Duncan's DC-100 Doll Composition Body. Anybody used this?

Apr 6, 2014

    1. Has anyone ever worked with this stuff? I'd love to hear your opinion of it.

Is there any shrinkage? All the websites that have it for sale mention nothing about it. However this is not a kiln-fire slip so I suspect that has something to do with it.

It also says that it can be tinted with acrylic. Has anyone tried it? How did that work out?

    2. Hi,
I used this stuff years ago when I use to make porcelain dolls. I used it to test my molds and make dolls for people who didn't want porcelain. There is a small amount of shrinkage. You have to use plaster molds with it. When it dries it's very hard. I still have stuff I casted in it. But remember it's still breakable but not as bad as porcelain. I didn't tint it with acrylic, I used it straight and airbrushed the bodies. You can also bake it in the oven to make the stuff harder.
      Regards.
