Elfdoll 14cm TinyDoll discussion Part 4

Sep 26, 2011

    1. Pathy Your girl looks gorgeous. I love the way that these Elfdoll tinies have a more teenage look about them rather than childlike. I just hope I can find some clothes for my incoming girl!
      DanceCat
Thank you for that information. I have ordered a doll from Kemper in size 2/3 which I hope will fit. I really can't get my head around just how tiny these dolls are.

I do hope that Elfdoll will release more bodies in the future (and more dolls) I have bought an off topic body which will hopefully work in the short term and will be on the lookout for a genuine body if and when they become available again.

    2. Princess starburst- tinybear can make wool wigs that small. If she is still making them, I always ask for her to use a real thin piece to make the wigs and they have been really nice. I think she still makes them but I haven't spent much time on doa to check

    3. I ended up with 6 heads and only two bodies!! So, I also had to invest in the off-topic (Azone) bodies just so they could be dolls instead of heads! LOL There's nothing I hate more than floating heads!

    4. wanted to share a photo of all my girls wearing their lovely dresses from BlueDollyKiss

      Left to right:
Aurin (Sarangelo Teacup doll), Chuu (Elfdoll Bong Sun Hwa), Rii (Elfdoll Min Del Re), Oni (Elfdoll Olivia)

May from BlueDollyKiss is so talented, she made these dresses not even having an elfdoll tiny anymore and they fit perfectly, the girls and I love them!

    5. Bluehaiku I love Tinybear wigs. I have one for my incoming puki ;-) in regards to the 'free' bodies, I haven't seen anything about that. It sounds too good to be true but I can hope!!
Dancecat true, the only thing almost as bad as floating heads is floating bodies!
Annina Thanks for sharing your lovely girls in their pretty new dresses. Some people are so talented, especially when it comes to making clothes for tiny dolls. I tried to sew a Puki sized dress and it was a nightmare! I nearly tore my hair out in the process! I had a Teacup doll when I first started collecting dolls. I sold her when I got in t the BJD hobby and I have regretted it ever since. She was an amazing doll.

    6. PrincessStarburst, aww sorry to hear you sold your Teacup doll. I always wanted one but missed the initial times when one could pre-order, I got my girl when she sold off the last ones on etsy and I'm so glad I could get her, she's so cute!
I agree about the people who can sew or knit so tiny, it is truly a skill!

I hope everyone waiting on dolls or heads will get them soon! And I wonder what elfdoll will go on to do after, hoping for tinies as well.

    7. Annina, Chuu looks so pretty! I love her orange dress and braids.

    8. Thank you Nauticaa, I think so too that this dress is perfect for little Chuu! :)

Icicle, happy monday to you too and your girl is lovely! Love her dress, did you make it?

    9. Thank you! No, I didn't make the dress -- it came in a lot of Kelly clothes -- but someone else must have. Hiro claimed it immediately and I think it suits her.

    10. how lovely, it's perfect for her!

    11. I love your Kai twins, William, and all your Elfdoll girls! You have such beautiful sets and miniatures for them, and I also love that you take these beautiful photos outside, you're an inspiration to me!

    12. Aww!!! Thank you so much, Annina!!! That really is so kind of you. I really enjoy your pictures too! keep posting! :)

    14. Hey everyone! I can't seem to post pictures directly on to DOA. I've tried basically everything including, copying and pasting from iPhoto and dragging my pictures from Flickr but nothing seems to work. Tips would be much appreciated!! :)

    15. You can't copy and paste or drag the photo. You need to use a link to your photo hosting site. On flickr you have to get the link. I think you can use the one in the share your photo box. I don't have many pictures on flickr.

    16. William, while on your photo page on flickr of the photo you want to share, click the little curved arrow on the lower right that says "Share this photo" when you hover over it. Then choose "BBcode" and then below it choose the size you want to share, one of the Medium's is usually fitting for forums. Then copy that whole link right into the post here, and that's it.
Hope it helps and you can post your lovely photos!

    17. Thanks for the tips, Nancy and Annina!!! I'll have to try that out tonight. But whenever I take the URL from Flickr it doesn't work and it just comes up with a question mark like above. Hopefully I will figure it out. Thank you!!! :)

    18. William, it is usually pre set to another code, not the BB code and that is why it is coming up as a question mark when you post. Once you choose the BB option and copy and paste the link then all you need to do is paste it here and VOILA!!! Good luck.

    19. I adore that photo William! Do you mind if I post the complete link here? If so then please let me know and I will remove it.
Not my photo this belongs to William1122

    20. Myah got her new eyes. She feels much better now that she can see. I did find putting such small eyes in a tiny head a teeny bit stressful!

    21. Aww such lovely girls both of them, thankyou for the photos PrincessStarburst and William!

    22. I got my first elfdoll tiny today, she was second hand from the market place. She's gorgeous!

Does anybody have suggestions on where to get wigs and what the right size is? I see my girl as having longer hair.

    23. They take 2.5 wigs. Puki size is too big but size 2 is too small. Kemper has nice wigs, and monique I think. Or Tinybear or other mohair custom wig makers can usually do their size. Also, use the white sticky wall putty to help hold it on, doesn't stain and leaves you with no headaches or lost wigs.

    24. Thanks, I appreciate the suggestions.

    25. Congrats! She is very pretty! :)

    26. Thank you! Here's another photo: [IMG]

    27. Congratulations dolls&tea and I'm loving all the photos from everyone!

I have one of Rii and Chuu welcoming a new member to the doll family, they call her the Grump though her real name is Ida, she's pretty grumpy though and even outgrumps Rii with her Min Del Re grumpiness. ;) (She's a Hemlig doll Myling, porcelain)

    28. I just saw an announcement on the Elfdoll website. They expect to be back in March of 2015. The site will be down for awhile while they change servers.

