Monkey your Hiro looks absolutely ADORABLE!! I just so squeed. I love the little sweater and the mohair wig is perfect for her. I realy need to get my poor boy hooved like I keep meaning to. He is one of the few Hiro boys in the community and he needs to be complete. He is a fawn.

 

Pardon me but um...Can I ask some questions please about Elfdoll? I'm not sure about them but I really love their sculpts and one of them would be perfect for a character I've created size wise and such but looks...Well I'm still indecisive..I love 'em all and even if I didn't make one into an OC I'd love to get one one day. One of my questions is...Is Elfdoll ordering period only?

 

Arashi: I THINK they are now, yes, but I'm not really sure at ALL on that.

 

Arashi Uchiha: According to Elfdoll's own postings, They have done away with ordering periods, and everything should be available at any time, but I've noticed that some things, like wigs, clothes and option parts, still go out of stock from time-to-time.
…Also: Many people have been complaining that Elfdoll's waiting period has gotten too long. Maybe you should look in the MP for your new friend? A purchase from a seller in the 'States or even Europe might arrive sooner than a direct purchase from Elfdoll – and shipping might be less, too!

"Dreadful Spiller" Wig Update: I think I've just about run out of patience with the idea of sewing eyelash yarn to a crocheted wig cap in order to make a wig I will force myself to finish the one I am currently working on, and then try a "hard cap" wig with Mohair wefting.

Ah thank you. ^^ I'm unfortunately broke at the moment but I would love to own one, one day. I wonder if it would be possible to get one in tan....Do they make them in tan? XD; I got a specific character in mind who's a forest elf. Having a pocket version of her would be fun.

 

Thank you Teseya. Actually that's a realpuki wig that's a tad big for her, the elfdoll wigs that I bought for her are too small. And the sweater is from Azone International, it's for an off topic doll.

Where are you going to get hooves so tiny? Are you making the hooves?

Hi GoodbyeKitty173, you are welcome. I posted the question on 26th June, but the Elfdoll Administrator answered questions from other people and ignored what I posted. So I just posted in their Q&A again.

 

Monkey- Oh, the hooves are made by DaisyDayes. she made both Puki and Elfdoll sizes a few years ago. I have 4 sets, two are currently in baggies and two are claimed by Mio and Ilya(my wishel). I need to blush/dye the set i got with Etsuko so it'll match Hiro's skintone...either that or sand down the puki set that already match...oh, and make tiny horns for him.
as for a wig for your Hiro girl, you could ask elfdoll if you could purchase an extra headcap and make a glued on wig like I did with Lynn ad like Dodo and the original Monaemi sisters.

 

Oh... Now I can't wait to see your Hiro with hooves. As for the wig, I am now happy with the big wig.

 

Oh gosh, now I'm thinking about putting Hiro on a puki body with daisydayes hooves... I've wanted a little faun for a while but I didn't like any of the puki\realpuki heads other than my Roro... But Hiro has the droopy ears and everything, that would be adorable!

 

Sigh... my questions in Elfdoll's Q&A board is being ignored again. All the other questions before and after mine are answered, but mine was ignored... And I thought they have very good customer service when my real skin Yumi had problem.

 

swivel- You don't neccecarilly have to put him on a different body, DaisyDayes did make elfdoll hooves too, I'm even considering sanding down a pair of puki hoovesI have in matching resin.I just don't know what kind of sandpaper etc to use and how I would sand that much off. Or I need to dye the white elfdoll hooves I got with Etsuko so they are his skintone...andI had experienced help when I did that for Mio's hooves...so I've put it off as i'm at a bit of a loss as to where to start and with what. The only thing I'm sure I can do is make tiny magnet horns for him.
but yes, those ears just beg to be made into a fawn...as has been my intention for him since I got him when he first came out. I am now so behind. I'm just innexperienced with any modding.

DK's sick and had surgery so takes long to be be answer.

The new tiny dolls which are only CATSY and HIRO have magnetic hands.
And the others are modifing the original form now.
after that we are planning to sell apart.

You can buy hiro's hand part separately. if you want, i can send them together with sneakers parts which i sent wrong.

I am love little Etsuko so much! Her style is so much different from my others. She's such a little Seoul Girl Hehe. I found the LaDeDa shoes fit her so well and the little armwarmers work perfectly as socks. I even got her really short wig into pigtails. ^_^

Teseya: Yeah, The quality of the outfits is a bit wanting, but La-Di-Dah accessories have many uses among tinies!

Some General Knowledge: I tried PukiPuki and RealPuki hands & feet on my Hiro: The magnets are the wrong polarity to stick to an Elfdoll properly. The hands & feet are also at a weird proportion compared to Elfdoll Tinies, because ED's look like skinny children, and the Puki family look like chubby toddlers.

