Dolpa 19 discussion

Note on the cell phone straps: the charms may fall off easily. I lost one of mine the day I bought it at NYC Dolpa (luckily the goodie I got on the way out was more charms). However, I noticed that if you flip the back part around so the smooth part faces inside they have more "stick."

 

Oh my I want so much stuff I have to remember to get on the computer early... I forgot last time ;.;

 

firefly: Most hotels now have wireless in the lobby areas. maybe you can try to see if you could connect that way ^_^

 

Does Volks usually have UPS give you an automated phone call when they ship items out? I just received a really weird phone call from UPS with a tracking number that doesn't work yet. I can't think of anything else I would be receiving from UPS, so I'm going to hope it's my SwD Tae. And if it is, expect photo spammage from me tomorrow or Thursday .

 

Here's hoping! I'm about *crazy* with waiting for my Maki to come home!

I just recieved an email from volk saying "items being shipped" and I got my tracking info with it... so that means the dolpha 19 dolls are on the way!!

I can still barely believe I won a Tae

I just got an email too. Guess that phone call was my Tae yesterday, because the package has already been delivered. Too bad I still have 45 minutes left at work and another 45 minute commute home :P.

I'm glad all the dolls are going out! I can't wait to see owner pictures of Maki. I'm so curious to see what he "really" looks like!

 

Tae is on her way!!!!! Just got the tracking and she should arrive Friday. This is so exciting!!!!!!! I've never bought a full-set doll new before. I have a few that I bought 2nd hand -- Plus, I usually got the head from one person, the body from another, and the clothes and wig from another. Getting the whole she-bang at once, first owner will be a new experience. I'm very excited. This is so much like when I was a kid at Christmas. That is a feeling that adults don't often get to experience. Very fun...

 

Oh... my... god! I just checked my email on a whim since people were talking about shipping notices. I ordered my Olivia with satogeri services though so I wasn't expecting her to ship until the end of next month. I can't believe I got a shipping notice for her! OMG!

 

Yep, three months on the dot. I'll get mine next week then. I hope.

 

*bites nails* The Dolpa 19 items aren't up yet on VolksUSA, but it's after 11:00am PST now.... *nervous*

EDIT: Nevermind! They just popped up and I got the outfit I wanted.

 

dang, sold out of 2 items I wanted in under 30seconds

 

Just placed an order and paid. Hopefully that means I got what I wanted. The only item that I couldn't get was the YoSD face covers and that's not very important to me.

 

I know, I put in my order as soon as it opened and I was still too slow for the boy kimono set.

 

*laughs* It was crazy! How did people do it so fast? The grey YoSD smock was briefly unavailable but I was able to grab it again in a separate order. Does anyone know if VolksUSA allow combine orders to cut down on the shipping?

 

when I checked out it said that 2 items weren't available, but it let me go back and add them again an it took the payment so??

we'll have to wait a see what happens...~nervous~

 

I missedo out on the grey smock set that I wanted But I did get the YoSD Basic items set I wanted (the pink)

I missed out on the pink smock, but a friend nabbed the grey smock, which was my second choice. Unfortunately, that meant that she missed out on the pink little undies.

 

If they sent you an email saying "This email is to confirm the receipt of your recent order from VOLKS USA." does that mean you won the items they listed?

I think so. If you got the email that means the order was processed and it's basically just a receipt of your order. So whatever that was listed on the email, you should be getting them ^^.

 

Yes if you get a receipt listing your items it's safe to say you got them.

I was able to get the little boy's Red Riding set and both smock sets.
My Mom got the pink smock & some of the MSD stuff.

 

Managed to nab the pink smock set and the pink MSD dress~ My Nana will have something to wear when she gets here

woo! that means I got all my stuff (even though durning the first order it said unavailable) I stalked the site for over and hour doing test drills of placing my order..the only problem now is...$33 dollar shipping..

I got lucky this time. Really, really lucky.

Silver Wolf Kimono, Copper Kimono, and Black Swan Kimono for what should be some awesome group settings.
Also the Spring Long Coat set. It looks so much like the old fashioned, original Barbie look, mom'll love it. (I will bring her to the bjd side... I just need bigger cookies.)

 

I ordered the little chibi underwear sets, and the system would not let me order them together. It said the 2 piece set was not available. I had to put in seperate orders. I hope they will combine them. I sent them an email about it.

 

Blargh, I just woke up and totally missed out. Oh wells.

 

Honestly, I was wondering where you were. I haven't been keeping track of the thread recently, but I usually see you at the event results. I'd hoped you were okay when you didn't appear earlier.

 

Bah! I wanted the YoSD Girl pink basic set and the YoSD shoes! But when I checked out they were removed from my cart.

Oh well, I got the SD13 Zori and the gray boxers.

 

Did you want anything from the store, Midori? There were surprisingly few people there. About 10 in total. And I got the Boy's Sailor Uniform that I wanted, as well as an impulse buy of the SD16 Flower Mermaid Set. I was tempted to get the SD17 Modern Tuxedo Set and both YoSD Marshmallow Smock Sets, but I put them back for others to buy. I don't need so many doll clothes, since I'm going clothes shopping for myself today.

