40–49cm Dolls DS Louis arrived! First msd and first elf

Yay, I love making box opening threads: here my new one, Louis from Doll Leaves.
I got him on a whim in august during DS sales, since he was super cheap... and I decided to try to get him since I could definitely afford him and wanted to try msds anyway. I got him from Newcloversinging (which I can never recommend enough)
I’m sorry for the horrible quality of pictures, but I unboxed the doll at night and the light in the room was awful.

So, let’s start! The package tracking died for days, and I was resigned to not get him this year... which proved wrong, cause I got the doll even before the tracking updated that it was moved from the post office. Yay! And what can I say, my postal service is always like that, but at least the stuff arrives.
He came in a brown Doll Leaves box, gladly with no custom. Yay for that too.

I tried to cut the tape without ruining the doll box inside, and I managed to do it. Oh, a smart thing about DS boxes is that the black lid can be folded and put away to save space! Definitely a smart idea, if you want to just keep around the bottom part of the box to keep the doll, or store the box away saving space.
On top of it there was a cute postcard and some unknown chinese writing... if someone knows chinese and can help me to translate, please contact me, I’m curious! (I’m gonna send you a bigger picture)

And here the box opened. I got a stringing tool and a gift wig (courtesy of Cloversinging).

And here I freed the mummy from his blankets (which are very soft. I love doll blankets ok)

I discovered his neck inside has metal, probably to protect it from chipping with the hook snapping on it. Which proved useful... cause the first time I took his head off the hook just snapped.

Yeah the metal is so smart (and it really saved the neck when the hook snapped away from my fingers )

Yeah probably it's some note about which doll it is, now that I think about it. I'm still curious tho!
Yeah I think shipping rates now are higer than before, to some countries in particular, and probably she couldn't afford to give free shipping and gifts for 3 dolls. But I'm just very happy she offers free shipping to me, cause I save so much!
And yeah the ring is pretty nice, it will prevent horrible accidents! Since the doll is strung pretty tight too, at least I won't make dents on the neck (that compared to my sd is pretty thin so I would be more scared to ruin it).