    29. Hi I just bought 2 heads ( awake and asleep) Elf doll Lyn
are ter bodies for this type doll

    30. Check out the Elfdoll 14 cm Tiny thread in the Asian Tiny Section. There are a lot of posts on this subject starting at around page 26. I used an Azone Picco Neemo body with my Bong head, but there are other suggestions here.

    31. I don't think they are. Elfdoll will be down and revamping until March. There are a couple of alternate body options. The one I know is Pico Neemo Azone bodies. Look into those.

    32. Hey you all, I have two heads from elfdoll lyn
Is there possibiliy that in the future I will find a body?

    33. I have a question for once (instead of answering them). I have a very lonely open eyed Dodo head with no body. I had got her with a preloved fullset of the most recent Dodo but I prefer the closed eyed head for Renee. So the open eyed head is without a body. I was considering pico neemo, but I don't really like the aesthetic of it. Someone had posted another type of body that looked better proportionately and was more mature. I was wondering if it ended up working if they got it and where I could get it too? I can't find the old link and don't want to dig. If that's not possible, can I get suggestions as to alternate bodies (even resin ones) for the Dodo head I have?

    34. I am using picco neemo for my Elfdoll heads at the moment. I bought the S body type. I know that William said that the other type (M?) would work too. William is the expert on bodies for Elfdoll, if it wasn't for him and his help my girls would be floating heads!! Apart from that I am not really sure what other bodies would work but would be interested to find out.

    35. I love this girl Princess S she is so pretty. My Bong just got back from the spa . Will post photos soon , I am really thrilled with her

    36. I can't wait to see your Bong, Imajica! I really hope they will release the tinies again like they did last year so that I could get a Min head. Hopefully they will! :)

    37. Ooh photos please imajica!!!

    38. http://[IMG]I've been away from DoA for a few months after a busy summer and fall. Went back into the doll room today and started playing with Miss Yong and decided she needs a new wig cap; I've been trying to find a tutorial to do these things with no luck. Can anyone share? Here's a pic of my travel buddy from last month when we went to Maui. She is performing hula kahiko at Haleakala Crater.

    39. Since Elfdoll had that tutorial on their Info board I'm sure they won't mind me sharing it, so I uploaded it to imgur for you, I hope this link works:

Elfdoll Tiny Wigmaking Tutorial by Rainman

Miss Yong is lovely, good luck with the wigmaking! I have been meaning to make one like it for my Oni (Olivia) but yeah, I never seem to get to it. One day!

    40. Miss Yong looks beautiful in her flower dress and headpiece! Be sure to take some pictures when she gets her new wig! :)

    41. Thank you annina, this is exactly what I was looking for :) Will try to get something made today for Miss Yong.
Yes I will share pics of it William1122, and she thanks you very kindly for the complement.

    42. Shulamite, I look forward to seeing photos of the new wig. Bong is my favourite Elf Doll ;-)

Does anyone know if Monster High Dolls Clothes fit Tiny Elfdolls? I was in Kmart today and they had the dolls on special. Some of the outfits looked like they might fit (Tiny skirts and shorts) But I didn't want to waste money if they were going to be too big. I have tried googling but couldn't find any information.

This is Freya in her new Bratz Kids outfit.

    43. Princess- I haven't tried them on per se....but I know they will be too big. MH are slender...but they have big hips and Elfdolls are even more slender. You girl looks adorable in that wig...the color with her faceup is so neat.

    44. Thank You Teseya, that makes sense. Yes, I love this pink wig. It is too big but with the help of some eye putty it stays on her head. I just love the idea of going to the local store and picking up clothes for my dolls without having to shop online and wait for overseas shipping!!! I can do that with the pukipuki because Kelly clothes fit and there are even some fake kelly type dolls whose clothes will work. I guess I should be satisfied with that for now :-)

    45. Kelly clothes fit. Just a little short in the pants sometimes. And of course Bratz kids...but you knew that.

    46. Wheee: Allow me to liven things up a bit:

Spiller Having "Dreadful" Fun (2) by Mandasmac, on Flickr

I managed to scrape together the cash to commission SherbetLollyDolly for a Kai wig: Worth. Every. Penny!!! Because she molds hard-cap wigs directly onto the head of one of her own dolls, the fit is AMAZING!!! People who own a Kai know what a strange little head He/She has. Sherbet's wig fits so snugly that I don't need eye putty or double-sided tape to keep it in place ✽gush-gush✽

    47. I love your Spiller! I really should have continued with my borrower photostories. Would be awesome if we could get together to do them. I've just started learning how to make hard cap wigs. I made one for my realpuki today (he's hard to fit b/c he has a point on the top of his noggin) and I've made a headcap wig for my Lyn before. I need to get some mohair in some colors to make some more wigs.

    48. Hey everyone! I'm looking for some clothes for a tiny that's about the same size as the elfdoll tinies. She needs something fae-like and woodsy or mori-esque but more mature and not childish. Does anyone have suggestions on where to shop? I've checked out DollinStyle and the Azone Pure Neemo and neemo XS clothes but most of it is too lolita or modernized. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    49. You might try MixiMichi. She had some fairy type examples in her sold section -- perhaps she could do a custom/special order?

    50. Or beadloomgallery on etsy. She does fairylike crochet stuff. She does custom, but you might want to ask if she does Elfdoll tinies.

    51. Thank you both! I had seen MixiMichi but I didn't check out her sold items! And I hadn't at all seen beadloomgallery! Both are great suggestions!
