Yeah I tried 6mm Glib eyes in my Kai but the dome was too high so the only thing you could see was the (much too big) pupil. Oh and I thought you meant the Pure Neemo bodies, my bad. Thanks very much Pathy, I think they came from a Barbie doll, but I can't be totally sure, as I've had them for ages. I have some that don't have see through lenses but these are the best as they are more realistic. And yes, they're the perfect size for her....she thinks she looks very mysterious in these!

She has this little camera too, that is a great size for her....I've had it since I was a child, so it's OLD!!!!

 

I just posted to the photo spam thread! I have been away for a while because I have been struggling with my finances... so I posted what would be the first and last photos that I take of my girls. It breaks my heart, but I hope you all enjoy the pictures as much I enjoyed dressing them up and taking their pictures! I will have to live vicariously through everyone else's tinies' photos and news

Grr.. Elfdoll drives me crazy ! The tiny-bodies are sold out again. I have a Bong head on order now I missed out on the body again . . . I'm not sure about the picco neemo bodies *cries*

 

I'm guessing the one body that appeared back in stock was from a cancelled order. I really want a Kai and a Lyn, but I'm not willing to purchase just heads, especially when there's no way to know if they're ever going to sell bodies again after this. I think I'm just going to have to wait and see what elfdoll does for their future "special editions." I wish they'd give us more information about what that means.

Does anyone know how fast Elfdoll ships with their recent orders? Some people say that their's took 36 days and others say that their order took 6 months. I'm just super nervous because theres no tracking information and no way of knowing if my Bonsunhwa head even exists. They confirmed my money in paypal but I'm still a bit worried and confused. Sorry for all of the questions. Replies would be much appreciated!!!!

 

Hi William1122, I wouldn't worry just yet if you've got confirmation. I ordered some Lovely heads back in February and they shipped out about two weeks later -- they were supposedly already made and in stock so the turn-around was extremely quick -- but my Hiro I ordered on 3/30 has yet to ship out. I don't think the Tinies were all pre-made, more like 'available for pre-order', since most of us who ordered them have waited much longer than those with larger size clear-out doll orders.

I'm giving them the standard 2 - 3 month bjd turnaround before I start to worry. Elfdoll's been around for awhile and while they may take their own sweet time, I don't know of any problems in the past about people not getting their doll eventually...

 

I am hoping they are disorganized because they are preparing new things. If you ordered a face-up, it will probably take several weeks to do that. If you don't have a shipped update in a month, I would check with them. When I got my order, one head was missing. When I contacted them, they apologized and promptly refunded the cost of that item.

 

I was debating selling my girl (for finances) and because I just hadn't bonded, but your girl has convinced me that perhaps I can get the look I want for my girl - if I can get her a new face-up!

April_san -I totally feel for you as I'm in the same position too. Your Lyn is just beautiful though!

 

Thank you so much for replying, Icicle and Nancy! I assume that she's been shipped out because when I checked the order number it said that I couldn't cancel. I really wanted the face up but I didn't want to slow down the process any longer so I decided to get her blank and paint her myself

 

When it has been shipped, the status will be "Shipment completed" and the tracking number will be entered. If the status is "Confirm receipt(Credit card)" the payment has been received but the order hasn't been shipped. You can only cancel an order before it is paid.

I am also waiting for my Hiro. Not complaining too much that elfdoll hasn't come up with new dollies because I would probably want some and I can't afford any at this point.

It's been years since I've been around, but with summer here, I kinda got to relaxing and browsing, and wondered over to my favorate haunt at Elfdoll, and saw they had a few heads for sale (but no bodies) so I picked up 3 (bong, lyn and kai) then decided to try out some Azone bodies. I hope they work out.

I also got my dolls out of their case and am so sad to discover moths got in there and ruined any doll wigs made of mohair so now I have to replace a bunch of wigs. But for a while, I'll have to use what's on hand. Anyway, it's so nice to see some familiar faces here

Hi Annina! I love your dolls, who is the one on the far left? She looks like an old German doll? Anyway, I fear I'm going to regret not picking up an Olivia.... hummm, I just don't have the $ LOL. Maybe I should write and ask how much extra shipping if I added her. I think they charge WAY more than could ever be accounted for! Each head definitely ways less than an ounce, and they charge for 300 grams or 12 oz! Maybe they'll add it without charging more to the shipping and I can squeeze in the cost? LOL. As usual, I have no money and shouldn't be doing this, LOL.

