Elfdoll 14cm TinyDoll discussion Part 4

I can answer this, my Catsy has a few pairs. They are Heidi Ott dollshouse shoes. They come in THE most awesome little brown shoe boxes and are a perfect fit for our girls. I had forgotten how elegant they all are. Such lovely girls Clochette. Dodo is one I always wished I had got.

 

I kinda ended up with one of the new Dodos. She had a sleeping head with her too. I only use the sleeping head. It's prettier. Her name is Renee. I have yet to figure out what to do with the other head. I like the big eyes...but the lips are just too thin and cynical for my tastes. XP I love my Renee though, she is darling. She gets along so great with my Dollshe Bernard, Roaul. I know, so lg vs so sm....lol I have found some shoes by Ruby red galeria that fit my little ones great too!

imajica: It's lovely to see little Shanni again. I love her, - especially with her custom faceup. She seems so full of life!

She doesn't yet have a name, but she was happy to find that she could indeed scrape together a reasonable outfit between the puki drawer and the forgotten gift outfit that Feather arrived with from Elfdoll.

Clochette: my Adel is named Nissa! My Sylph is Lissa and when I find Lyn, she will be Tessa. I love your dodo's wig!

Teseys: My dodo is one of the newer ones with a sleeping head too. I can't wait to see her in person.

Thanks Teseya Her shorts are actually Kelly pants I think, but the tshirt is great, - and it came with some jean short overalls, which I haven't tried on yet, but the look cute. I guess I was lucky not to get the Pjs!

CasaDolceCasa: Thank you Her shoes are from my pukipuki stash. They are Hujoo Baby shoes, from Mimiwoo, and fit well. I may end up buying more now I have more dolls to wear them!

 

Alexisbears , your Min is fabulous. Those shoes are glorious on her too. I think we have some somewhere. I never thought to try them on Shanni.

How funny! Nissa is my second tiny, she's from the first batch released back in the day. I love Shortie's hair as well...it's actually not a wig, it is mohair glued to the headcap, it's how all the hair on the first releases were done. You can't remove it other than taking the headcap off. They used to sell spare headcaps to make your own wigs or swap out so that the doll could wear a different wig. Nissa's is the same way...it's saran floss glued to the headcap. I really like the way these look (my Min is the same way).

 

Someone told me last time that I had the elfdoll tiny new version. So, I wonder how you can recognize the different version? I didn't know I had the new version.
I saw that the min sisters have a junior body and the elf a mature body, is that right?

Alexisbears : First outfit for this doll but I sew a lot for other things. ; ) My challenge is to make a sexy girl of this tiny elf, because of her mature body in fact...; ) I have to find light fabric to make her clothes that would be better...

 

Usually you can tell by their outfit (if they're new), their faceup, their wigs or their ears. The glued hair/headcaps were first version, and the second version had glued-on fur wigs. Later versions had bald headcaps and wigs. The newest versions have much larger ears than the original releases.

Yes, the sisters have a two-part, less mature body and no elf ears. The Elves have a three-part mature body.

 

Thanks for all the details clochette! That's really clear! and for the same model/version is it always the same make up? or is it like fairyland dolls (the make up depends of the make uper... it changes a lot also with the time withoutmodel version change)

 

In my experience, the same "versions" tend to have the same makeup...I haven't heard of or noticed much variance when people have posted their kids. Earlier versions unfortunately didn't have very durable faceups, so many ended up rubbing off accidentally if they were touched...two of my Sylphs have new faces because of that, but I'm okay with it because it makes the three girls all look different, even though they're the same face. With later elves, the makeup seems to be more long-lasting.

I'm not really sure if they have more than one person doing faceups on the tinys...I know with the Hanas, the faces were very similar, so it seemed like it was all the same person.

um...you should read the first page of the discussion thread before asking something like that. On this page, there is a pic of Elfdoll Min Del Re and Elfdoll Lyn. They are all Elfdoll tinies. Which is what this discussion thread it about. They are thin and about 14cm tall.

 

Teseya, I'm not sure you meant to sound rude, but it sort of reads that way. Sorry. We have all been new at one time or another and we've all asked questions that seem "ignorant" to an old-timer. I think it is wonderful that someone enjoys the Elfdoll tinies and asks questions regardless of what that question is. I haven't been on DoA in months, but even before that this thread certainly needed someone to post and appreciate all our Elfdoll tinies.

clochette, I thought the new Dodos had different makeup from the originals. Mine has a darker, more pinker faceup. I remember someone else who got theirs about six months after mine and the makeup on hers was more pale like your Dodo. Hers was the only Dodo that I saw that was different so maybe hers was just a fluke?

Casa, I love the outfit you made! Fabulous. I know how hard it is to hand sew all the details and you did a great job. Did you use a thick cotton or patterned denim for the material? It looks like the edges are just cut, but they aren't fraying so I thought it might be one of those two. I'd love to find material like that. It is gorgeous!

