Knitting Easy Knit Capelet for SD-size BJDs

Easy Garter Stitch Capelet for SD-sized (22 to 24 inch tall) BJDs

Model is 22 inch tall Volk’s Kun.

Note: This pattern uses short rows.

8 sts/inch 14 rows/inch in garter st (A loose fabric will have better drape.)

U.S. #4 (3.5 mm) needles and sock yarn

Cast on 24 sts. K 2 rows.
Next row: K12 sts, TURN. Sl1 as if to p, k11 sts.
K all sts for 2 rows.
Repeat the last 3 rows for 6 inches, measured on collar edge (shorter edge) laid straight.
Bind off in k st. Weave in ends.

Note: The capelet can be closed with a ribbon threaded through the work at the neck, or with a button backed with a snap or hook and eye. You can also work a yarn-over buttonhole at the first turn, if you’d like the capelet to button. Be sure the button will pass through the yarn-over buttonhole before sewing button in place. You can also crochet a button loop of any size on the front edge, if you wish.
