The January/February 2005 issue of Haute Doll (Super Dollfie issue) mails Saturday to those who pre-ordered it. We are offering a limited number of Jun and Isao's (our cover dolls) to readers in the U.S. only. Both dolls are very limited in distribution--both here in the U.S. and at Dolls Party 12 on Dec. 5th in Tokyo. We expect our dolls in our office the last week of November to the first week of December. The magazine will be on the newsstands in about 2 weeks--maybe a little sooner. Karenc :cow

Augh!! Jun... or Christmas presents... augh... the agony!!! Have just enough in savings to cover costs... auuuuugh.... no! NO! Yes! No! But I have two lovely dolls already! But I'm getting a raise in January! Auuuuuugh, tormented! WHATEVER SHALL I DO??!?!!? Wonder if this means there'll be Nanjou and Konoe sibs in the future? No, no, I don't need another doll, I don't... I really don't... I need... I need clothes! I need presents for my family and friends! The nice thing about this hobby is if you missed out on one set of nice dolls, wait a couple of months and there'll be something else that you'd really like to have. At least that's what I'm going to have to tell myself for now.

Eeeek!! I MUST have Jun, but I didn't know I could pre-order your magazine without being a subscriber! ;_; I'm assuming there's no possible way that there will be any Juns left if I get it off the newstand? Will it be a first come, first served deal? Or will all entries be put in a lottery? In short, is there any concievable way that I could order through Haute Doll with a newstand issue?

I know, I'm crushed that I didn't hear about preordering the issue... But, of course, if it's lottery that's definitely not gauranteed. Any word on whether D&H will be allowed to take any orders? And, with the past D&H orders, were the dolls held for D&H (gauranteeing you'd get one) or was there a chance that he wouldn't get enough to fulfill his preorders?
There is no guaranteeing that D&H will be allowed to pre-order, or that all pre-orders will be filled, sadly. He's usually able to fill most of them, however, and a couple of times he's had extras.

Um... yes she is? (She is a "Limited Edition Premia Model") She's not one of the standards, and I don't recognize her face from any of the FCS heads. (And besides, even if she were available via FCS, her wig and clothes won't be! And I *love* her outfit. Sadly an LE Jun would cost less than an FCS, anyway >.>;; )
If she tells you all the ordering information online now, who is going to buy the magazine? LOL! You'd have to buy the magazine to know the ordering details, unless some of our friends here who has the magazine in hand shares the ordering information with us
I'm curious...I know the new Isao2 is limited...but is it possible to get them later in the year? I keep seeing Isao (the first release) on ebay...was he limited too? Also, I noted that Aimee managed to locate a beautiful Isao head repaint. Is it possible to find the head seperatly? Or is this a hard find? Ahhh so many questions! Sorry for being a bother. I have finally resigned myself to not being able to make the preorder in time. I owe my friend alot of money and it wouldn't be fair to her to go and buy a doll before I pay her back. I am pretty sure you will have to have a copy of the magazine _in hand_ to order the dolls from haute doll, and it will probably work rather like the limiteds that have been offered through volks books (although it seems to be first come first serve rather than a lottery, though I could be wrong). Basically, I am guessing there is some sort of card or some such included in the magazine, and unless someone is nice enough to give you that card, they can post all the info they want and you won't be getting a doll from it. This is partially guesswork, but at any rate I feel that karen made it pretty clear in her original post about the magazine that only those with a copy of the magazine in hand would ba able to purchase the dolls.

Yes, the first Isao was also limited, but not as severely as this second one. Your best bet for finding one, or even just the head, is Yahoo Japan - there are usually a number of auctions going on for whole dolls and sometimes just heads. But he's not cheap :-(. Marcia.
Um, well, not really -- I can just go to the bookstore when it hits the newstand and find out the answers myself. I'd buy it either way because it's the Dollfie issue; I merely want to know how the sale is being conducted. I'm *not* asking if I can buy the doll without buying the magazine, I'm asking whether it's first come-first served because if that's the case, then obviously I will not have a chance to order it through the magazine (because I will be getting my newstand copy quite a bit after subscribers get theirs).
I know exactly what you mean. I want the copy of the magazine myself, but whether we will get it in time to order the dolls is another matter altogether. And roux, if you need to have something in the mag to order the dolls, I am sure Karen will have addressed that.
From the garbled translation, I think it means that while the others will be sold at like, the after party and stuff, the Isao is so limited that he's only being sold at the actual Dollpa and that's it - once his 100 pieces are done, there won't be any more made for the after party etc. Which makes me wonder if any of the 100 will be allocated to the international website at all, or if HauteDoll is taking the international side of things this time.
Speaking of the afterparty, how does that generally work? Do they make an additional, say, 100 dolls to sell a few weeks later? I've never really understood Volks' LE MO, as they re-release dolls (not really a true LE, then, is it? ^^;;; ) and do all sorts of "second chance" sales and One-offs and preorders. It's all somewhat confusing. I remember during Dollpa 11, though, they offered the dolls on the international website. I when I checked, the boys were sold out but there was still at least one Cyndy. I would've thought she'd sell out faster since I didn't check immediately after they went on sale. I cling to this little hope that A) Jun will be available on the international site and B) she won't sell out in the blink of an eye :cry:

