eBay seller "blood518jiae" - fishy auctions?

Jun 6, 2011

    1. I found a few BJDs on eBay, sold by seller "blood518jiae" who only has 4 feedback (100% positive). The link to his/her profile can be found here:
      http://myworld.ebay.com/blood518jiae/?_trksid=p4340.l2559

They also have a DoA profile:

Everything seems well, but offering these Iplehouse BJDs cheap and without their box, while marked as 'used', smells a bit fishy to me. I'm new to the BJD world, perhaps experienced members can shed their light on this seller..? Thanks in advance.

    2. Isn't this the Sugarble rep? Yup, I'm confused >.<

    3. Yes, that's why it confused me as well. So far I haven't seen him/her listed as an official Iplehouse dealer. But getting a new blank doll without a box/certificate (according to the auctions the 'boxes are out of stock') doesn't sound right one way or another.. right?

    4. The "I" doesnt have the logo on the back of her head either.
(not looked at the others yet)
      Very weird indeed

    5. Hadn't even noticed that yet, thanks for pointing it out.
I'm a bit torn here, I'd love to have an Amy, but not a fake one.

    6. Jerome is also missing the logo. I'd definitely be wary of purchasing. Have you contacted Iple regarding this seller?

    7. Well the new JID body should be released this month, andno doubt IH will release the rest of the JID girls again. The Amy has the logo on her head. :?

    8. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure Iplehouse doesn't work with dealers AT ALL...

    9. I was thinking that's the case Evelien but I'm not finding it on their site anywhere. It seems pretty sketchy to me considering that the girl sculpts aren't even available from the actual Iple site.

    10. Well, they aren't exactly mint condition, are they? ;) I've asked her where I's head logo is, and the certificate (hinting how do I know it's authentic) so I'll let you guys know what the answer is!

TBF, what if they come from her personal collection? Could explain the lack of boxes (the lack of certificate worries me more...)? Also, isn't the whole point of ebay to put a low price and watch it increase with the snipe bidding ?

I'm not too worried about it, especially as it's only a few dolls and they are her own pictures, so maybe she's more comfortable with selling on ebay than say, here? And it's only one of each, not like a dealer and unlimited stock.

tl:dr, if you're uncomfortable taking the risk, don't buy it ;)

    11. I sent the seller a PM on DoA. They deserve a chance to shed some light on the matter, right? :) Wonder what they will say.

@Adhara, somehow I missed your post. Well.. the seller *is* a dealer for the Sugarble brand, and saying they don't have the box anymore I would understand, but saying that the boxes are 'no longer in stock' is something entirely different.. it's just a bit odd. And to me they kinda do look in mint condition, like they've never had a faceup, but I'm only a newb, what do I know ^^

    12. Adhara definitely raises some good points there. I'll be interested to hear what the seller has to say in response to your message Evelien!

    13. Evelian: Oh, I know she's a dealer, but that doesn't mean she's not allowed to buy other companies' dolls for herself, right? Thinking about it, you're right, the dolls do look mint condition, but I think some sellers say 'used' instead, just so if the doll has a tiny scratch on it, the buyer can't complain that it's NOT mint condition and demand a refund D:

Also, the fact that she puts up her own pictures, and is only selling one of each item kinda proves it's just selling on a doll she already has. If she WAS selling fake dolls, she'd use the Iplehouse promotional pictures and say it's a preorder/20+ in stock AND have a BIN price as opposed to an auction.

The whole 'boxes not in stock' could be bad wording, but it does seem strange.

    14. I think you're right, but that still doesn't explain the lack of logos...
Perhaps that explains why she listed them as 'Used', the logos fell off? :P

    15. Could be from her personal collection. Iple logos were known to fall off, but mine haven't yet.

You can only get their dolls through Iple websites as they don't do dealership like most companies do.

    16. Oh okay, that's good to know, about the logos easily falling off! Thanks :D Hers having fallen off suggests that she played with the dolls a lot, but they don't look played with.. hm. Perhaps we'll only see those marks when we zoom in or see the dolls irl ;)

And yeah, I had a feeling about the non-existence of Iplehouse dealers. :)

    17. Several of my Iplehouse dolls came without logos, directly from the company. There's a spot for them, but they weren't there. And my WS Asa head's logo fell off the day I got it. I had to glue it back on.

    18. Okay... this is really weird. The auctions were cancelled and I got this message:

If someone gets it, please let me know, because I'm lost :P

    19. I got that message too, and I'm really confused as well.

One reason may be that she doesn't want to mix up her dealership usernames with her personal stuff? I mean, that idea is the whole reason why this thread is here in the first place... I'd rather believe this, than believe we've secretly we've caught her out, because there's no evidence to prove she was doing anything wrong. That'd be horrible of us to assume negatively.

    20. Indeed. I had just come to the point where I completely trusted her and I placed my bid... and then she cancelled all auctions :(. I insisted that I was really interested in the Amy doll, but she sent me another PM saying that the auction was over and that was that.

Meh. Shouldn't have said anything :(. I don't get it though. At all.