Actually: I have a pair of RealPuki "Leaf Shoes" a friend sent me, and the proportion isn't that bad – but then you've got that magnet problem again

I am quite confused about elfdoll ordering process for Hiro. I don't want the sleeping plate yet I am thinking to get the faceup. All I see for the option is the extra face plate or the extra face plate and the face up for both (I think) or no make up at all.

On the side note does anyone know what bodies the Hiro heads can fit on besides Elfdoll's. i want to make a brother and sister pair so i may just end up getting the heads custom face upped.

 

Fush: I can't help you with the ordering process, because When I ordered my Hiro I just wanted the body and planned to sell the head(s) to make-up some of the cost.

As for what bodies go with the head: The main things to watch for are the width (circumference) of the neck on the new body and how it works with the neck-hole in Hiro's head. The hole may need to be widened, or the neck-piece reshaped.
Also: The new body's method of attachment to keep the head on. For example: Fashion dolls have a solid neck-knob, and you would have to just shove Hiro's head onto the new body, or close the head around it. Some Asian fashion dolls (like Obitsu) have neck-knobs that break down into pieces for easier attachment. The main thing to look for with BJD bodies is weather the neck hook will fit inside the new head, or is so small as to slip through the hole.

Earlier in this thread we talked about the possible compatibility of the new Azone/Picco Neemo 1/12 bodies. You may want to review that, as well.

For the tinies, I believe Elfdoll always does the faceup on the open eye head.

Master JuliaS: As for his character, Spiller is short for "Dreadful Spiller" from the children's book series The Borrowers by Mary Norton. Physically: "He" is a Kai head on a Hiro body. It's amazing how different a doll can look with no wig, but I am very picky about hair, and am still exploring options. Also: At the time of the pic we were still waiting for Elfdoll to release more Hiros, so his head was stuck on the more mature, female tiny body

I'm quite taken with Sylf and Kai, but wanted to ask if the boots (No.2) are magnetic. I know they're listed as magnetic, but the bunny slippers (No.3) appear to be made to fit around normal feet.

 

Optional feet are "what you see is what you get" - their solid little sneakers or high heels or the leaf shoe. Glad to see they went magnetic so swapping is easier for the newer dolls. I'll have to see how the new boots work - the old boots used to be like the old shoes but instead of swapping out feet, you swapped out the feet and the calves - such a pain!

Just look up old pictures of Catsy to see the boot I'm talking about.

Just went to the elfdoll website (been a long time) and the short boots of the "feet part set" just swap feet. The slippers fit over their existing feet as pictured in Hiro's picture - the monimoni sisters used to come with slippers way back in the day.

Well, I'm still working on a 'permanent' wig for Raspberry. She finally chose what she wants for her wig, red lambskin. I HAVE what I need to make it for her...just have to finish picking apart a MUCH larger wig, then cut down the pieces to re-make it into a very small wig, to fit her instead. But while she waits, she DID get a new dress tonight. I might add some lace to the bottom to make it floor length on her. I've not decided yet. I'm also going to take off the plastic bow button thing at the neck, and replace it with a ribbon bow instead. Still, she seems to be pleased with it.

Is that dress a Kelly princess gown? Or maybe a tiny Disney princess doll? That's a great Idea for the lace edging, and I agree: that bow/button has to go! …On the other hand: Maybe save it to use in her hair when the wig is done?

About the wig: you are definitely going to need some double-sided tape to hold it on when it's done!! Kai's head is so much tinier than the other Elfdolls that it's almost impossible to get even a custom made wig to stay on properly

Yay for pics! I can never stick with a wig since they make olivia so top heavy. I just cut a semi triangular shape out of a tiny bear wig and tacky glued it on top. Seems to do the trick and cover enough. I'd post a pick but I can't fit behind my computer desk right now lol. I'm on semi bedrest waiting for my twins to arrive next week! Olivia is keeping me company for the moment. Need more fall elfdolly spam please!

 

Duh! I DID forget to say WHERE I got the dress, didn't I? It's from a little Disney doll, from the Disney Jr. show Sophia the First (my boys and I love the show, so the doll it came with will get loved by the boys instead of tossed, too!) The set this came in had the Sophia doll, and three little dresses.aspberry got this one, my Garden of Dolls Nabiyette got the other 'fancy' one. Not sure what I'll do with the way more simple one, yet.

For her wig...I'm SERIOUSLY considering n just making a 'wig' for her, but also making her a new headcap that I can just glue some of the fur to. A local, and good friend, has an Elfdoll tiny of her own, who she got wit ha BOX of headcaps. Instead of wigs, she glues things directly to the extra caps. Want to change hair? Just switch out the cap! It is an idea that I LOVE.

Your boy is darling! Kai really does make a good boy as well as a good girl!

