50–65cm Dolls Dreaming Doll Isabel

Aug 3, 2025

Isabel is Dreaming Doll's second dark tan release, after Greta which I had to regretfully pass on at the time. I was so excited when it was made available again, and Isabel is just as cute as Greta! As soon as she was open for sale on June 25th. Shortly after paying her off in July, I got the shipment notice, and she was here by August 2nd. It was an unprecedented wait time! I'm so happy, especially because I was thinking she wouldn't make it before de minimus exemption ended, haha...:sigh

She was really well padded in the box.

Seeing this colour was incredible. I remember when Peakswoods releasing tan Goldie was enough to blow me away in the past. The way things were going over the years, I was looking forward to more resin colours being available in darker tones more often. Unfortunately it's still hard to find, and indie artists won't open order groups for extra colours unless they can meet the minimum order quantity.

This is pretty much as she is in reality! My camera does not really capture pink tones no matter how I adjust the white balance, but otherwise it's close.

Just for comparison, I put some other headcaps together with hers. From darkest to lightest is Dreaming Doll dark tan, Dream Valley Coco (from the White Moth release last year), old Fairyland tan from 2016, matched Soom tawny (some yellowing), and old Fairyland NS from 2017.

I love the sculpting of the elva body, but judging from the pictures I didn't expect her to pose very well and I can attest to that in at least the knees. The knee engineering is baffling. They're peanut joint knees, which usually are used to create a smoother figure when bent than floating knee cap joints, no? But these peanuts have ridges in them to keep her standing up, so when you first bend the knee, it doesn't actually slide in place but the entire joint bends out of the leg. :? You have to manually move it back into place because of that ridge.

Then to bend it again to engage the double joint, there's another ridge for the bottom calf legs (probably to allow for an inbetween angle), so not only do you have to pull the calf leg out from the peanut but you also have to pull it down into place. When the knees are bent, the edges of her legs are so visible and the peanuts don't actually connect to the edges but leave overhanging edges. It's quite unsightly and the handling operation is not smooth for my standards, since I'm used to handling the Switch Labyrinth body which is geat.

But like I said, I bought her with low expectations for her posing and I like the body sculpt. She can give me nothing and I will thank her. Her job is to stand there and look pretty!!

      Thanks for reading!

    3. I think she can get away with just standing and being pretty, the resin colour is gorgeous! Looking forward to how you'll style her, although she's really very expressive blank already :)

    7. That resin is absolutely sublime!!! It's so rich and wonderfully even throughout. I haven't looked much at Dreaming Doll but they're going to make me do a double take now that I know they offer such spectacular tans. Your girl is beautiful even blank (and with fiddly knees hehe)! Can't wait to see what you have planned for her <3