Don't feel bad! The names and faces are very close! After I read your post, I looked at the two pictures side by side, and wasn't sure myself! I do think if you couldn't get Jun, you could get a Kun, and make her up to look very similar!
I don't exactly know what the procedure is with the SD13s,the procedure could be totally different........only time will tell !!!! but..just to give you some idea ...... I believe , going by experience, that if you were one of the people that bought /pre-ordered the magazine before Nov.3rd (as the announcement noted) you then qualified for the Exclusive Haute Dolls SD13s......... Haute Dolls possibly only had a certain number of Isao2s and Juns for those that pre-ordered Haute Doll before Nov.3rd ...... it is possible to still have a chance , but you should probably order the magazine as we speak..........either way you have to have the magazine on hand.... (early bird gets the worm kind of thing) In the past Haute Doll Exclusive Tonner Sydney(Gorgeous Doll and Outfit!!).... if you were one of those individuals that pre-ordered the magazine, you then received a postcard from Haute Doll, notifying you of your Exlusive Doll.....then , you must mail in your postcard with payment...... within a certain time frame, if you do not, by that date given, you forfeit your spot..... and it goes to the next one in line.... However, Isao2 and Jun are both Haute Doll Exclusives...... I highly doubt they would be available for D&H's usual pre-order...... You may catch them on Yahoo!Japan or ebay for twice/thrice their original price..... ~Mia

Meg, it is always possible to see them on Yahoo!Japan ..... the different Artists have produced/created their own versions of Isao's head and would probably continue to do so.......of course the repainted head may go for a minimum $500-and up, plus fees........ ~Mia

There will be a lot less SDs than there were Tonners, though. Not everyone who preordered the magazine could get a postcard under that system. There would be many many more regular subscribers than dolls, let alone people who just ordered the one issue. So, unless the postcards are random, it seems like there would have to be some other system of sending in a postcard without the insurance that you were actually going to get the doll.

Mia, I hope I´m not mistaken, but I think I read somewhere in this thread that those who bought the Haute Doll issue are able to buy the kitty. That little thing is just too cute, I hoped it would be included with Jun...and it reminds me of a plush cat that my grand-aunt had sitting on her sofa. Me wants it so badly!!

If it's by a card ordering system, would Isao2 and Jun have their own card? Or would they be on the same card? I'm wondering if I can find someone who preordered the magazine and doesn't want Isao2 so that I can have them order him for me. I'm dying to have him. Dreaming about him and all. Yeah, Isao is one of the limited ones, but his first release wasnt limited to 100 like this second one! unfortunately MOST of the time volks limited releases go up in value after release but it always depends on the popularity of the particular limited! the head I got was actually somewhat affordable (well... considering what some other ones go for) on YJ. if you can get an affordable body then it makes it a viable thought! Yes, though I got him on YJ. Heads of various limiteds repainted are somewhat common on YJ, the question I guess being how much they go for. (often depends on the possibility of the repaint artist...) Actually I'm surprised that people would separate a valuable limited head from the not so valuable body... doesnt nessesarily seem to be a profitable idea, but I guess sometimes it is? Basically if you can't get Isao 2 now, your only option is to get him later on the aftermarket, which may or may not be difficult. Some limiteds are easier to get later and dont go up that much, so you may be in luck, its hard to say! and then also there's no way to know whether or not volks may rerelease him with another cool outfit later! My favorite limited was Lucas I, I couldnt afford him when he first came out, but I saved my money and eventually another collector sold hers and I was ready and was able to buy him for about his original retail price, so don't give up hope! But obviously the most sure and usually the cheapest way to get a limited is right when it comes out for retail price. and remember that a doll that you may love even more may come out at any of the upcoming dolpas!

Well, do you notice that almost always the heads go naked? It's what I would have done. I don't like Isao's head but I LOVE his outfits and his long-legged body. So I would definitely buy him just to keep his clothes and body and sell off his head. It's not profitable, but I would have gotten what I wanted. Also, I think that buying the doll, separating head and body actually IS really profitable. Bodies typically go for around $500, and we've all seen the prices limited heads go for. Instead of getting a standard $800~ for selling the whole thing, it's possible you could get as much as $1000 or more, depending on how the head goes for.
Hi I have pre-ordered the mag because I wanted it aswell as because of the dolls, now I only want Jun not Isao, but have the problem of being in the UK and needing a USA address... now if its a card system as people think, then can any one help me, apparently the mag is due here soon... maybe an arrangement can be made if you want the Isao..... as I only want Jun..... any ideas.... lol pm me if any one can help....
I just PMd you about it Maz. I had a family friend who I thought could go to Dolpa 12 to get Isaofor me but that idea fell through. So I'm back to hoping I can find someone who preordered the magazine and can help me get Isao that way. It's a long shot but I'm trying!
