Sewing Easy elastic waist / pajama style pants for SID and similar dolls

Jun 18, 2016

    1. Hi guys!
I've created this pattern for some easy-to-make pants for SID, but since the waist is fitted with elastic and the legs are cut long, it will fit a big variety of dolls. Even my EID Super Hero can squeeze into them, though just barely. If you want to make them for an EID, you might want to add a little wiggle room to one side of either pattern piece. ^^

They make awesome pajama pants in flannel or plaid print cotton. They're also great for regular old casual pants, too. I made this pair with scrap cotton left over from a friend's cosplay:

The printable PDF of the pattern is free for personal use, as always, and available on my sewing page here:

And if you need or want them, here are video instructions for assembly:

      Happy sewing!

    2. Love the pants, love the video! You make it all look so easy. I will resize the pattern to MSD and give it a go. *feels inspired* Thank you so much! :D

    3. I always hated making trousers but you make it seem so simple! Thank you for the tutorial, can't wait to get sewing again ^^

    4. You're welcome, I'm glad it's useful! I remember having a tough time with pants the first few times too, then I worked out this assembly order that made it a lot easier to do. ^^ It certainly helps speed up the process!

    5. Such a nice and easy pattern! I love that it consists of only four pieces and the elastics :) and the video makes it look super simple. I will definitely try this pattern next time I have time to sit down and sew.

    6. Hi and thanks for sharing this! <3
Exactly what I was looking for.as I was planning to make my BJD buddy some pyjama's.
I'm a beginner in BJD and sewing, literary started sewing yesterday and I had this in mind to make.
Seemed to me one of the easiest things to make and I love pyjama's.
Hope I can manage it by hand as I dont have a sewing machine, at least not yet

    7. Wow! Thanks for the informative video and history lesson. This has made me want to finally try and make Christmas pjs for my dolls. I know for some it may seem to early for holiday projects, but,It will take me some time to make them all. Thanks again!

    8. Thank you for sharing! I'm not great at sewing but this at least looks accomplishable ^^

    9. Thank you again @Myuuchan, I finally got around making pants for my RD Dracula Marcus from this pattern. They are a bit too big for him and the fabric I used perhaps wasn't the best, but they turned out really nice I think :XD:

I got my first BJDs like a minth ago and only reason why I got them were to crochet and sew my own cloths for them.

I will post pics when I ha e made the pants =)
