Elfdoll 14cm TinyDoll discussion Part 4

Sep 26, 2011

    1. Thank you Nancy!

    2. The girls went to the beach today with their horse, it was wonderfully deserted so the girls had the sand to themselves! (Please note that this seems to be a 'magical' horse, as it leaves no footprints!!! ;) )

    3. What a magical picture!

    4. Aww thanks so much nancy! (PS they were knocked over by a wave just after this photo......thankfully no casualties though, just wet, sandy, wigs and clothes!)

    5. I'm so excited! Guess who I found and snagged for just $115? An original Winky! She has the strapped high heel feet on and will probably need a new faceup...but she has the human ears! Not the enormous and annoyingly dopey elf ears. (No offense to those that have and love them, but totally not my style). She will be shipping on Saturday and I can't wait! So lucked out! That'll make 7 for me. Etsuko (my Bong) will be stealing the heel feet of course, but I have lots of extra parts and wigs, eyes and a whole 'closet' full of clothes for them. I feel so lucky! And talk about an impulse buy...happened within one morning.

    6. Teseya - A very good find indeed! Can't wait to see her when she is all settled in.

I am trying out some patterns for my girls outfits to see if they will work. Thinking they might like some new eyes too... Alas these are so addictive. Almost picked up a doll house for them the other day at target (Lori loft) but had to decline as I have too many bills to pay first.

    7. Oh my goodness, you all are still here? 2017 not so long ago :D I still have my elfdoll girls too :) Love the beach picture, @dambuster01 :D

    8. Love het

    9. I'm still here.

My most recent ED tiny girl is a Min, it's one of my favorite sculpts in the line. This girl has longer hair than Winona (my original MdR), so not sure when she was released.

    10. Min was my favorite too, @clochette! I still love that sculpt but would really love to have the other two girls :( I should have done it years ago! I know they have them still at dollemporium or something like that, but I have no $$$ at the moment, as I had other plans after coming back, but I should try to get one before it's too late :D

    11. Nice to hear you are all still here too. I really hope someone adopts that poor Jin Del Re on dollpeddlar. She's been sitting there for years. only problem is...dollpeddlar never lowers their prices...even after that doll is nearly unknown...
I have 7 of these lovely tinies (and lots of extra parts, as I stocked up while I could). My newest is Dot (winky).
I also still have the open eyed head of Dodo that needs a body. Does anyone remember or know the neck circumference for Hybriding? Or any good hybrids that don't look like children (I hate the obitsu 11cm on her, or even the piconeemo).

    12. Um... I bought that last Jin :doh

      • x 1
    13. Oh, that is very nice of you to rescue thatt poor little Jin!

    14. Oh, I just realized you said you don't like the Picco Neemo :doh LOL Sorry! @Teseya , but if it's because of the fat arms and legs, they do have them with normal proportions as well???

    15. @nancy_schroeder_ca , I've been eyeing her for years too, and I should not have done it (but I'm kinda glad I did) .Hope I can find a Bong some day!

Teseya reminded me it was at the dollpeddlar, I went and looked and couldn't resist :doh

    16. My Jin should arrive today :D Also, I got a Hazy head off the market place, and she arrived. I'm waiting on an order of magnets for her head, that'll probably take a month, LOL, and I hope to do some painting tomorrow (fingers crossed) Hope to have pictures later!!!!

      • x 1
    17. I am so glad you got her! I am not the type to get doubles in them myself and I already have a Jin. Kinda off topic, but what body were you going to be looking at for the Hazy? I recently got a NS June head and I need to find her a body. Preferably one that has good aesthetics and posing that doesn't cost more than $400. I'm having some trouble finding one.
I love saying how many Elfdolls I have...but I tend to not count heads...but that would make 2 that need bodies and 7 tinies and 2 SD.

    18. @Teseya I bought her to go on an impldoll "normal pink" model body that I have. But I might want to upgrade her some day :D But not for a while, especially if she looks good on the impl, which I do like. It's a good body, especially for the price :)

Can't wait to take pictures of Jin!

    19. So I got another one...
I can't help myself. When they pop up at a good price, I just need to give them love! This one is Olivia. The more recent elf eared release with the mature 2 part torso body. I gave her some TLC. I made her a wig using one of my old headcaps and some dyed raw wool I had. Then I restrung her. She so needed it, as her thread was fraying.
Here is a pic (the rest are on my fb...but it won't let me link them, had to jump through hoops to even get this pic on here)

    20. Your Olivia is adorable, and I'm glad she found a good home with you! I did the same thing when I saw a sad little Sylph pop up on eBay a while back. That makes four for me and I think I'm done - but I always get in trouble when I say that!

    21. ooooh, she's so sweet!!! Congratulations, @Teseya !

    26. Thanks IngieBee -this thread needed a new pics. Besides, I am hoping that with the elfdoll shop reopening new minis might be in the future.

For those of you who may be looking to find new wardrobe items, Princesses from Ralph Breaks the Internet will fit. The princesses are 6" tall. All of their pants are capri and look great, seems that the tops fit fine. The long sleeves are a bit long but as you can see, can be pushed up. The shoes: the ballet flats fit though they are a bit big (the are even labeled L & R); the sneakers are TOO TIGHT and near impossible to get off plus are much bigger. Snow White's glasses don't fit well. I suspect that they would fit narrower faced ones like Kai.