I LOVE this! All the details and personality you put into it. She looks like she could be a friend of mine. And the sandwich by the computer is so... real! How much of this were you able to purchase and how much did you make yourself? (Awesome work!)

 

Wonderful! I can imagine working on something so tiny would be difficult... having your thumb in the photograph for perspective helps me see how very little these dolls are. I'm going to have to check into them... just too cute!

 

Yes, as far as I was aware, the new release Dodo had different makeup. Perhaps the person asked for the original faceup?

The one makeup change I don't like at all is the later version of Min. The original Mins have a wonderful death-glare-of-doom, which the newer ones do not, they have a much more subdued look. I love my Cranky Winona, and I'm really glad to have that version.

Luckily she fits perfectly in the dollshouse so there are a lot of accessories out there for her size. Thank you for your compliments though. She is the only "grown up" in the house. I must get her a companion at some stage. You are all making me want Min/Dodo Love that this thread has sprung back to life.

I always seem to miss the open period at elfdoll when I have money in my pocket! Anyway, I love admiring all your dolls and I hope to one day add a Min or Lyn to my family.

 

My new girl finally has a name - Caitlyn. It's never taken so long for me to find a name before.... for some reason I kept looking at her thinking her name was at the tip of my tongue, but as if I couldn't quite remember it!

clochette: Her wig is a size 2-3 "Giselle" from Kemper doll in medium brown. I just pulled it up into little pigtails.

 

Hi everyone. Sorry to ask this but where can I get clothes for the minis from? From what I've managed to read so far, it seems that Kelly clothes and some puki clothes may fit. Anything else? And what size is her foot. I've found her measurements on the website but it doesn't mention the size of her foot. Thanks.

I know exactly what you mean, linakauno!! In this photo I had set Kai's eyes to look straight ahead, but his eyes still seemed to be looking at me – even after I re-positioned his head. ​

 

Precious new photos of these girls and I just love Feather's new outfit!! I casually looked at the Elfdoll Christmas event and suddenly noticed that Rainman's Edward mouse is for sale again. Although he's OT, I think he might be an interesting friend for some of my tiny girls so I put him on layaway. I keep whining for Rainman to make a tiny mature guy for my tiny girls with bosoms, but my lonely girls may have to settle for a mature cat or a giant mouse.

smudge: The last one just ended in October, and I think I just managed to squeeze in my order. Elfdoll has been releasing Tinies about twice a year since they introduced Hiro, so maybe in the Spring you'll get another shot! Also: keep an eye on the "Group Order" and "Split" threads. You may get your items sooner in a G-O just because most doll companies tend to pay more attention to the big orders.

You read my mind, Teseya! I ordered Hiro specifically to put Kai's head on his body. Some very nice dolly-people have shot some comparison shots for me, and it's only now that I realize how different the "Homme" skin is

It's funny, though: Hiro only looks dark when he's next to his sisters. I expect I will have to "blush" Kai's head to match. I got my Kai's head in a G-O. I split with someone who only wanted a body. I had already bought an Adele in the MP. Kai's head matched Adel's body with no problem.

Does anyone know if they fit the Leekeworld 3inch wigs? I'm just wondering whether it is worth adding a wig to the GO I'm in (I don't have a doll to measure her head). Thanks.

 

derilan85- the best place to get eyes for Kai or any elfdoll tinies really is DreamingTree studios on etsy. Cheap and she makes just the right sizes.
Smudge- I don't know about leekeworld, but 3 inch usually fits elfdoll...but be careful it is not puki sized...that is too big. In any case...using some white wall tacky to keep it on helps a lot.
goodbyekitty173- great pics! Though he is kinda bald...lol. as for homme skin. the very first release of Kai was in Homme skin...I don't think the current release is...just that one. That's probably why yours won't match Hiro's body. I'm sure blushing would work...but I always find it hard to find artists willing to faceup a doll that tiny.

 

Seconding the DreamingTree recommendation...I've seen other plastic eyes that small, but they're nowhere near as nice as the ones DreamingTree makes.

 

I had submitted a question on Elfdoll's store site if and when they might ever become available again on 11/26/12 and this is the response I got:

Yes, darling, we release dolls period by period but we don't decide the dates.
We've released Tiny Dolls last month, so the next one will be beginning of next year.

Teseya: Yeah, I keep Kai bald to help him look more boyish (especially since "he" is on the bigger breasted body) and also because he's got the smallest head of the Tinies. A regular 2-3 cm wig just swims on him, even with double-sided tape
…As for the face-up: I've actually got a growing collection of other tiny heads that need face-ups or touch-ups. I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and do them all myself.

Yes indeed for DreamingTree: Kai's eyes are DT in "Spring Green" 5mm.
