Dolpa LA 2007 Picture Thread!

This was the best I could get of your awesome entry, Anrui :E

 

The lighting on my camera was terrible so some pictures might be too bright or too dark. Here are pics of the one-offs, charity auction and SD16 Jewels display.

 

OK, last photo, I think, for now, or at least until the time I do anything with my own photos... After making much with the scowly eyes at me, I finally put Willington in a different outfit than his one-off design (but oh my is it pretty and will make for good costume options!).



By the way, while changing his clothes, I decided to peek at his body and all that fun stuff that one does upon receiving a new resin resident. I was surprised to find that Will's head cap is magnetic! Forgive me if I was slow on the call for this, but it geeked me out a lot, as I am VERY fond of magnets.

Oh, JennyNemesis, remember the conversation about the eyes? He has been graciously provided only the glue dots, so I should be able to change his eyes whenever the time comes without torture and worry *fistpump*

 

Ok here are my pictures ^^ I did not post any pictures of the One Offs or Contest entries on purpose because i was sure that a lot of people will have those I decided to keep my post about the dolls everybody brought along ^^ Especially the YoSDs. I'm obsessed with Yos right now and the Dolpa didn't help there at all. I swear half of the dolls there were YoSDs xD

Woo-hoo! I had a great time! It was wonderful to see everyone, and the time seemed to just fly by.

Saturday she was wearing a shorter waffle wig & that outfit - Sunday night she was in a red "starry" dress.

I didn't get any pictures of her at the event tho >.< I know a few other people did tho ^_^

the Om nom nomed sei was my little gal! ^___^ (currently unnamed except for the nickname nom nom) Shes a ns sleepy with pink middle (not perky nor droopy) wings. I only saw one other ns sei- and it was open eyed... Since neither of us live far from each other (well, same state) we should get together for tenshi twin photos! ^__^

Most of my photos are the same as everyone else's, but I do have a few of the group shots from Sunday night with Mr. Shigeta and the staff/artists, if anyone who was there wants copies.

 

Lovely photos! I loved seeing the FCS shots and the One-Offs with the Certificates right next to them. Also loved seeing the pretty dessert tray... and Stellan's "outfit" at the end of the day!

*whew* I am latelateLATE getting those pix all uploaded! And by the time I get here... well, the pressure's off, because everybody else has already posted all the Contest & One-Off pictures (and much better quality shots than mine too). I wound up taking surprisingly few pix, not even of my OWN dolls!-- And not getting much visiting (with people) done, either. The Saturday schedule felt rushed, I was late getting there, I missed the meetup, & spent most of Sunday in the makeup class or with my arms full of shopping. So there's about 100 pics missed. ^^

But I have to join in on showing off the gift-Tenshis that were awarded that night... My sleeping fetal-position Rei-tenshi has finally settled in at home, and looks much cuter than he did at the Dolpa. His name is Jimmy.

Yes, before some of you ask, I did name him after Jimmy Foetus. I have to amuse myself somehow.


While the raffle & supper were going on, I let Karsten hold my raffle-ticket. I'm not very good at winning lotteries and raffles, so I didn't really put much faith in Number 216.
But I should've known-- Karsten, who is incredibly rare, and whose auction had come to me out of the blue at just the perfect moment, has always been something of a good-luck charm.



Karsten was tickled to find out that he'd helped win something. He was even more delighted to find that, with his new KIPS sheets from the dolly-doctor, he was able to hold Jimmy up in the air in one hand.

Strangeangels took this picture of Jimmy sleeping in Adrian's hand, which is capable of holding a Mini Cooper.


Dangit, those are the only pictures of Adrian (Yukinojo) & Karsten (Isao v2) I got all weekend. ;; Well, I know what they look like.

I also brought Laika (Tony), to flaunt his foxy new Heisejinyao uniform. He was mortified to find that there was another boy there wearing the same thing. XDD I was enchanted. But! I missed a twin-uniform photo op because I flaked on talking to the other boy's owner.

Here, Laika has settled comfortably in next to Sean (Idrisfynn's Williams) and Darryl (Kiyakotari's Kohya). Mack-daddy Sean!! Blonde sandwich! You lucky bastid!

Julia & Alyssa's gorgeous kids sat next to us at supper. Cecile and... F29? 30? elf-girl.

They look squished because Laika kept falling into them & pushing them into the flower-arrangements. Laika is such a mean drunk sometimes.


Our table was FULL of winners! Julia won a one-off; St.James won a pattern book; Kiyakotari & I won Rei-tenshis; and Idrisfynn & Strangeangels won these two Sei-tenshis.

Idrisfynn's sleeping white boy is Balthazar.
Rima, has the little round-eyed normalskin one got a name yet? Is s/he a shoulder-demon or will it remain an angel? ^^

Whose *adorable* little Pierrot Shiro is this again? He's not April's, he's... umm... he was sitting with Brighnasa & Lady Samhainne at the time, please forgive me I forget who else was there. ;;;

I loved that you bought him the La Salopette BTSSB outfit, *and* he's really working it!!

The radiant Darryl. Kiyakotari also had Darryl's muscular gorgeous sidekick Talon there, but some dippy overexcited photographer here flaked on getting a picture of him at the time.

Oh! Oh! But this is also a wonderful picture of Happy Kiya in the background! That thousand-watt smile.


On Sunday morning I woke prematurely, cursing the Sleep-Gods madly until I got a gander at this incredible toxic bleeding-grenadine L.A. sunrise, from my room at the Hilton. Wow!



By day's cruel rays, however, the view from the LAX Hilton looks exactly this gorgeous.

There is a good reason that no language in the world has ever come up with the simile "as pretty as an airport".

I hope someone else got better pix of my dolls than I did; they were kinda phantoms among us. ^^ But I think this indicates we were all too busy having a good time to stop & take pictures!
