yay indeed! i went to go look at the club to see any new picture, but then i got this and was like.. no!! what am i going to look at! he looks like he might be a mature face, like K. i wished the made a mini Wu! That would be too adorable!

 

Ooh, I saw this this morning. I can't wait to see what he looks like! He looks so high-class, like Rennaissance or something.

 

Isn't it already the 1st over there? *impatient*

PS. OK Rainman's representative just chatted with me, and she taught me how to pronounce his name and what it means in Korean. He is a really cool new look!

 

Catrina that is spectacular news! Does that mean you will be offering the entire Elfdoll line? I am looking forward to tomorrow!

 

The little we can see from the silhouette reminds me of Victor Mancha of Runaways-- if he does end up looking like Victor, I think I'll go nuts.

Yes, I will have a web site for the physical Dollfair shop here in Ohio. Unlike my other sites, this store site will have many different brands of BJD on it.

We plan to have the full ElfDoll line in the next few months.

I want to thank Rainman for inviting me into his family.

Don't get me wrong, Im very excited about the new Elfdoll boy, but Im kinda bummed, too.

Last time, with the introduction of Special K, we were sort of invited into Rainman's studio and we got to see K as he was being developed. It was so great!! Rainman shared his thoughts about K and you almost felt like you were privy to the creative process. I really loved how Rainman wanted to include us by posting teasers, and then progress photos of K. I wonder why he didn't do that this time?

 

I'm curious about his size. Do we know if he's going to be a normal Elfdoll boy (Wu or K body) or if he'll be in a different scale?

 

Oh, man. A different scale. I'm all for seeing some new big boys, but, come on, Elfdoll. Start making some smaller scale babies! I would love to buy more MSD sized ones from them!

 

Okay..... the Elfdoll site is back up but NO new guy. I wonder what happened.

 

I can't access the website, just see the page with the sillouette of the new boy with no links to enter the site......is it just me?

 

Yep, the same for me, so they're just holding everyone in suspense!

 

I was thinking the same thing, and Runaways is one of my fave comics, so I'm praying he turns out with that look. I can't wait to see what he looks like!!!!

With Red, they held it secret and just gave us silhouetted teasers, too. They seem to switch off, sometimes showing hints, other times just surprising us almost completely!

 

I'd be willing to hazard a wild guess that revamping the web site has kept things hopping.

Oh I can't wait to see. I so love my Elfdoll boys...

 

I'm hoping that the new site reflects an edgy look to this new guy. I wanted a H. Ducan but I am ready and willing to fall for another Elf Doll guy.

Because it's WAY different from the first time I saw it...
Which was like last week.

It's pretty crappy.

Slow loading because it's picture heavy. Font basically matches the background in most places, so you have to high lite to read doll information. They even spelled "Special" wrong ("Spesial").

I don't think it compliments anything. ^^ Especially not a new doll (which I still don't see there), though the main site hasn't opened yet.

Let's hope I'm wrong to think that it's all the new layout. *crosses fingers*

 

I think Elf Doll was just going for something different, rather than the typical pastels that are all over most of the BJD shops. I applaud them for leading change, but yeah, the site is problematic.

The spelling can be chalked up the language barriers. Spelling errors can be found on any Asian BJD shop, from Iplehouse to DOD.

 

I just realized it wasn't last week I saw it but like.. Monday. 2 days ago. It's when I started researching and having interest in BJD. I swear the layout changed yesterday. That's how recent the change in the site was, if anyone was interested.

I completely understand the language barrier. Least we can figure out what they mean, eh?

 

And remember how with Wu they showed us pictures of just the torso? And we'd had a very early glimpse of Soah but nothing at all about Sooah until she was ready.

It's never the same twice with Elfdoll, I think that's why they're so much fun.

 

the siloutte looks so fine! its really masculine and mature, I like that. but I cant really imagine how he'll look like. I'm excited tho. Hopefully the site will open today.

PS - I hope he comes with the taller body options like Standard K. ^^

 

i can't wait to see the new guy!! i love the elfdoll faces, and their body sculpts. they are beautifully made and finished, and are very real looking... i really love them! *excitement *

 

I wish they'd hurry already! :O I want to get a K when the site reopens, but I might need this new boy instead.

I think I will end up caving for him, especially with the second head having sculpted hair. I've been wanting BJD companies to try that with their male dolls for a LONG time.

 

He's gorgeous, but I can't afford him. If someone was interested in selling the head with the sculpted hair, I might be able to manage that.

 

Maybe if I don't like it when (when? how did it become when and not if??) I get mine.

 

Actually, it's not crappy - just simple and creative. It has a nice, organic feel to it. Font colours can be easily changed, and I can see everything just fine. It only took a few seconds for it to load on my computer. Maybe it's your computer?

Also, one would think that you'd be used to such things as spelling errors when dealing with dorrie companies. It's Engrish.

The doll: Sculpted hair, hmm? Not sure I'd like that too much. I'll have to see how it looks before I condemn anything, though. He does look quite attractive. I love Elfdolls, but they're so short.

From what I remember hearing from Ms. Cholong that his name means "dragon". He does look like a dragon in human form to me! I wasn't certian how to feel about this new doll but when I saw the new photos I thought he was awesome. XD I hope other people will enjoy him a lot, too.

Hee hee! ^_^ I actually think it's going to be sometime today while we are open (before 6pm Pacific Standard Time). Now I'm just waiting for a phone call to let me know it's ok to put him on the webpage.

Shouldn't even have to wait those few seconds. Milliseconds, maybe. It doesn't happen often for me, just for those sites that don't know how to make proper image heavy layouts. The background is a large image. Wonder who chose that? I haven't done that since my beginner years when I started HTML, 7 years ago.

Personally I don't mind the English, but looking on a Business Perspective here anyone who doesn't know or is used to 'Engrish' would look at that and say it isn't professional. They would not trust them. They would click the Back button and search for another company.

That layout is more suited to someone's country-western log house/cabin family reunion. I keep thinking that Ho-Down music will load and start playing, "YEEEHAW Welcome to the Elfdoll Website!" (Insert Banjo didly.) With all their Dollfies square dancing in country western clothes, in a barn, surrounded by hay bales.

Personally I liked the old one better -- for what I remember of it, it was more "simple and creative" than this one. You have to think about those people who spend all their money on Dollfies, clothes, rent, food instead of fast computer systems or more so... fast internet connections.

Plus... No one should have to change their default font colours just for a site, either. Or highlight font to read it. It's inconvenient. And the LAST thing a business wants to do is inconvenience their customers. Perhaps they'll catch it and fix it. Else some helpful, handy people will email or place on the message board about it.

 

Aw, it's such a shame the surprise is ruined. But you have to see the whole doll! His styling and options are really cool... what a great character he's going to be.

My first thought when I saw him was a memeber of the Yukaza but now I see him as a Kitsune Lord. (I would LOVE seeing him as a kitsune lord!!) He just has such a sly look to him. I also saw him as a character from Samurai Champloo. XD Mugen!!

Well, it was a pretty small peek (for those who didn't see), of just the face. The writeup was probably the most revealing.

I'm putting serious thought into getting him. I get paid today, and it should be big money.... I like how male he is, and he's the perfect height for my character. I'm going to wind up with a cluster of Elfdolls one day.
