Mr. Loong for now, perhaps we can expand it once Yunchi is shipped as well. Please add any hybrids, I'd love to see more combos, and feel free to ask if I have a body you want to see. Here is Mr. Loong in WS on a very mellowed Loonsoul 73 WS body. This body has a modded neck, less about 1 cm originally to work with smaller Soom heads such as Dia. It would have worked on the original neck as well. He looks good on this body IMHO.
Mine came this week and it is the best animal head ever imho I noticed the head looks good on many 70cm+ bodies, must be because (a) fantasy head and (b) the fur sculpting hides the neck join. Great design! Even the S hooked whiskers When I take some proper photos I will added them to this thread
Here he is on the black dragon. I have the small option. I imagine both would look good tbh. I didn't realize there was an option for big until I bought it off clover singing and saw dealers had a big option ;-; heres also 68cm loongsou boy body with the three part torso, dyed black i also have another hybrid, but that bjd is off topic atm.
@kyukyukyu - I agree he is very flexible with this design! the limit will be a too wide neck maybe, since the faceplate won't shut then. can't wait to see pics when you have time! @Vimes - oh yaaaas - he is looking so good on the beast mode! that outfit looks so great on him too. I had no idea they did two sizes of the LS Black Dragon. Your 68 looks good too, what a nice dye job Should I post here the pics I have of the 3 heads together WS, MW, BLK (lighting is crappy though) and the pic of him on the DZ68? or keep it just hybrids?
@Grimalkin oh I meant two sizes for mr loong head. Black dragon is only 73cm. Posting him on the dz body would serve as a control for the "intended" vs what it looks like compared to the hybrids :3 Oh and there's just a lot of pieces to the outfit and I was being lazy not taking it off. It's just the outfit he came with. Later I can post another photo nude. Might be easier to make a judgement if people wanna actually add the head
oooh gotcha. good to know about LS, I'm definitely not as familiar with their line, I've only that one and the fantasy bodies always look so huge with all the beast flair. i do love that outfit with Mr.Loong though, it suits him very well. I didn't see the choice of the size of the dragon head to select a checkbox when buying them, maybe we had to ask her for it. but I see now the two measurements on the blank head dimensions in the snap I took of it - I just flew right by all that and fiercely punched the buy button apparently for the "control" pics, here are three Mr. Loong in WS, MW (moon white), and black resin (top to bottom), and the 2nd is him on the DZ B68-001. apologies for my atrocious lighting. I'm trying to think of what else I have that might look good. I wanted this slimmer build, but keeping the shoulders wide enough to support his magnificence is going to be a challenge.
I do kinda feel like 68 cm is the limit. It starts to look a little large. I can just tell by looking, my resinsoul 60 is gonna be too small. I do hope people with female bodies start posting though. I have been a fan of the aesthetic of the feminine body with a big monster head. In hindsight, makes me wish they had a small/large kind of like the taru and obi they had with the buns. A head better suited to thinner bodies and one suited to muscular bodies.
hmm, the top end sizes of the few ladies in what otherwise is a roosterfest around here are: Impldoll Star (SGB?) ~13cm shoulder Dollstown 18yr F at 13.5cm Dollshe's 26F at 14cm shoulders. I can try them if you want, but I'm guessing it will be bobbleheaded on the 2 smaller ones. I'm considering another fantasy body that's got 16cm shoulders, but I have to string him, and he's 4 legged LOL pray for me
I ordered the smaller version of the head from Alice, so my proportions and measurements might be different from yours! But I put mine on my TD50 body for shits and giggles and...it actually looks okay irl? Would definitely need a donut and I'd prefer a longer neck, but the *smaller* version would look okay on smaller SDs like Feeple60s or Resinsoul.
If any one is interested my yun chi came in, the collaboration dragon head. So first off, this head is SO BIG. in the promo photos I feel the outfit is adding a lot of bulk to the 75cm body because he was an absolute bobble head. Now I don't have the Dollzone 75 body which does seem on the bulkier side. Now he seemed more appropriately sized with my 2d 80 cm body
thank you @lynxie for the pics on the TD50! I don't know how I missed it earlier @Vimes - holy smokes you got him so fast!!! I know I dithered around though so mine will be later. He does look good on the 2D 80, I guess they took the criticism from Mr. Loong's release seriously i love that foxy face though edit - should I change the thread title to include YunChi? will it break the current "watch" notices?
@Vimes I can't seem to see your picture and the quote trick isn't working ;O; could I trouble you to ask for a direct link to the photo? Also took a picture of the smaller head on the Ringdoll teen body. He looks great on photo, but personally I think irl the head is too small. (But I also prefer slightly larger heads as evinced by my fantasy MSD collection.) I'll see how Yunchi looks on him whenever he comes in!
@lynxie Yunchi (direct link to yunchi on 2d 80cm) I might be wrong, but doesn't loong mean dragon? Hahaha. I thought the two go hand in hand since they're both celebrating year of the dragon, one is in house and one is a collab Edit - forgot to add I put him on my aolingshi 75cm body which I think is thinner then Dollzone but I can't really discuss it since they're off topic atm so I can't post any pictures of how that looks.
The head will fit the 75cm dollzone body (having trouble find the measurements directly on the head) which has a 12.8cm neck. From what I can tell, the soom centaur is using the little gem for the upper body? (This is looking at their site, I could be misreading since I physically do not own these dolls.) The little gem is measuring 7 and 7.2 for the male dolls depending on the year and the female dolls are even smaller. That's almost half the neck size. You string it tight enough it'll stay on, but I think the size difference might be a bit too stark I look particularly good. I could be looking at the wrong doll, though! Soom measurements Measurements - The Gem Dollzone 【Pre-sale】DollZone Mr.Loong 1/3 Doll Full Set Presale SD Doll 75cm Spherical joint Dolls Just putting those there if you wanna double check my work. And I'm not saying they need to match up exactly, I have the head on an 11cm neck I think and it looks fine. But half the intended neck girth might be too much.
