Ok after i looked more at willams i dont think he is something i really need >.> Boy dolls really arent my thing...

I was planning to go down to cali to order my first 2 dolls using the FCS and now im not so sure anymore. IF i do cancel my trip and I dont win a kurumi I might just die.

Think my chances at a kurumi are 50/50? or worse? Im thinking maybe going to LA and just getting one doll and if I dont win a kurumi, I'll buy something on my wishlist....or maybe keep saving for a cyndy 2 (my dream doll).


If only I had $1,000,000. But then again even that much wouldn't buy me all the things I want these days... +sigh+

 

A little thought: FCS will always be there, for the most part. Kurumi's limited...and she'll only go up in price in the future, if the demand I'm seeing is any indication. I can tell you that my waffling on Yuki is something I'm kicking myself a bit over (but I'm holding out until next Dolpa, as given the situation, it seems VERY likely now an SD16 boy will come up then!).

yeah... kurumi seems to be very popular ^^; and with her price a little over $900... her price will probably be a little more afterwards and such...

this is why I'm trying to gather so much money right now.. I don't want to end up having to fork over like... a grand or something XD

 

Well this is my 1 and only chance to use the FCS for over a year. I might be going to japan next fall and right after (literally "right after", Seattle to Tokyo to Shanghai to Seattle) then i'm being dragged to china. And after that I dont think I will have the funds to travel again for quite a while o.o

The only reason I need to visit CA for the FCS is that I realy want to be able to look at all the options myself. (I cant tell the difference between some heads and some eyes)...

But I love Kurumi. Looks like Umeko will have to wait a bit longer to be made, after all I can always hire someone to go buy her right? ^^

Though I have to say I am very happy there isnt a new SDC girl or SD16 boy, i might have fainted.

Well, it sounds to me like Volks like Kurumi very, very much. :3 I don't think we have to worry about her being like Jun or anything. I think she'll most likely end up being released a few times. ^^

Or maybe that's just me hoping. ;3 Could you imagine a white skinned sweet dream Kurumi? >.>; Or the same, but an SD Mika? XD Ahhhh, dollies that may never happen are so fun to dream about. ^^;;;;;

Do you guys think we will be able to get the outfits on Volks USA or just the dolls?

(and yes, the bay area is cold, though Davis is colder.. I can't feel my fingers and my roommates don't want to pay for heat)

Heh it snowed for the first time in seattle in atleast a year. Normaly it snows here in january very other year if we are lucky XD

Well I have never bought anything around the price of a FCS doll w/o seeing it in person first. I'm the type of person that sits in a computer store for 6 hours after spending weeks doing online research before buying a $2,000 laptop. If the dolls were 300$ it would be a different story.

Also, I have seen pics of the different heads but with all the different faceups I have seen so many look like different heads but people say that some are the same o.o and all-in-all I think the experience of placing the order myself will be one of the most fun things I have ever done in my life.

 

I agree completely This is why Volks insist upon on FCS being a personal experience. It's totally different experience handling and seeing things in person than relying on photos online.

 

VolksUSA did say that the outfits would be available to US buyers after the Dolpa. ^_^ (It was on their blog, the one time I got through. @_@; ).

As for Jun, she's actually almost always one of the One-off models that Volks uses for Dolpa's, Teaparties, and etc, or so I've seen.

I'm rather surprised that she doesn't go for more $$, but I guess it's because there's almost always just one available at any given point. :/

As for buying Kurumi second hand; you'll probably have a good chance of getting her Close To retail immediately after the Dolpa. After that, her price will definately go way, way up; though I imagine that there may be a lot of nude Kurumi's sold on Y!J or even here on DoA. ^^;;;

 

it'd be cool if you can get Kurumi's dress seperately... because if I can't afford the $900 price tag on her.. I can see about spliting with someone and just getting the dress at a later time... though I'd probably end up having to pay a buttload for it... XD

 

I'm sure someone will be willing to sell it. I'm not even sure I want Kurumi's dress.. I like it but I can't see any of my girls (even Kurumi ^^;;; ) as being gothic lolita.

 

Yay! More info. I'm going to enter for Kurumi. I already know I'm going to do a split. I love Kurumi but I dont need another doll I just want the outfit. I hope I can get her.

edit: so by "taking applications" does that mean volks will take every single request submitted within that time frame, and then do a lottery to decide which of the requests are granted o.o;...?

There's still no info on the Volks International site, which is annoying for us in the UK, Europe, Australia, etc. :-/

Oh I love the wig he has and what I can see of the outfit. It seems sort of early Victorian? I can't wait to see him from other angles.

With 5 big girls and no big boys I am wondering if Sweet Williams will be the one to join our girl heavy family???

 

Gah. I'm praying that Amelia is the same as Olivia. Or that I don't like her. I'm very particularly about head molds when it comes to finding the 'perfect' match to my characters. It'll kill me if I like Amelia's headmold more than Olivia's.

