i've been looking for a willie for ages to make a wife for my aldou, but decided gino would work instead. she will be the first new doll i've ordered in a couple of years, so i'm pretty excited (and so is aldou)

 

Gino should work ok. I'll need a wife for Gino, lol!!! So nice to see you, auntbear!

Oh, if only I had known. I sold my Willie not too long ago, and the new owner has fashioned Willie as a male. I could have sold HER to you along with a bit of a female wardrobe.
I have completely lost interest in my dolls. Even my grail doll, Willie, was not getting any attention whatsoever.

between my health and other things in my life, my dolls have been completely neglected. i'm hoping this year will change. i think i should downsize to the dolls i actually do something with, but i don't even have the energy to list them...

Oh that's unfortunate. It does take quite a bit of effort to do all the work that goes with selling several dolls. I hope things improve for you soon.

 

Just rediscovered Dreamhigh Studios! I had a tiny sylph back in the day. She was so small I kept her in a little glass bottle. I just looked at their site and I'm kind of obsessed with Hana Ichi. She reminds me of a studio ghibli character with that round face!!! And those expressive hands. Does anyone have her?

 

She is cute!

 

I've never met another sylph owner! You might also really like the Chibi Feilene if those are still for sale.

 

Never had Sylph ofchibi Feilene but did want them. I always liked the micro tinys. I have a Sniff and just love him. Poor guy had his elastic snap. Not sure where to find new one his size. Going to use some jewelry one for now. Did find that some of the Liddle Kiddle patterns do work well for them if you make them just a tad slimmer.

 

The clear jewelry elastic available at craft stores is what was in my other micro tinies and ought to work well.

 

Oh this is good to know! I'm super tempted by Pocca, at first I thought he'd just be too small to be functional but going through the thread it seems like he stands and poses quite well, and his little sweet face I looked at a ruler and 5 c/m is sooooo tiny omg. I'd definitely be afraid of snapping the elastic by accident so it's good to know that the jewelry elastic works

 

Yay for knowing that it works. His elastic was so old that it wasn't flexible anymore and just snapped. The plus side was that because it wasn't flexible he didn't come unstrung. Will be doing that this long weekend

 

Omg my tiny friends I've managed to get a Willie second hand on eBay. I was randomly searching and she just came up and I snatched her up right away. I love her weird little face and she should be here either this week or next week and I'm thinking about making her a house out of broken pottery shards :0

 

Willie is so cute! Definitely one of my favourite house elves. Hope she arrives to you safely, can't wait to see the house you build her!

It's great that you posted this because literally TEN MINUTES AGO she got here! I haven't had a chance to take pics yet (I'm at work, from home though hehe) but I did liberate her from the box and I'm OBSESSED?

I haven't owned a DHS bjd in a long time, i think almost a decade, and Donny has really upped his game. The quality is incredible. There is so much delicate detail that adds to the realism. The hand posing, the fingers, the toenails, the little ears. Even with all of this, she's incredibly sturdy. The resin is heavy, and because her faceup is meant to be very realistic and imperfect looking I'm not at all afraid of taking her out with me. The joints pose SO well and so smoothly, it's insane that this little 14cm doll poses better than any other BJD I had in the past (though to be fair this was well over a decade ago) and you can just really see the love and passion Donny puts into his dolls.

I am going to make a wig for her using his youtube video method () to match her little grey eyebrows, and as soon as that's done (and she gets some clothes!) I'll be posting pictures. I impulse bought Hana Ichi AND a Pocca and I kept thinking "why did I do this" but now that I see the incredibly quality of Willie the House Elf, I'm feeling extra confident that I'll immediately fall in love with both.

 

Your Willie sure got there fast, spacemachine! Congrats on Hana too; she sure is lovely from all the photos I've seen this past week on FB! I didn't order her as I'm expecting both Gino and Daisy, but I do have Pocca! And let me tell you, the smaller they are, the more trouble they are, always getting into trouble! And Pocca stands as firmly as the House Elves! Enjoy!!

I'm planning on trying Donny's wig method soon too!!

 

DAISY!!!! I'm so sad I missed her, I'm currently in the process of destashing and selling a bunch of other non-doll stuff because I can tell the second she comes up again I'm going to snatch her up. Pocca seems like a ton of trouble! I'm glad to hear they are sturdy and well-standing too, I am afraid of losing mine so maybe she needs a little harness hahaha!

Doing Donny's method as we speak, put on way too much white glue the first time but it's ok it''ll even out as it dries (upside down). Poor Willie, just got to her new home and already she's being wrapped in cling wrap and hung by her feet u_u

 

Daisy will be released again, as this was only 15 dolls for now. Poor Willie, I'll be trying it on my Avery twins soon, but they'll think it's great fun!!

 

You really didn't miss the Daisy pre-order. Donny made some available to the folks who ordered a Gino to get like an advanced release of a limited number of Daisies. The general pre-order is yet to come.

