I think Dami's default face plate is the open-eyed plate and Yumi's default faceplate has the half open eyes. All the face plates have been available for both dolls, but Dami is always normal skin and Yumi is white skin except for the real skin Twiggy version.

 

I'm sorry for butting in with a photo, but I'm just overly excited over having finally gotten my Elfdoll heads (Amy and Dami) looking exactly like I wanted them to.

 

Don't be sorry! We love pictures! They are adorable. Congratulations on getting them the way you want them!

 

They are so cute, both of them, I love that they have such different styles!

it's a pity that one can't read the measurements of the new body... Are they the same? ...I know that the bust is larger on the new body, but I don't know how much it is..

I have received an elfdoll tiki in pink normal skin. I have a white yumi faceplate, that I absolutely love and would like to use it on this body. What would you recommend?

I have a NS floating Dami head.Any suggestions on body that can fit the head nicely?

 

Jessyu - Both of my girls are NS and on the Angel of Dream Normal Pink body. The resin match seems to be near perfect on my Amy, and the heads fit nicely on the neck.
(Only problem is that my Dami is slightly off color, she seems to be somewhere between NS and RS. No idea why, but I did buy their heads at the Elfdoll December sale and if I remember correctly they warned that they might be not 100% perfect. Your Dami is probably the same color as my Amy, that seems to be the regular NS.)

Hello !
Let's say I found an elfdoll to buy...what should I ask the seller as proof of her being legit?? I'm new to this and I don't want to end up buying a fake doll :/ ...
Does she come with a certificate??

 

The Elfdoll site via the Wayback machine lists an athentication card for the SD Rainy girls. but doesn't mention one for the Lovely girls. I don't remember getting one with my Dami, but she was from the sale.

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca I have 2 lovely girls bought from MP they both came with a flimsy plastic creditcard format authentication card with the elfdoll logo on it and the words "Lovely doll" purchased around 2012/13, oh and a booklet in Corean.

 

Recasts are terrible!

It's good to know that they did have cards most of the time. I'll have to look and see if I misplaced Dami's card. She was from the last sale they had before they closed, so maybe they didn't bother then.

@.lilli. They closed and said they'd work on new dolls, but maybe Rainman, the sculptor has personal issues, I don't know, and they have never re-opened again. I hope there's nothing serious going on, but the site hasn't re-opened for a while now.

I don't think they were planning reopening. I think they said something about changing policies and work, so.... maybe Rainman will have own shop some time soon. That would be great too...

Does any of you have any hybrids with WS heads? I have Yumi heads and I just can't find the right body. I couldn't get the original when it was on sale;< Typical....

 

I finally found a Dami and she is on her way to me. What wig size works best on these girls? 6-7 or 7-8?

Hello..finally I got my elfdoll! She arrived yesterday...she is an elfdoll twiggy 1st release... but now I have a question for you..is it normal that the faceplate doesn't match the colour of the body 100%?? the body seems to be sligthly more pinkish than the faceplate.. I'll upload a picture later to show you what I'm talking about...Thanks in advance for any help!

 

If the faceplate was sent out for a faceup at some time, it may have been exposed to more light or heat that yellowed it a bit more than the body.

I bought her as in perfect condition... But now I'm wondering if the body is from a twiggy release..or if only the faceplate is ... :/

The body matches perfectly with her cheeks though..

 

Twiggy was a darker skin. They used the homme skin for her. Homme skin was used for the men and selected other releases. The body looks like the homme skin but the faceplate looks like normal skin. Here's a color comparison. Hiro in the middle is the homme skin.

 

hmm..could it be a 1st bodyrelease with a 2nd release faceplate..(her face is not so pale). I found this one on flickr (not my picture)

@nancy_schroeder_ca can you please confirm me that faceplate and body should match 100%??

 

Frequently the faces look lighter because of the sealer. i would put a wig on her and see if you can love as she is. With Elfdolls we frequently have to get heads and bodies from different periods.

 

It's not so visible with a wig...but shouldn't have the seller told me that before buying her? Instead of selling her as 1st release twiggy?

 

Ok I have been looking and can't seem to find this anywhere. It is probably right in front of my face somewhere, but what is the exact height of these dolls?

 

The older body is 41 cm, I'm not sure if the new body is the same height.

note that her head is Elfdoll normal (old enough) and the body is Loongsouldoll normal yellow. They're a bit different.
It's OK actually, but yellowish Loong normal pink color would be better I suppose.

 

So many pretty girls! I recently 'discovered' Yumi with her lovely eyes, and started looking for her to buy. A friend of mine
has her in Twiggy version 2 with painted Dami faceplace, fist hands, dress, wig, box etc. all still pristine. For a very friendly price.

Does anyone have parents or older siblings for their girls? The normal size Elfdolls are too big IMO, and I'd love to have an Asian mum or dad - big sis or bro - to interact with her in photoshoots. none of my dolls are the right height/proportion.

what shoes have you found to fit her? I have lots of Unoa size. hoping my other slim mini clothes work for her too.

so excited! will post pics when she arrives.

 

Maybe a Zaoll or Ramie or one of the other about 50 cm ladies would work for a mom or big sis.

ooh, Ramie, that's a good idea. I posed my Sharmin Elf girl next to Soom Idealian 51 and DT Elf Jun 52cm. proportions all wrong for both, but height is good.
why is it that buying a doll often involves buying a doll? and clothes or props......?

of course, best idea is to actually get Yumi first, then I'll know better who she might match.