Congrats on the impending arrival of your little ones! I glad you have your dolly to keep you company while on bed rest! If I get the chance, I'll get more photos of my girl to spam. Not sure when, though...new job means nearly no 'me' time right now.

 

actually the head cap thing is not a new idea. The Elfdoll tinies originally came with glued on wigs. Then they sold extra headcaps to make your own glued on wig as well as wigs also. They used to sell them separate...you could ask elfdoll if they have any they'd be willing to sell you yet. My Lynn has a glued on wig I made and my Dodo came with a glued on wig as well as an extra headcap. I keep a couple extras from before just in case I want to make a glued on wig.

edit: That's also why all the headcaps have those ridges...so they can be part lines. There is a tutorial that Rainman made somewhere on how to make the glued on wigs.

Hi tinyelf-owners I just came by discovering that realpuki crochet shoes and boots (by the Bead Loom Gallery, for instance) fit Tinyelf feet ! I tried with flat feets. I have 2 "old body" tinyelves, Olivia and Sylph.
I love my dolls but it's quite hard to find clothes and shoes for them, especially if you don't want the typical elf-wear or cute-child dress (I'm not despising these styles but I'd like my girls to be more mature). Do you have some tips ?

 

Lorelei- to be honest, the most mature clothes I've seen for them are the elfdoll shop clothes. The ones originally made for catsys that are on their site. The others are so tricky to find. Though I have heard that heidi ott clothes fit.
I have seen those shoes, and they are really cool, I don't know which of my girls would wear them though...maybe Lynn.

Btw everyone, I finally got the hooves on my Hiro! Now I just need to make the horns.

 

Hello, everyone. I would like to buy a Hiro head from Elfdoll, and another whole tiny doll (BONGSUNHWA for [FONT=arial, helvetica, sans serif]example[/FONT]). Can they share the same body?


My second question is the price for Hiro head and body is bit lower than the whole doll, Can I buy the body and head separately and then assemble them on my own? What else do I need then?

I don't think you can buy the tiny heads separately. And Hiro is Homme skin, so he is a bit darker than the other girls, so not really compatible (other than the 1st edition of Kai).

 

Heidi Ott dollhouse shoes, which are miniature rubbery plastic pumps. They even come in tiny shoe boxes.

DanceCat: The inside of Kai's head is shaped to take 6mm just like all of ElfDoll's other tinies, but Kai's eye openings in the face-sculpt are much smaller. The eyes that ElfDoll gives you with Kai are a special set of 6mm with an extra-small iris: They have color, but it's hard to see:

That's why I love eye makers like DreamingTree because her small eyes work with Kai's tiny face, or you can special-order smaller irises on a standard size base without too much extra cost. Also, she's located in the US!

• Kai is wearing his 5mm DreamingTree's in "Spring," and Adele is wearing 6mm from eBay seller Releaserain. Releaserain's tiny eyes also come with smaller-than-standard irises, but her selection isn't nearly as nice as DT's.

I had a devil of a time getting my DreamingTree eyes in, but now they are perfect for my Kai. I got her the albino colored eyes and got a extra pair of gift eyes in the same size. I'm very pleased with them.

I remembered that photo of Kai and Adel (as those are the 2 sculpts I want) and I remembered it was noted that they had different head sizes, if I'm remembering correctly. So I found these hanger paperclips that were the perfect size for my elfdoll tinies' clothes...so I decided to revamp their clothes box into a doll and clothes classic box. It is an actual antique doll box, now they all go in it for a carrying case and their clothes ( realized there are A LOT) are all organized.

 

Does anyone know what happened to Elfdoll recently? I saw on their site that after December all their excisting dolls will be discontinued and offered for a discount right now. But the tinies section has completely vanished! I am so sad because I really wanted to order a Kai finally after admiring her for two years. Now it seems my chance has gone! Does anyone have any more info?

 

what?! it's gone? OMG, it is gone gone. I have been so distracted with getting an Eun-a head that I did not even notice the lack of tiny dolls. I'm not sure what midlife crisis they are having this time. But wit h elfdoll, they may say that everything will be discontinued then change their mind halfway through the year again. You could always look for a Kai preloved. I guess I hadn't been looking at tinies b/c I have every single one I wanted...and then some. I have 6 (points to above pic). Anyways, good luck on finding your Kai, Do no give up hope.

I always thought their tinies were way more popular than their SDs anyway. Which is weird because their SDs are beautiful aswell! Oh man, I hope Elfdoll gets their sh*t together, I've never ordered from them but heard about troubles in the past.

 

Just read the post about no more tinies at Elfdoll. I hope that isn't true. That would be so sad. I LOVE my tinies. They are my favorite little cuties. I just went and spent some quality time with my little ones. Here are a few pics.