 

Possibly silly but once I got the glu cap on and hung her upside down to cure, I made sure to cut a little hole under her nose because it felt like I was suffocating her otherwise XD completely unnecessary I think, to most people anyways, but it would have bothered me all day haha. When will your Daisy and Gino arrive? I love Gino's face, sad I missed that preorder! I love how his hands fit inside his head too that seems like such a lovely little detail

 

OH thank you, this is so great to hear! Daisy reminds me of Tinybear's Moona sculpt, that same sweet mysterious smile. (Sorry if this makes two posts I can't remember if this is supposed to merge my posts)

@MB Lilac your costuming and styling for a Willie is definitely one of the reasons I fell in love in the first place!!! I love how tiny she is here but the detail on her clothes makes her seem so real!!! I think I have seen some of your work on your blog too, your house elf outfits are incredible

 

@EI BJD - Thank you. My Willie gets around. and can often be seen in the world with my bigger dolls. Her best friend is Winston the Dragon.
@spacemachine - Thank you. I'm happy to be an enabler! Willie is currently guest starring in an ongoing story in the Fantasy Medieval world with my MSD size characters....

She's also going to be working with my Wizard in another story.

I do currently have four blank DHS characters that still need faceups and costumes. I should probably address those soon.

 

Does anyone have a picture of Pocca beside a petite Blythe? I know they aren't bjd but they have super tiny bodies, and there's tons of sewing patterns for them despite their small size so I'm hoping to see if I can sew for my Pocca once they get here! Same goes for Hana Ichi and Blythe or Licca dolls

 

Expecting two house elves incoming in the near future (Gino and Daisy). Planned on making Daisy some special witch like boots while waiting, but can't find anything on their feet, except that Hana seems to wear the same size shoes.
Does anyone have the foot measurements for house elves or Hana as a reference?

 

I bought my first Dream High Studio doll recently, a Hana Ichi, and now I’m just waiting for her to come home to me. It’s very exciting.

Quite adorable!! I love the photo, and how he’s just having a moment for tea.
I was tempted to buy a house elf, yet I knew that they specialise in fae dolls and I’d be able to buy one in the future. A human doll, however, I felt was a bit rare. Plus Hana Ichi fits my story (a pair of young women, named named Clarke and Star, discovering fae).

 

Have you seen that Hana Ichi now has a brother? They're both very adorable and quite hard to resist, although I currently think Hana Ichi is the better option as she comes with other face plates. The boy version supposedly will in the future.

In the last post I saw, the extra optional face plates may be available by the time he is ready to order.
My daughter and I agree that Ari bears a strong resemblance to my grandson, just needs a pair of glasses.

 

Ari is so dear :0 I wish I could give Hana a brother, maybe if he gets released again! I'd love to have more face plates

 

My Hana Ichi was delivered today! I am going to stop by the delivery address tomorrow and pick her up! I’m so excited!

 

They shared a bunch of preview pics of of several new house elves on their Instagram today, I think 5 new ones that all said more info coming soon, Jambo, Nala, Jolly, Yin, and Yang, and Gino again

 

So exciting to see the new releases, Hana looks like she stepped out of a Studio Ghibli film!

Some of my little dreamhigh friends have.. ahem.. reached a certain age where their elastic has called it quits (a nero fairy and two little rhinos). Can anyone point me to the correct sized elastic or beading elastic that works for these little guys? Many thanks

 

I believe I restrung some of my dolls with cord elastic from a fabric store. Just take an old piece into te store from each doll to compare sizes. Wow ... I wish I still had my baby rhino ... those were the cutest EVER!!!

 

That is one of the reasons why I love her sculpt so much! She’s really lithe too, which is nice.

 

So I don’t know if I’m posting this with any hope, but I think it’s worth a shot.
When I first discovered ball-jointed dolls, I followed two collectors (onnawufei and dollluver) who were friends and created a story together. Their dolls were pretty and they would post photographs, write stories about their dolls, and sometimes share snippets of their literature roleplays. I remember dearly wanting that, and to be honest… I still do. I want doll friends I can create a story with, and be creative and passionate with, in general.
Now that I have my Hana Ichi I have a doll who has a bit of a story. So I’m wondering… would any other dream high studio collectors want to be friends, and make a story together? Or be friends and let my girl into their story?

Fairy, what a cute idea!!! None of my DHS dolls really have a story, I’m not very creative and most are rhinos or fae, but I hope you find a way to connect your Hana with the world. I’d love to watch a story like that unfold

 

Can we talk about all the dolls that were recently released! Such a big line up in one go! I would have loved to have added Yin/Yang to my collection, but in the end I went for Jambo as he is the kind of handsome fellow who will fit in with my current crew. He's also the first house elf to be offered in tan resin I believe? I hope this means we might get more resin colours in the future.

 

@ella_tron - All those elves released the other day were just the first ten of each limited edition. I was also interested in Yin and Yang, but forgot that Indonesia is 12 hours ahead, so by the time I went to the site they were sold out. But the remaining part of the edition will get offered again at a future date.

In the meantime I'm working on all the blank elves I had, and the two most recently arrived.

I got Nolan blank and he was finally painted, and Gino was repainted.

 

These are the best looking elves/ knights ever! I can't decide whose mustache looks better. Both are so awesome and unique in their own way.
Did you make their costumes? They are gorgeous!

I also noticed that Yin&Yang were sold out yesterday. But I checked the site today and they are available now.