 

Anyone got a ballpark guesstimate on how much the outfits are going to be? Especially Olivia's? I'd love to guess but I don't think I'd even get close, I know collaboration outfits go for a lot on the secondary market but I have no idea what they cost originally.

Also, I heard that Iplehouse Silvia's clothes fit Olivia, would it be the same the other way around? Is there a place that lists Olivia's measurements? *goes off to look*

 

Olivia's Outfits where pretty affordable when they went up for sale on the VolksUSA website They were a bargin of a price, $132 a piece. And these where FULLSETS with Shoes, Lingerie, & Jewelry.... I don't know how much the H.Naoto Outfit for Olivia will be though. I want that one

It would be marvelous if the prices were at least close. *prays* Hopefully someone can give me her measurements and perhaps a body comparison pic for the SD16 and Iplehouse girl bodies, I really do wonder if her outfit would fit. I'd like more details than just "It won't."

 

Well, I hate to say this to you, but it really won't I don't know any of the Iplehouse girls so I can't really give you a comparison, but I do however own Iplehouse Iris' Defult outfit and the SD16 body will not go into it, it's just way too small around the chest area... The SD16 Chest is rather large that and the SD16 Torso is much Longer, so the Waist Area would be Lower......So, I really don't think the Iplehouse girls will fit into her outfits without looking like they're swimming in them

Hi Alex, Well I had a few little Bumps with my order, but they said they would be shipping my Order out to me today I think it was supposed to originally be shipped out on Monday though

Huh, someone said that the outfit fit their Olivia perfectly, I wonder if they'd give me a pic of that.

Also, based on measurements at least, the difference isn't really enough to tell if the outfit will fit or not. I think I'm going to try for it anyway, especially is someone can give me a pic of an Iplehouse girl wearing clothes made for Olivia on my picture request thread. If nothing else, a bit of creative tucking and pinning should work wonders, especially in the bust area, which is a whopping 2.8cm bigger than the IH girl's.

 

would anyone have any idea what Kurumi's head with her wig and without her eyes would run? because I don't think I'll have enough for a full set in time D:

It really depends on what type of person is selling her! Really, some people get really hungry for profits the day after a doll is released, some like to help people out. I have seen people up a price + $1,000 the next morning after obtaining a doll, it wasnt pretty!
I'd say just save save save! Predicting the price after release on the secondmarket is really a hard thing to do.
I do hope you get her though! She is a real sweetie!

I am feeling really "doll satisfied" these days, waiting for my sdc arashi and BW f-07... So I am just going nutters over all those clothes and things coming out!!! New carriers, clothing, clothing Lines!!!, animetic eyes... oh lord, someone help me! Is anyone feeling the crazy google-ys over the things besides the dolls? Dont get me wrong, the dolls look marvolous as expected, but I am just looking forward to staying up until I see the things for sale on volksusa!!! Add to cart, add to card... it's all I cant think of! me so trazy! enough of my insanity.

I'm trying to save up money as fast as I can T_T; sept no one is buying my stuff and I don't have a credit card so I can sell my stuff on ebay D: (and that I sold it on ebay wouldn't give me a check untill 30-45 days after the auction is closed... DX) if someone just buys my laptop... I'll feel like like a headless chicken and more calm XD ahhh...

 

I totaly agree jen! I'm thinking of not buying carrying case with my FCS order (if i ever get to cali...) and wait to get one of the new ones! Also, the new wig and the new clothes look AWSOME!

I just hope the clothes and what not arent too limited... Like, I hope they will be around long enough to get more than 1 item into your shopping cart before they are sold out.

 

I am really excited about the clothes too!! but I dont even have a doll yet, so I am using my money to actually get a doll.

Heh, I don't have a doll yet either, Nor do I have any h.NAOTO clothes for myself. We are in te same boat kuroda emi ^^;; If only money grew on trees and if only h.NAOTO shipped over seas...

The way I see it, about buying clothes for a doll before you have it, Its better to be prepared then to have the doll come home with nothing to wear ^^

 

When I got my first doll she had nothing to wear and I was out of money so I spent the whole day frantically sewing ^^;; I agree.. might as well get an outfit in advanced. And once those h.NAOTO outfits are gone.. you'll only be paying higher prices on the second hand market X_X

 

All this talk about the second hand market is making me nervous.

My friend actually told me that if I get Kurumi from VolksUSA, I probably won't have to pay for her until around mid-Jan.

and about the clothes. I think that my cristmas present will have to be one of the outfits, Because if I get this job at some fancy-smancy italian resturant (where it's like $24 for a freaking plate of spaghetti with some chicken)

I will have plenty of monies!! and I think that I will get it because I am Italian, AND!!!! my dad did their upholstery thingies, so he is friends with the owner! (yays! and sorry for the rambling it is a little OT ;-

 

My mom got me a 30 gig Video ipod for Christmas.

The funny thing is that she insists I pay her back $150 for it.




I've got so much stuff to save up for now.

Kurumi, new stuff for Kurumi and my boy Nagi, a new digi cam, christmas gifts, and $600 towards the concert.


I'm hoping I can pull it off.