I was such a wreck this morning when I went to the Volks store, since I had just woken up at about 10:20am to get there. Sorry if I smelled like last night's vodka, everyone. Also, Izayoi, I'll bring my Sweet Dreams Mimi in BTSSB next time I see you and your group at a meetup or at the Volks store. I honestly didn't think there'd be a little doll party at the store again, but it was fun as well!

 

I tried to stay up so I wouldn't oversleep and miss the chibi things. But around 6 am I crashed on the couch after asking the_unaccepted1 for her help in getting the Chibi Grandma set. She had golden fingers!!! I am extremely grateful as I woke up an hour after the event started and most everything was already gone.
Thanks so much Krystle for you expert shopping and golden fingers. I am sorry you couldn't get that white rose SD dress for your ladies.

I wanted both the chibi sets but couldn't get them, but the SD16 dress I wanted I managed to get so I'll be happy. I do wish I had both the chibi sets though. Yahoo Japan time I guess.

 

I got the boy and girl Little Red Riding Hood sets. I'm so glad I didn't shell out $100 for them on Y!J like I was going to.
Kittybongo, you might want to try again...I had to try 3 or 4 times as people's carts fluctuated.

Were there any more boys kimono left in the store? I am thinking about going by Sumika after work, but not if they are sold out already.

@Lovecraft - I hope that I didn't worried you too much. I've been so tired lately. When I woke up today and found out it was like noon, it totally surprised me.

@Daniel - I was thinking about getting the SD16 mermaid dress set and/or the Spring Long Coat set. Other than that, nothing else really.

 

Anavel: I doubt it. I think that there was only one, and it was bought already. To be sure, please call the store and ask directly, since they could have more there.

Midori: When I left the store, there was still one Mermaid Dress set. I think there were two there, and I bought the other one.

Well, after all the wait for these DP19 items to be offered on VolksUSA, I couldn't decide if I really needed the Chibi outfits or not, so I elected to pass this time. I'll probably feel differently once my Yo-Megu arrives, and regret passing them up, but as Byouyuuken posted there's always "prettier stuff coming out in Dolpas to come!" Anyway, congrats to all those that got their goodies ordered today!

Yeah, I feel the same way - I kept looking at all the cute outfits, but when the time to buy came, I couldn't really bring myself to buy Chibi outfits when I don't actually OWN a Yo-SD yet And the MSD clothes were cute, but not 'omg I have to have it!' worthy.

 

Yeah, I thought I *NEEDED* to have one of the YoSD Smock sets, but I couldn't see myself dishing out that much money for it. I got the SD-sized slip dress and panties set; it's super cute! I also got a few non-limited items as well. I couldn't believe how quickly everything sold out; I'm so glad I bought it right when it opened!!

Also, anyone know how quickly VOLKS ships?

 

Thankfully, Volks ships pretty quickly for an After Event sort of situation. It's the lotteries you wait forever for. XD I'll definitely have the Yo smock set I got before my poor little Yo-Megu even gets here...and the Yo boys here prolly won't suffer the indignity of trying it on, dangit!

 

Yeah, I've hit the 3 month wait on my Maki today.

 

I just got an email with tracking info from volks, its says the outfits will arrive on aug 1th...
that is super fast

 

I have an order being shipped as well. Hopefully by the time I wake up, it'll be two confirmations instead of one.

My Maki arrived today and I am so excited now to get working on him. And his gender swapping surgery ^o^

Edit : wow pretty much all I wanted was still there ^_^, except the tenshi no hair brush thing I wanted to check out (it kinda looks like a toothbrush... haha... )

 

I take back what I said about my Olivia shipping early. When the tracking number Volks gave me still didn't work I emailed them about it and they replied basically with "Oh, we haven't sent your doll. Sorry about the confusion, we didn't mean to email you."

I kind of expected when the number wasn't working that had been what happened, but I'm still a little disappointed. Ah well, she'll be home soon enough.

 

Got a shipping notice this morning for my SD13 boxers and my girl red riding hood outfit. We'll see when the boy outfit ships, since they were two separate orders.

 

No worries. We kind of figured you had an excellent night. I was thinking we could all meet up for a Mimi photo shoot sometime...

Volks had very few items in stock. I managed to get the black frilled MSD dress and SD 13 boy zouri. I also was tempted by the Silver Wolf Kimono set and the Night Fantasy Set and the leftover kimono from NY Dolpa-but I already have similar items and had no need for them.

 

I ordered a few things, Dolpa 19 limited and not limited, on Saturday. Still, my "Order Status" and "Tracking" are blank. Should I be worried? Will Volks e-mail me when my stuff ships? I never ordered from them before.

 

Don't worry about it. Last time I ordered from VolksUSA it took them about a week to ship. They do send you another email when your stuff gets shipped out. If you're really worried you can drop them a call or send an email ^^. Their contact info is here:

My Olivia came in yesterday straight from Japan. He's been in the country, at WLD, since last Friday...I'm starting to worry now!

 

Did you check with Debra?? That is where my Olivia came from. I am sure they are busy with both Dolpa's going on at once.

I love her face. It is more feminine than the first. Once again I have to say "Hats off" to Volks, she was worth the wait.
