it this week. I've sent packages to up North during the Christmas week for my family there and they received in 2-3 days with just priority mail.
@lildemon: That was fantastic advice! I tried it and it says my package is already in the US, Kennedy airport! I'd advise everyone to bookmark that site for future China ems shipments. I find it extremely odd/unsettling that the usps and other sites I've tried don't all have the same information. =/
I have a question. If it was sent to Kennedy Airport on the 24th, does that mean it's in the customs office there? and that it hasn't been 'checked in' because there's no status saying it's in customs?
Hmmm I'm assuming its in the Customs office and probably it hasn't been checked. But you could call in to see if its still stuck there. Did your update on the Chinese site say that was being sent to the Kennedy Airport or it actually arrived there? I discovered an update today that while the Chinese site had told me is was being sent to the San Fransisco airport it actually just arrived there today . So I'd try to call Customs to see if it has been there, but if not it's possible that it's still stuck in China's customs like how mine was. Anyways I think the major problem so far is customs. Seems like packages are just being held there for week(s) before being sent out. This is the only logical explanation I can think of as to why it would take so long for a package to LEAVE its origin country . I was just in San Fransisco yesterday and left today by plane too . Can't believe I was in the same place as my package, but didn't know until I arrived back home . chaos_zebra ~ Oh my goodness. No site has been able to recognize it? It's been two weeks for me before I got some type of real update on my package's whereabouts. Have you contacted your seller?
To add to the discussion - here is what my doll body being shipped from China to the US did: (And then so-on until it actually reached me on the same day.) That twelve-day wait for an update was very horrible. xD;
No, the tracking number was working, but stopped working temporarily. It's back now, for all the good it does me . . . still no updates!
I am awaiting an EMS package from China which was shipped on December 9th. On December 10th, it made it to Guangzhou, and seems to have stopped there. I followed the advice earlier in this thread and used the Chinese-language site for tracking, and the last line of tracking info there states it was outward bound to Chicago on that date. The USPS site just shows that it is being prepared for shipment in China. I've contacted the seller, but I'm not sure what else to do at this point. If I call the postal service, I'm sure they'll just be able to tell me what I can see on the computer screen.
my daughter ordered some doll clothes for christmas with ems, and it arrived at customs in the 24th. it is still there...so much for ems if customs gets involved.
Alright update. I finally received my Bygg after 14 days in shipping. I could tell he was stuck in China's customs since his box's wrappings were redone and heavily taped back on. greeniebone ~ That is a really long wait. My package had the same story and updates as yours but it finally got a move from customs and was sent to the US on the 29th. The USPS' site also began getting updated then too. Did you ask your seller if she/he wouldn't mind calling in to their customs to see what's going on? Other than that there really isn't much we can do but wait and hope for the best. I've had regular airmail from China move much faster than its ems. Not sure what ems even means to them over in China since it takes longer than 2 weeks to even go somewhere.
Sounds like my package is stuck in China's customs as well, judging from The Dutchess's shipping schedule. Mine is very similar, from USPS.com : ~Origin Post is Preparing Shipment ~Foreign International Dispatch, December 24, 2009, 10:15 pm, SHENZHEN EMS, CHINA PEOPLES REP ~Foreign Acceptance, December 24, 2009, 5:12 pm From the EMS website: 2009-12-24 17:12:00 Posting 2009-12-24 19:02:00 LGPH Despatch from Sorting Center 2009-12-24 20:56:28 SHENZHEN Arrival at Sorting Center 2009-12-24 22:15:11 SHENZHEN Despatch from Sorting Center I'd really hate to pester the company as they did me a big favor by sending it out sooner because I'm moving to a different dorm next week, but I want to know what is keeping my package from getting through their customs office. Think I should ask them again about it? I know they didn't call or contact the office when I asked why all the websites had different information on them.
I am so frustrated! My package, which was shipped on December 9th, still has not left China. I called USPS, and they told me they couldn't do anything, since it has never been scanned into the USA (meaning, they have no record of it leaving China). They told me to contact the seller, which I have done, but no response from them yet. I am really getting upset.
I think everyone is experiencing delay lately. I have a package that was sent out in mid-Nov via EMS and it just got to me a couple of days ago.
Here's something interesting. My friend bought anime and manga from a store in China and it shipped via regular air mail with tracking. His package shipped a day or two different than mine(Dec.22-26 and arrived here(Michigan) today. This really bothers me. EDIT: Btw, mine still hasn't left China as well.
I was just checking out the Mint on Card website, and I noticed this comment in their News area: "We've re-stocked many K2 outfits. It took much longer then expected to get these outfits in; our order was in transit for a full month despite being shipped via EMS!" Somehow, knowing that retailers, as well as individuals such as myself, are having problems getting EMS packages from China makes me feel slightly relieved, especially since it appears Mint on Card's order did eventually arrive!
