I use either of them. The smaller lens (kit lens) is nicer for wider shots or for just quick snaps here and there, whereas the bigger one is better when using a tripod! It's quite heavy otherwise.

I started photographing in 2002 with a basic digital camera and in 2005 my parents bought their DSLR which I was able to use. I used to take photos mostly of animals, but after getting into the doll hobby, my dolls are the main thing to photograph. Though photographing has been my hobby for many years already, I still feel like there's lots of things to learn. I wish to improve myself step by step and get better at taking pictures :3

When it comes to dolls, I don't have much experience with different lenses but I think something along the lines of default would be good so you could get some zoom/macro but have the farther away choice as well.

I shoot most kinds. Portraits, Nature, Animals, Still-life. I like variety :]

I made the switch from Nikon to Canon so currently the only lenses I have is a Sigma 50mm f/1.4 and a Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro. I'm working on getting the Canon 85mm f/1.8.

I LOVE my 100mm macro. Obviously it being a macro lets me get dangerously close, but its a wonderful portraiture lens because of its focal length. Love it.

I shoot everything. I'm a wedding photographer on the weekends, but I also do portraits, still life, nature, concerts, fashion, commercial, etc.

8. What is your favorite lens to use with your DSLR when photographing your dolls and why?
Canon 50mm Prime 1.8 mostly because it is the only lens I have at the moment... and it works great for the style of photostories I do.

I mostly take pictures of dolls at the moment, but I do take pictures of any hearts I find, of other things in my life. I also plan on photographing pictures of my various artworks. Here are some examples

I would say I am 3/4 Beginner and 1/4 intermediate. I am still working on learning the different terminology and how all the setting changes affect each other and your end result (picture)

I only use my Macro and my kit lens. The macro is very good for close ups without loosing depth of field and light... and the kit lens are good for full body pictures

Between intermediate and advanced. I've worked in a photo lab for almost 7 years now, I've had a few co-workers who have been photo majors. I don't always understand the why behind settings, but I understand what they do and how to get what I want for the most part. lol
