Hi everyone! I just finished my first ever body blushing (and first time using an airbrush... and painting any sort of markings... and sueding... and wiring...) and am so excited! There are mistakes a plenty, sure, but she's done and she's mine! She's my little desk buddy now. I added some extra glossy (water-based) varnish at the joints in the hopes that it stems the chipping a little. She's also very, very, VERY shiny and iridescent, which makes me happy.
Wow she looks great! The colours are lovely, she reminds me of Tangled and Rapunzel. You did such a good job.
Wow! She came out great! I really want to try air brush painting! I can't believe that's your first attempt at air brushing!
Oh my gosh, thank you so much everyone!!! I'm sure if Solstice (that's her name) could think/talk, she'd thank you all too! I've been on a serious pastel/iridescence kick recently (or more, accepting that it's probably my favorite aesthetic), so I'm so happy to hear that others like it too, haha. Air brushing is pretty fun, I have to say! It's definitely a skill to get used to (especially if you're thinning down acrylic paints, as I learned the hard way), but really not as hard as it seems, especially when doing large gradients like I did here. (Though here's a "secret": I messed up the first joint I tried pretty bad, and that one piece was wiped and sponge-paintes at the very end.)
Oh holy moly that’s incredible! A big thing I usually see with first faceups is uneven or graininess but yours is silky smooth! She’s beyond perfect!
She turned out great!! I'm about to get to try airbrushing some of my dolls too. If I can do half as good as that, I'll be thrilled! What size airbrush needle did you use?