Well, I didn't get a chance to as, as my heads have been shipped! I hope I can find the extra dreamingtree eyes i have for them, and enough wigs, or make some wigs for the girls 'cause I'm pretty much out of money, LOL. Help, I need to find another Lyn wig. My daughter has her eye on that cute bob that my Lyn came with, and I don't want to part with it! Anyone know who sells them? Thanks!

Jonlyn, it's really awesome to see most people are still on the boards. Like coming home. I haddn't even been lurking because I knew if I did, I'd start buying again, and of course I did, LOL. But we have to have something in our lives to brighten them up, and for me it's dolls. Always has been. Your doll is gorgeous and that cat is literally to die for! Where did you get it? I LOVE IT!!!

 

Josslyns cat is from Eves Studio Project. Sorry you couldn't add the other head to your order. Shipping costs, especially international, have really gotten to be outrageous. There are some great wig makers on etsy...that's where I got the one Josslyn is wearing . I will go back in my account & see if I can find the name of the maker.

 

Oh, that's ok, I just want to find the same wig that my lyn came with, it's in their picture here It's just a cute little bob, but my daughter loves it and I don't want to give her mine, LOL

When I have more money, I'll get wigs from tinybear. She made all the ones I had before (I think I threw 6 wigs away!) You can see that adds up to a pretty penny I need to go buy moth balls and keep them in that box with the dolls! I do love Tinybear's wigs, so I'll most likely order from here some day, in the future... as I can, LOL. In the meantime, I might just do the glue on fibers that they originally were designed to have. You know, how Rainman glued wig fibers into the grooves of their wig caps? I always wanted to try that

Does elfdoll still just slow down, and sell off their stock, but eventually come back with lots of options? I hope I might still get a Dodo, they're so adorable!

Elfdoll does what Elfdoll does...sometimes there's not a lot of visible logic to their actions. This is the first big tiny selloff I've seen in my nearly 10 years, so not sure if that indicates new product or not.

Well, I finally got around to following up on (and photographing) an Elfdoll Tiny Head on a Picco Neemo body:

{Click on the link to go to my Flickr stream and read a more detailed description} Unfortunately, It's not as simple as cyberspacegirl suggested: The neck post that comes with the PN body isn't long enough to go through the head and down into the neck hole. I am going to further cannibalize the spare parts kit for a longer post.

About color matching: PN "White" matches Elfdoll's standard female skin tone very well, actually. If Adel's head and body seem too yellow, it's because she's several years old, and I am not hesitant about putting my dolls in the sun for a photo-opp [LoL]! Hiro's "Homme" skin is darker, but still a very pinkish color, so I have a PN "Normal" body on order to see if it's a decent color match.

Yah, that's so true about Elfdoll! They've said before, they're artists and that's where their priorities are Like Rainman said, he just doesn't enjoy sculpting boys, hence the lack thereof, LOL. I guess if you love Elfdoll, you have to just take them as they are

Ah shoot, I wish I had seen this Sunday 'cause I bought the flesh color for the heads that are coming, which are the plain flesh/normal. Ah well, since I'll be doing the faceups, maybe I can get them to match? Thanks for posting the informaton, it's invaluable! I did get an extra body for my winky, which came with two heads back in the day

 

You should be able to blush the heads to match the bodies. Since they are so small blushing is quite easy unless you don't use sealant ( like me )
I really should just bite the bullet and buy some MSC but it's so highly toxic that I never bring myself to getting it. But it would make my faceups look so much better.

 

Aw, are you sensitive? If you don't have unusual sensitivity issues, using latex gloves with a disposible mask and spraying outside should be very safe. I found a box of thin disposable latix gloves at the Home depot. Easy to work in and when finished you just peel them off like a doctor does. You don't even have to touch the exposed part of the glove.

But I know some people can't be exposed to certain chemicals, so don't let me lead you astray!

I wrote to Hobby Search where I ordered the doll bodies and hands (got the hands too) and I'd have to pay a 10% restocking fee to change the body color as they already put in their order to the supplier I guess?? So yah, I'll try to blush the heads to match. I don't have much money, and I need to order wigs, LOL. Gotta find the cheapest place or make them. I'm a little weary of paying $25 for nice mohair and ruining the wigs, LOL. decisions decisions. Ugh! LOL

Well, I found and replaced most of the wigs for my dolls at Kemper. They're not great wigs, but I hope they'll last until I can afford nicer ones. My poor boys won't get new wigs though They're just going bald, LOL. I guess this way the girls will have an alternet look when they get replacements for what they had.

