Narrative Elf on the Shelf bjd style

Dec 2, 2015

    1. So adorable! I kinda don't want Christmas to get here just because I don't want Flame's adventures to end!

      Hey!

The little snowman in the globe ---

--- has the same smile as me!

Maybe he loves his Christmas time as much as I do!

One of the things every Christmas Elf must master is gift wrapping.

Flame sometimes struggles with getting those corners tucked in neatly.

But Elfonda is happy with his progress and encourages him to keep practicing.

Which is very good news for me,

Because I have a stack that still needs to be wrapped!

    5. I wonder if Flame would consider helping me. I could use some help and none of my BJDs are talented when it comes to gift wrapping.

    6. December 14th

Flame climbed up on a chair to practice his photography

He wanted to get closer to eye level because he has heard how unattractive "up the nose" shots can be.

And he wanted his photos of Lieutenant Zenawii Tulusson and his wife, Elfonda Schelf, to be as perfect as possible.

Tonight is the night of the Starship Officers' annual Christmas Party and Elfonda has a new dress for the occasion.

    7. I'm afraid that he is kept far too busy here to consider making any travel plans before January.

      :abambi:

I'm not even going to ask him.

      :eusa_sile

Because he might accept and abandon me right when I need him most!

      • x 1
    8. Naa . . . I don't think Flame would abandon you. I'm sure he loves both you and the rest of your gang too much. Besides you can make nice new clothes for him.

I love Elfonda's new dress. The photo of just Zenawii and Elfonda is that the one Flame took? If so he's very good at taking pictures. All in all he seems to be a very talented guy.

      Dustbunnie

    9. Flame took some lovely photos! Maybe he could give us a few tips that some of us might have forgotten. :)

    10. December 15th

Flame is reading one of his favourite Christmas stories to the girls.

It's not 'supposed' to be a horror story, but little Neelie looks worried!

I think it might be that line about "He sees you when you're sleeping."

You don't think her bedtime thumb sucking habit puts her on the "naughty" side of the list, do you?

      • x 4
    11. Of course not!

      Teddy

    12. so glad i stumbled upon this thread :D what a perfect little helper flame is!

    13. Don't forget to add it to your "watched" list then. Another 10 mini photostories to go before the big day!

EEP! Running out of ideas! It's not as easy to do this with a precious BJD worth hundreds of dollars as it is to do with a cheap, wire legged, "Elf on the Shelf" from the story book available everywhere. Those little dolls can hang upside down from ceiling fans but I dare not do that kind of thing with Flame!

    14. December 16th

When Elfonda found Flame way up high on the fireplace mantle,

darting about, playing amongst all the Christmas stuffies,

she thought perhaps he was hiding, shirking his duties as an apprentice Elf on the Shelf.

But after questioning him she discovered he was just up there waiting around, hoping for a date.

Oh no! Not *THAT* kind of date! He's too young for that.

No, Flame figures maybe he should have "2015" tattooed on his foot or perhaps embroidered on his clothing. I guess he would like to announce his arrival date like everyone else up there.

    15. Reminds me of ET hiding out in the closet. :)

      • x 1
    16. lol how true. but much cuter than et!

    17. And he has not yet asked for a telephone for calling home... ;)

    18. Oh that is so cute. :) Everyone needs to feel like they belong somewhere or to someone, even mischievious little elves like Flame.

Perhaps you could make him a Christmas pixie hat with the date on the white turn back, Wovenflame???

    19. I second this idea!
loving this so far! i genuinely look forward to new posts everyday.:D

    20. That would be adorable!

      Teddy

    21. Og course Neelie isn't on the naughty list! (Although I suspect at least a couple of my PukiFees are. Not mentioning any names . . cough Quark . . cough Joy . . cough Snowdrop . . )

I love the idea of a Christmas hat witl the year on even though a scarf would work too.

    22. December 17th,

Elfonda caught Flame in the bathroom painting his teeth blue.

He had heard the grownups talking about how a great assortment of Christmas music is available for free if you have a "Bluetooth speaker".

He figured with a little paint he could make everyone happy and become a speaker with blue teeth!

Luckily he hadn't done any permanent damage to his teeth and Elfonda was able to explain blue tooth technology and radio stations like "Jango" and "AccuRadio". Now we have as much Christmas music as we want and in the genre's that appeal to us.

    23. Oh gosh! Thanks, Elfonda!

    24. Oh my, just what a kid in flesh and bones would have done, too!

      • x 1
    25. thank goodness for elfonda!

      • x 1
    26. He says "take LOTS of photos and then spend some time editing".

Well you know a telephone call to distant relatives is one of the possiblities on my list but it's coming up with a phone he can handle that is the problem.

That's actually a great idea, but I doubt that I'll have time. I'm frantically scrambling to accomplish all that must be done in the next week.

    27. December 18th

Our first small skiff of snow fell today. Most of the snowflakes melted shortly after hitting the ground.
Slush doesn't work well for snow angels.

Flame was terribly disappointed but Elfonda took pity,

and allowed him to play indoors with a mound of marshmallows.

He is having so much fun I don't think he'll miss the Rice Krispie squares she had planned.