Here is Min wearing the Snow White and Mulan outfits. I left one Mulan jacket sleeve as is full length so you can see how long it is and pushed up the other one. The blue tank top is tucked in as it fits too close to the body to be placed over the pants.

PS- they did make bigger dolls with very similar outfits that were sold individually, be sure to check size before you buy one. I only have the Mulan and Snow White outfits.

    27. Thank you for the heads up @calliope13 . Man, I'm looking but the packages don't state what doll size they are for! Have you gleaned any hints as to size/packaging?

Actually, I think I've cracked it. The bigger doll's shoes are adaption to a high heeled foot, whereas the smaller dolls have flat feet shoes. Hope I can find some, that looks really cool :D

    28. Those look like they fit really well, but wow, those sets are not inexpensive. Yikes. Good luck with your search, IngieBee.

    29. Alas, I gave up. I can only see the larger available without the doll. BTW @clochette , didn't you used to make outfits for these tinies?

    30. It's often best to just buy the small dolls individually for the clothes. I ended up buying the 2 small dolls for $20 + shipping. And yes, the small dolls have flat feet.

    31. I've had success with the older Bratz Babyz clothing as well as Topper Dawn doll clothing. They can wear older Kelly doll jelly shoes and tennis shoes, which I normally get on eBay. Some of the ballet flats fit, but not all. I know that Denver Doll also has a couple of Elfdoll outfits left

    32. These dolls were my first love. I have some of Tinybear's dolls too. They are really awesome together. half of my dolls are so floppy, I seriously need to find chording for them and fix them up!

Adding my Ariel from, probably 2008?

    34. IngieBee, restringing these girls can be a challenge. Not the worst (that honor goes to the Secretdoll Baby Fairies, what a PAIN), but not fun. I tend to use 1-2mm elastic cording that's sold in the jewelry section, but Denver Doll has little kits. Small forceps are your friend as is a length of thin floral wire.

I see the notice from the 2017 reopening, but I'm pretty sure Rainman took his ball and went home as far as the tiny fairy kids go. I don't believe the Seedlings are on-topic for DoA, unfortunately.

    35. I’m glad to see people posting here again! I’ve had some luck with picco neemo 1/12 clothes but they are expensive and not that easy to find.

      • x 1
    36. I have some picco neemo clothes as well, such nice clothes but can be hard to put on. But looks fantastic!

    37. Just thought I'd report I bought a couple, thanks. For the heads up. :thumbup

    38. OMGosh, both of those are just too awesome! The best I ever found was a mountain bike LOL

    39. Where do you get clothes for the tinies! I have one here but the clothes she came with seem a little big..same with her wig.

    40. Nissa's shirt is from the Bratz Babyz line, and I believe the Sparrows got their outfits directly from Elfdoll back in the day? Nowadays I know Denver Doll has had ED tiny outfits, I know IngieBee was able to pick up a couple recently. Topper Dawn doll items sometimes fit as well. I've heard that Picco Neemo items fit, but I don't have any personal experience with those, so I can't verify.

@beamlette, Nissa has had expensive vehicle tastes for a while.

    41. Pico neemo stuff is amazing, but if you get non-stretch material it can be extremely hard to put on. But anything stretch you would be perfect. I still got some Alice type dresses that I was able to put on. Because my girls need restringing and I still have not gotten any string, I can't really take pictures right now. I need to get on this I love them so much!!

And yes, @beamlette exactly like those!!

And @clochette , that's just going too far! A classic 1920s runabout? Seriously? I'm not jealous, nope, not me, (glancing at Matt's suddenly WAY less cool bicycle) :shudder:shudder:shudder

    42. Alas for Nissa, she didn't get to bring that home. She was actually very lucky to get to be in it at all because the shop had multiple "don't touch" signs, but the salesperson was quite enchanted with her, so she was allowed to do a test drive.

The Elfdolls are very spoiled here, being 1/12 gives them the advantage of having all sorts of items that are in scale with them.

    43. Yes, and I was going to make them a highrise appartment building out of a shelf unit but life got in the way. I should finish that now that the kids are all grown and out of the house :D

Which makes me wonder, are we going to still be here in 20 years? Is this hobby going to last forever? LOL, I sure hope so!

    44. Thank you!

    45. Well, for me it's been almost 16 years since my first BJD came home, and then longer still being interested in the hobby, so I think I'm likely in for the long run.

      Xxluckyf8xx, you're welcome.

      • x 1
    46. The reason why that came to mind is because the Elfdolls were the first dolls I fell in love with. I don't remember how I even wound up here?? But Adel was my first BJD :D It's only been 14 years for me, but dolls since I was born, LOL :D

So happy to see this thread active :D

    47. Here's to wishing everyone a lovely holiday and spring. :thumbup

    48. Aw, Min actually doesn't look so cranky there, LOL

    49. @clochette, I think your Min has more of a smirk -- a very authoritative smirk :3nodding::lol:

      • x 1
    50. I want her so bad. Do you know of anyone who would like to sell one or trade for her sister Jin?

    51. It's been over two years! Would love to see some Elfdoll tiny pics. I'm missing my old Elfdoll tinies (adel and bong sun hwa) and always keep an eye out for one's being rehomed. Currently there's a catsy in the marketplace/fb and two adel and a sylph on eBay. The temptation!
