    2. An elf!! An elf-head! It looks wonderful. ^.^ I can't wait to see it with a faceup.

    3. Oh my God! That's just amazing! Now I'm torn - I want one, but I also want a Gomidoll Iru, and those are going to be sold out soon... Gah.

Are these going to be limited? And does the resin color match DOC's resin, then?

    4. Will this fit a lut's boy body? I want!

    5. Oh my, that head is gorgeous! Those ears are awesome!

    6. oh wow, its so cute! :D the ears are so detailed and delicate!

    7. Keladry: The resin will similiar to DOD color, but not 100% match.

nepherim: This head is for 40cm Doll, I'm sure It's fit for DOC. But the neck hole of DOC is smaller than other brands, If you want it to fit other 40cm doll you need to enlarge the neck hole yourself.

    8. I just have to say that I really admire your creativity and talent! The head looks amazing!

    9. So gorgeous! *grabby hands* I can't wait to see it in resin!

    10. Can we get a straight-on view?

    16. cheshiretiffy: I'll post the straight-on view picture after I finish the mold.

Yukamina: The material is "LA DOLL" Clay. It takes time to polish, I use liquid putty to make it smooth.

    28. Thank you very much for your walkthrough. I wouls never have thought of using a profile of the doll's head to make the whole doll, but it really is a great idea. Now I finally know how to make the head I have been thinking about for a while. :D

    29. Beautiful results!

    30. Great Walkthrough and the Head is gorgous. I have to say i love~ your drawings. Sorry, i'm such a 2D Person <_<

    35. that is absolutely fantastic...what kind of modeling material did you use to create the model?

    36. Beautiful head!!!

    37. niko60n: I use LA DOLL to create the original model. It's a Stone Dust CLAY

    38. This is my favorite artist head!!!!!!!!!!!! Pretty pretty pretty!!!!!!!!! :D

    39. ^^' I really, really want one. I'll put off buying my elf Ani head to get one of these.

Not to be overly excitable, but any idea when you might start to have these up for sale, so I can have my money ready?

    40. http://www.polymerclayexpress.com/airdryclays.html this place sells Ladoll if anyone is looking for it. I've never seen it sold in stores here in the US, at least stores like hobby lobby and stuff. :3

      I love both your heads shuen~~~ if I wasn't so dead broke. ;o;

    41. http://www.clayalley.com/airdry.htm

Excellent site. Has a bunch of handy little things, including fingernail tools, sand paper, and... well.. just lots, and lots a little fun toys. (She seems to ship FAST too... i think she sent me an email the same day as I ordered something, telling me she sent it.)

Oh, yeah, and Ladoll and premier, too.

http://www.dolkot.com also has Ladoll, and a number of other epoxies, and more toys for your sculpting pleasure.

I went to http://www.best1hobby.com for the Mr. Surfacer and Mr. White Surface that Shuan uses on his dolls. Other toys to be found here as well.

http://www.miniworlddolls.com/CSClays2.htm Must'nt ever forget the first site I bout La Doll from. They even have the GREEN lable LaDoll (option provided when going to buy the Red label), if you're into that...

It nearly breaks my fingers to TRY to work with it, though, just a warning... I can only imagine how strong it might be dry, though... I might use it for things like hands and pointed ears... or bases of them, anyway. A numer of other helpful doll stuff, like buckles, buttons, and so on (though not as many as www.tinyzippers.com , I think..)

There are a number of other, international sites I won't bother to look up right now. ^~

    42. That head is gorgeous. So talented!

      Laura

    43. is la doll very strong? As strong as super sculptey?

    44. Yeah, I think it probably is... it's pretty tough, and light. But don't let it get too wet.

It feels rather nice to work with, too, and is quite pliable. It also smooths EXCELLENTLY with water and a brush... (well, it's not like you can PAINT it on..)

I deffinately prefer it to sculpy.

    45. LA DOLL needs 5mm thickness to ensure it's tough enough.
      Premier about 3mm.
Some of the japanese Doll makers like to mix some woody clay in LA DOLL to make it more durable. There is tenacity of the wood origin in woody clay , when it turns to a large-scale doll that it is strength enough, and can extends it thinly. But It is unsuitable for a detailed forming like Small doll.

    46. It's difficult for detailing large dolls from time to time too.. I tend to purchase cork clay, (probably not a fine enough pulp for detail, honestly) which i mix with my la-doll. It does well for setting up a base around the styrofoam core I use.

I'm playing with your technique now... It made things quite a bit faster, for sure. ^^

I almost think 5mm might not be quite thick enough.. but then I'm making a larger sized head... I think it all depends, in the end, on how big the head is.

    47. Your head is gorgeous!! Definetly one of my favourite elf heads. ^^

Cast head with ivory and DOC fresh colours.
Ivory colour cast with the first mold and the Fresh one cast with the second mold.
I correct the mold for some detail parts like eyelips and mouth.

    49. XD She looks so impish, adventurous and mischevious, and then totally sweet at the same time. Much love.

    50. I love this doll! o.O I must have it! X3 Any price estimate as of yet? Also, what size eyes are those? ^^ *starts saving*

OT: By the way, I love your drawing style! X3

    51. So gorgeous! I also want to know how much she/he will be. :)

    52. Amzing work!

    53. *heart flutter* oh yeeah. =) I want to put one on a long-legged DoC boy body...

    54. Man, I really want one now. Have you figured out a price estimate now? And how well do you think it would match Serendipity's resin?

    55. How cute !

Is it possible to have a side-view of the head ?

(Excuse my poor english, since it's not my natural language -_- )

    56. Incredible tutorial and Your sculpt is beautifull!

    57. I love the head, it's so preety. Your toutorial is great also, my only question is this... when you cut the head to get the infill out, do you take out the sideview guide also, or cut through it and leave it in.
      Thanks.
