Accessories Elven boots?

I admit, my elves/fae wear whatever shoes I can find that fit them. Lots of boots. They don't really look fantasy but I guess riding boot is a good description for them. Functional over fashion.

 

I’ve resigned myself to learning how to make them because I don’t want shoelaces haha

 

If you want to look for fantasy-wear but don't like laces, you could look into footwear that is styled after traditional shoes from China. Some of them might not be the right look if your fantasy world is inspired by European cultures, but they look elegant and come in a variety of shapes and colors.

I tend to look for shoes on Legenddoll because they have the most variety out of the dealers I've found, but there's also Stacey's Pink Ocean and Moonlight BJD House though those can tend to skew towards SD and bigger for shoes. Here's a pair of boots from Legend Doll that are more like riding boots, while these are sorta piratey and don't have laces either. There's more like the riding boots, too, but they tend to come in black. I've had a lot of success with them, though, and they don't look out of place with my fantasy kids.

 

If laces are a purely functional issue, I can assure you that most laced doll boots come with a zipper at the side or back.

 

I haven't bought those specific boots, but if you create an account you should be able to ask Legenddoll what the measurements are either through email or by commenting on the listing.

 

I ended up making my own boots partially because aesthetics and partially because time and yeah, the tiny laces are kind of fiddly to go with. I think I'm going to try riding boots for my next experiment with boots.

This DA tutorial is for humans, but it's easily adapted to dolls. I think boot patterns 2, 5, and 7 at the bottom would work nicely for fantasy boots.