    29. snow that isn't cold, and doesn't get you wet! that's perfect! if you want some of the colder stuff we seem to be have a white christmas here so far, you can all come visit us :)

    30. That is so tempting! It is springy warm here, and not even the littlest snowflake is to be seen.

    31. Looks like wonderful fun! We just got 10" of snow on Wednesday and Thursday, not so much fun but the garden is now nicely protected.

    32. aww marshmallow snow! I'm in the same boat as @El BJD we got nearly a foot of snow last weekend.

    36. Great! Now all my PukiFees and LittleFees are struggeling with each other to be right in front of the screen and they all have their mouths open wide. They are kind of looking like this: :drool

At least the RealFees haven't seen what exactly is going on. It does make it hard for me to see the screen with all the kids in front of it. SIGH!

Edit to say: BTW Auntbear I'm comming to visit you . . . . as soon as I can get my teleporter to work.

For Flame's final assignment in Gingerbread House building class he handed in a Gingerbread Millennium Falcon.

Elfonda's not quite sure if she should give him a failing grade because it's NOT a "house" as requested, and not at all traditional ---

-- or if she should give him an A because he showed creativity, originality, and that he could keep up with modern trends.

    38. Reminds me of my brother and me racing to Eaton's basement every Saturday morning to watch cartoons on their new colour TV's! lol

    39. Oh wow! Elfonda should go with the A+++

    40. That is a fantastic Millenium Flacon! He fullfilled his task with a lot of creativity and worked very accurate. That deserves an A+.

    41. I have a solution! Buy them their own bag of marshmallows and open it away from the computer. Drop hints about marshmallow fights, marshmallow forts, and marshmallow "snow" angels.

I'll let her know that "the people" have voiced their opinion and given him high marks and she shouldn't go against the popular vote.

    42. December 21st

Um --- Flame? Elfonda asked you to fill the candy dish --

I don't think a game of marbles is quite what she had in mind when she sent you out there.

Flame found himself a Merry-go-round with a lot of extra bling.

Elfonda is hoping he didn't eat too many sweets before he climbed up there and got the contraption spinning wildly!

    46. I'm hoping with Alfonda. :eusa_pray

Even though it's many many years ago - you know during the stone age or something - I still remember when I was a child getting on one of those carosels you get to spin by kicking on the ground, I got quite sick. It was at a birthday party and I guess I'd had too much cake and soda and icecream. *_*

I would not want anything like that to happen to Flame.

    47. hmm, Yes, all fun and games until someone starts -- well, you know.

That's very kind of you to wish Flame well. I was a child in the stone ages too and remember those torture devices quite clearly. I don't think getting sick required eating anything at all! Not that I witnessed anyway. My granddaughters have introduced me to more modern versions that are even worse! There is this upside down mushroom cap shaped seat that spins around horrendously and is hard as heck to STOP and get out of if you are alone. Just sayin'.

    48. ooh, sounds like fun! i was a stone age kid too, i remember those things too, and being terribly disappointed when they got rid of them when i was a teenager because some kids got thrown off and broke their arms. there were so few pieces of playground equipment anyway, not like the modern schoolgrounds... and yes, i walked miles to school... through two feet of snow.... up hill both ways. modern kids have it easy getting bused everywhere

      • x 1
    49. I too played on those old spinners and walked a mile to school both ways when I was only 4, in both fair weather and snow. The school was an old one room with 1 teacher and 8 grades.

    50. that would be a fun scene to do with dolls. i have more than enough of them to set up a full school. maybe next christmas i can do a one room elf school and take pointers from elfonda :)

Knowing that the next few days would be extremely busy Elfonda took a moment this evening to dial the long distance number for Flame to phone the folks back home.

She could hear the excitement in his voice as he stage whispered, "It's ringing!"

      He chatted with relatives,

      and good friends,

And made sure to wish each and every one of them a Very Merry Christmas!

    53. December 24th

After setting out a plate of cookies for Santa, and a bundle of carrots for his reindeer, the kids checked to be sure the stockings were hung where he would find them.

Of course Elfonda and Zenawii had them sit for their annual Christmas Eve picture in front of the tree, but when bedtime was announced all three begged to be allowed to wait up for Santa. They had full intentions of staying up all night if need be, even though little Neelie was already looking mighty tired.

It wasn't long at all before Neelie was carried off to bed, sound asleep.

Peanut and Flame didn't quite make it either.

    56. Aw, they are adorable! The fireplace and tree are fantastic!

    57. So cute! I hope Santa is good to all those little darlings.

    58. December 25th

All too early the kids woke up and realized that it was Christmas morning. Their giggles woke the grown ups.

Stockings were dumped out and presents were enthusiastically ripped into.

Neelie's Little Tykes equipment was a big hit. Santa must have had a tough time dragging that down the chimney!

The kids were busy with it, and their other new toys, all morning.

Which was great because it gave Zenawii a chance to get the turkey into the oven while Elfonda made breakfast.

Flame made sure that Zenawii and Elfonda opened some presents too.

He could hardly wait for everyone to open the gifts he had chosen.

Elfonda loved the necklace Flame made for her.
