I really should restring my Kete... But that task is such a pain I don't want to do it, even though normally I like restringing dolls XP

 

Maybe try hot glue sueding her or wiring her first? If that works then you avoid the hassle of restringing.... at least a bit longer! Both of my girls have wiring (used a white pipe-cleaner that had been trimmed down with dots of glue on the ends to keep the wire from scratching the resin!)

(The task of restringing a Krot is so daunting I'm just pretending I will never have to do it!)

 

SmoteyMote- are your Kete's eyes OscarDoll or MehiArt or something else?

I just bought an Arie from another DoA member and am pretty excited for her to arrive. I was pretty obsessed with the Krot sculpts a while back, but prioritized waiting for a possible Miki Noxe preorder which it turns out they never intend to offer. Oops. But I'm completely in love with Helo and Ilus and that reminded me of how badly I'd wanted an Arie before, too.
Good news regarding Helo and Ilus, btw...I want them so badly and was so worried they'd be ultra-limited local-exclusives like Noxe that I gave in and asked DoD on facebook about it. I got a very kind reply, and yes, the two new Krots are likely to be up for preorder at some point in the future although they don't know for sure when.

 

Oh that's so good to know! I should message them about the new Appi dolls then too, I am hoping it's the same!

Kete uses 8mm oscardoll! I think that you could get 6mm for Arie but I found that I preferred simpler eyes in my Arie because of how small her eye holes are! The glass ones I had from Captured in Glass worked out very well.

 

Thank you! I was just curious about the brand, I'm starting to really like sparkly fantasy urethane eyes and most of my tinies take 8mm. I think Arie is gonna end up stealing some of the swirl/flower/star patterned 6mm round beads the fairy in my avatar's been hoarding, they're simple and nice bright colors.
I hope you'll get good news re: preorders too!

 

Likewise! I used to hate the sparkly eyes but now all my dolls have them!

My biggest issue is that I really like fantasy colors so I might just have to hope they do a few more limited color releases and that I can get in on one! I still haven't managed to find anyone looking to rehome their krotzilla Arie which is really who I'm after right now!

 

She got here today and I can't actually deal with how cute this doll is, help.

I'm still working on figuring out wig making; the easily available wigs for tiny dolls always look so huge and weirdly shaped. I found synthetic fiber that I think I really like and wefting is going fine but I don't know if I'm confident about actually assembling it into wigs? At least the color I picked for Arie before she got here really does look nice with her resin.

Custom made mohair wigs look great on them, including yours! That blue-gray is lovely.
I just really want synthetic for a number of reasons.

Is there a way to stop their wrists from popping half out of the sockets all the time? I feel like I'm gonna end up chipping the edges pretty bad because of it.

 

I personally really like angora fiber wigs! The fiber is a lot smoother and softer and less fly-away than the regular mohair.

Its no biggie - it wasn't until I got an angora mohair wig that I realized there was a difference! Not that the others aren't lovely and soft too but there's just something.... insanely soft about the angora fiber! It's difficult to stop touching it!

I bought these eyes at the exhibition in Kiev. They have a diameter of 6 mm, 3 mm diameter of the iris, the pupil 1 mm.
This exhibition will be with us again soon, after a few weeks, I can buy some more

@Taskasbears I forgot to reply, I'm so sorry XD; Thank you! The wig is 100% acrylic yarn Somehow this type of yarn turns out better than other acrylics for wigs (the threads are more twisted than usual yarn).