Also my daughter, who is now 13 years old, used to play with my dolls a lot, a WHOLE LOT and they're pretty dirty and rubbed, LOL. Eventually, I will have to redo all their faceups. Hope I can still do that! I hate shopping for cheap wigs, or even choosing wigs in the first place! I was all settled on how the girls all looked, now they're goint to change again, especially with faceups n such. What a butt! LOL. Finally going to go to bed, good night y'all!

 

Thanks, IngieBee! I'm not really sure if I'd be sensitive to it since I've never owned any but I might as well buy it and be extra careful to wear a ventilation mask. But as long as your protected it's definitely worth it. The face up I did on my Bong and Lyn head are ok but they look too shiny and the colors smudge so I will have to redo it again. Hopefully some sort of Matte sealant will help these problems.

 

Well, darn it, Hobby Search, where I ordered my bodies said they're out of stock I hope they have the cute dresses I ordered though. Those picco neemo clothes are so adorable! They later wrote that they could fill the order (maybe) July 3rd, so I'll just have to wait and see. My heads have shipped, or at least shown up on the postal service site, LOL. Can't wait! I haven't gotten a doll in a long time. Looks like some girls will have to share bodies if my picco neemo bodies don't get shipped

Gosh, my heads are out of sorting in LA, they should be delivered tomorrow! Wow!

I found that Hobby Search or 1999.co.jp had the bodies for about 16.00, and it looks like their shipping is reasonable from what I can understand of their shipping rates. They also have the dresses etc... for a lot less than what is offered on ebay. Thing is, they seem to sell out all the time. Since I'm pinching pennies, I'm hoping it'll all work out in the end. I don't think I've ever bought from Japan before, I hope they don't charge a duty on this package!!!

Nope. Here in the US we luckily don't have to pay customs duties.

Tracking on my Hiro package says it just left NY customs and departed USPS sort facility-- I'll probably get it on Monday!
I've had LA customs post weird things-- in, out, back in again -- it's hard to tell what they're doing over there...

My wigs arrived yesterday, but I didn't get the mail until now, LOL. Talk about lazy family, nobody bothered. Anyway, I just realized that I better have working volks spray or msg or my girls, when they do arrive, will have to wait for their faceups! Also, my older dolls are going to need new faceups because my darling daughter loved them a bit too much, LOL. The faceups are dirty and rubbed off now. I hope she'll be more careful now that she's so much older?? No need to touch the faces!!! Take heads off when dressing! etc... LOL. But it's so worth it to have a partner who also loves dolls, she's my sweetest dolly

My dollie heads came and they gave me an extra! I got Bong and Kai (second kai 'cause I just love that sculpt) and I got Lyn for my daughter. But they sent an Olivia as well! I wanted to get an Olivia, but it was getting too expensive, and now I have her! Knowing my memory, I double checked my order, and no, I didn't order her, LOL.

So I'm giving Olivia to my daughter because she can pass for her sleeping Lyn, and I thought she might like that

I have to wait until July 3 to hear from Hobby Search and see if my body order will be filled. Gosh, I really hope so! I NEED them now, LOL. I also have to see one of those bodies to see how I'm going to attach the head... I have an idea, but I don't know how hard it will be to get inside the body/neck area... I really want the bodies!!! Grrr! LOL. I guess I'll be busy anyway doing lots of faceups. Especially for my existing dolls who I would like to freshen up as well. Anyway, it'll be a fun summer. Time to see if I still have working cans of volks spray stuff... :P

 

IngieBee --neat! I'm glad everything arrived safely from LA, and with freebies!

My order came in today too. I got a free Prince Charming outfit and they gave the sleeping head a face-up even though I didn't pay for one -- Hiro's cute, with freckles! The only issue is the right foot magnet came unglued so he's bit of a peg-leg until I re-glue it. Anyone know what glue works best?

 

You can use superglue or a good white glue like Tachy or Sobo. If you use white glue, give it plenty of time to dry! I let white glue dry 24 hours.

