Hello, recently we've been trying to organize a group order from Purple Puppet, located in China. as the site is in Chinese, i've contacted the administrator and he agreed to take an order via email. we ordered few wigs and few pairs of shoes, and as far as my experience tells me, this amount wasn't rather close to two kilos, but the person I was in contact with told me the shipping with EMS from China to Poland would cost around $97 (!!!), as it weights around 2 kilos. we were all shocked, as we've never heard of such high shipping costs! even though most of us have been buying dolls and accessories from china, corea and japan numberous times! i was checking around internet and found ie. this site: http://www.gets.cn/shipping_cost.php which gives a total of $42,91 for 2 kilo package from china to Poland. then i inquired about the airmail cost , and was informed that the price for airmail around 2kg is $47.6 - which also seems quite high, regading the fact it's unregistered shipment so, i have few questions: 1. do you think the shipping prices are fair? 2. could someone living in China and dealing with EMS tell me the exact costs of shipping a 2 kilo package to Poland? 3. should i argue with the person, giving him proofs of the difference in shipment costs, or just agree on the high costs he gave, or rish shipment with unregistered airmail? we really would love to finalize this GO, as they have marvellous shoes i will appreciate any help, thanks! d.
I don't live in China but from my experience buying items and sending heads for commission, EMS from China is actually very expensive . Going from the chart from the oficial EMS site here: http://www.ems.com.cn/serviceguide/e-zi-fei-biao-zhun.html , the quote sounds correct. The other site you mentioned show lower rates perhaps because they are a major customer and have a deal with the courier company. I am unfamiliar with Purple puppet's packaging, but if they have individual cardboard boxes for each pair of shoes( like Dollheart does) and wigs it can add up significantly weightwise. Maybe you can try asking for registered airmail? Sellers from China have shipped to me without problems using this method.
thanks, They DO send shoes in boxes, but they wrote me the weight of 2 kilos is without boxes. also, does anyone know what D and M in "First 500g" mean here: http://www.ems.com.cn/serviceguide/e-zi-fei-biao-zhun.html ?
The "D" means documents, the "M" means parcels. Poland located in Zone 10, so the pirce of 2 kilos is 455+120X3=810 RMB And the exchange rate is about 1 USD= 6.7 to 7 RMB So the total shipping fees can be around 100 dollars. Sometimes they can get discount from EMS, but it depends on many situations. The seller also don't know how many discount they can get before shipping, usually it's about 50%. However, this method must use agent to do. The seller may consider the safety of your package.