 

Also be very careful gluing the right end of the magnet back in, when I first got my Sylf I had the same magnet fall out! And when I attempted to put it back in I superglued the wrong end back in -_-;; needless to say I went through a long horrible process with fingers glued to just about everything around me (luckily not the doll lol), I got nail polish remover, tweezers, and managed to fish it out. Just hoping you don't go through the same thing I did lol.

 

That's the main advantage of white glue. Soaking in water is easier!

 

Congrats to all who got their dollies or will be getting them soon. It would appear that mine got delivered today but they stuck the notice on the door and it fell off. Must head off to the post office tomorrow to pick it up. Sigh. I can't wait to pick up my Hiro!

 

icicle, I use superglue for that. Pretty typicle for them to fall out. I even bought a bunch of magnets at a magnet store online because I've lost them, LOL. Just make sure which direction it's supposed to go in or it will repell the foot rather than get them to attach. Ah well, you already got your answers, I'm too late, LOL!

Anyway, sorry 'bout the delivery being delayed, calliope13, sometimes I wonder if the postal delivery person even tries We are mostly lucky when we get our regulars, they're great. But they get sick sometimes, or their routes get changed

Anyway, since I'm going to put those heads on picco neemo bodies, I just realized a way to do it. you know they have that ball that the head is supposed to float on (giving it it's range of motion) but the plug piece looks like it's too big to go through their head? Well, I think I'll just cut that off and drill a hole through the ball and string a silicon rubber band through there, then hook it on the head cap. Maybe that'll work? Will see

 

Thanks for the glue answers, everyone. I've got some Tacky so I'll try that first. I figure leaving it on the end of the leg then swiping it into the hole should prevent the dreaded 'reversed polarity'...

Hiro is home! I am sooooo happy and he is just so cute. They included the free prince Charming outfit for me too I have a NS picconeemo body and the resin is a nearly perfect (98-99% IMO) match for the homme skin.I will try to post pics later in the week if nobody else manages to do it before me. Hope this helps those asking about color matches.

IngieBee - the neck piece on the picconeemo bodies fits just fine as is on all the elfdoll tiny heads I have tried (Hiro & Kai), for mine at least it was a tad loose on Hiro.

icicle - I believe you are thinking about the pure neemo bodies which are slightly larger but are available in xs. The picconeemo (or picco neemo depending on where you search) are only available in S and M or the D (super deformed -ie exaggerated limbs). I have both S and M sizes and the neck is the same on mine.

 

Oh, this is fascinating about the picconeemo bodies, thanks for mentioning it! I'm assuming it's the XS?

Wow, that's awesome about the neck piece! I know Hiro has skin tone like my old elfdoll Kai, darker. It's great that it matches so well! It turns out that Hobby Search contacted me finally and said they couldn't get an answer back from the manufacturer, so I was allowed to cancel my flesh colored bodies and get the white ones. I think for the regular Elfdoll skin tone, it'll work out well. It will undoubtedly go off anyway as all my elfdolls have yellowed a bit over the years, and the plastic of my obitzu dolls hasn't changed much if at all. But the nice thing is that I'll probably be able to counteract any color diferences with blush. I'm so excited now that my order is complete. I just hope they'll ship soon! Yaaay!

I have a PiccoNeemo S (13cm) body on the way, I want to see how well it works. I tried ordering more bodies from Elfdoll but they said they were sold out and canceled my order but then turned around and sent the heads!!! Now I have 3 extra heads and nothing to do with them. I was going to sell them but then GoodbyeKitty just happened to post photos regarding the PiccoNeemo fit - it was perfect timing! If all goes well, then all 3 heads will get Picco bodies.

 

DanceCat - great news on getting your heads. Hope you get the bodies soon.

Hopefully everyone will get their dollies soon. I can't wait to see what everyone is going to do in regards to faceups with all the black heads that were ordered

 

Actually, IngieBee: I'd love to see the heads on the "Pure Neemo XS" bodies, too!
BTW: Picco Neemo bodies DO come in an "X-Cute" size that is even smaller than the Picco "S" bodies, but so far they only come as complete sets (dressed dolls) so they cost a couple-hundred dollars each
More frustration: PN best outfits only come on their dressed dolls, PHOOEY!!

Calliope: "black heads"? Was Elfdoll offering a special resin color for a while? I didn't see any mention of it on their website…