Are you thinking of Zinc with the 51cm Idealian upper body? I believe the shoulders are 11cm wide, and I do have a slim shouldered short sd with the same shoulder width (has a 9cm neck). So if you are interested in seeing this combo, let me know. I do have the larger Mr Loong head though, and for me this larger version is too large for this smaller body's proportions.
I put the (larger version) head on the DFH 72cm body (neck 11cm, shoulders 15cm), this isn't the intended body but the nearest to hand for a quick photoshoot before the snow melted. Spoiler: More here
That doesn’t look to bad there, I was thinking of soom Heliot centaur but don’t remember his measurements
I don't remember that being released, but I did have a long hobby hiatus... that sounds amazing Sounds like it would be a super gem body though. I can take photos of this head on the old and slightly newer supergem bodies if you like? Won't be immediate as my phone memory is maxxed out Edit.... might have been Epidos, not Heliot? [MD/Sep] Epidos - Flame Sword (Centauroid Gem) - The Gem
@kyukyukyu - I love your faceup colours, he looks like translucent jade - he's gorgeous! @Lysian - I think the Heliot sized full centaur would have been the 65cm class, from the Super Gem line. I could only find Epidos on the current site, but I know when they updated the site a lot of old sculpts disappeared. link to Epidos. Is this similar? @Vimes - I finally got my Yunchi (the 1st one in MW) and I agree the head is much larger scale than my Mr. Loong, but I am now wondering if my Mr. Loong's are actually the larger version either. I need to measure them all together! I don't remember specifying which size on purchase, so I got dealer's choice I suppose. my Yunchi is definitely 75-80 class. I was stoked he came with 2 different sizes of the tiny eyeglasses, I thought they were only given with the full set! I had bought some other tiny glasses too so we'll see what looks good I have available Soom ID75, DollZone 75, Ringdoll (RGM5) 75, EID Iplehouse, SOSD G3 (G4 incoming), IOS 80, 2D 75/80 (Ciel's), and a Yi Cen 80 class if anyone has a request for which to try first with Yunchi. hopefully I can take some pics soon, I have another hiatus right now, I can't get to much of my doll stuff for a bit.
Yea probably, my current place doesn’t have a lot of room for doll to be out at the moment so most been kept in container ,three of my soom boys still in boxes
Sounds like you have a good reason now to locate and crack open that box would love to see photos of a Soom SG centaur, there aren't many about Just looked up this thread and realised you have the smaller head so my photos won't be of much help. But your smaller head on that 50cm body looks fantastic in proportions.
Thank you, I love the moon white so much, a delicate light greeny grey. Beautiful resin. Quick question when I looked further up this thread I noticed that the middle head in your photo was noted as moon white, but is it moon grey? Looks really different from mine. And to see different colour variations in one picture is fascinating
the head in the middle is actually Moon White, but my lighting is awful in that room (and my whole place) so the grey looks far darker in the photo than it does in my hand. I need to get one of the white/grey balance cards and toss it in the pics since my lighting is garbage. I really love this light grey too, it can look more silvery and bluer too next to those tones.
Values and how they change in situational relationships is pretty amazing isn't it? My house is gloomy too, hence my photos in natural light, ie outside Edit ...This was taken from the box opening, no filters, direct sunlight.
nice! that is a great picture showing how subtle it can look! this shade is definitely a shifter depending on light and surroundings. when I first opened mine, I thought it was the "white", until I opened that shade next. DZ/DC had some paper white resin for a bit, but most of the standard white is truly a cream tone, so once they were next to each other you can really tell. i don't get a lot of natural sun either, I'm in the fog i have super blue light in other places due to actinic tank lights and the camera always exaggerates that as well. I've tried about 4 different photography lights and all seem to process warm. but I'm not shooting in RAW either. the 3 head shot is iPhone 12 max camera no filters and standard lens (not portrait) with what is touted as a "full spectrum" light on the bluest setting aimed at them. still looks warm to me . I'm working on a new set up, maybe i can get some neutral light finally.
hi, has anyone tried the loongsoul B73 three part torso arms and legs from one of the dragons like the older kilin I think he was called or the newer white dragon on to the newer type B73-03 two part torso ? their measurements are not too far off. I really hate the loongsoul 73 three part torso..nothing sexy or appealing about it. so if I can put the dragon legs and arms on the newer b73-03 body I think the dragon parts would just look a lot nicer in light clothes and I would love to know if anyone has tried it. or maybe another type body of similar measurements the black dragon with wings and a tail used the 2 part torso so maybe it could work
That's making me wanna grab the 2 part 73 loongsoul next time they have a sale. The legs are so heavy, it seems that would provide some stability. I'll post if I can manage that
@Vimes I can vouch for the Loongsoul 73 2-part torso being very stable. Mine has had a mini whack him in the shins and not move him, and he can hold a tiny (Volks Yo-SD so big heavy head) unassisted in his arms for hours with no sueding or wiring
yes the B73-03 two part body from loongsoul is prettier and just as strong as the 3 part LS 73 boy body. I have had several of them and still do in my tamano onmyoji boy but he is a limited ed. so im not taking him apart. just looking for someone that may have already swapped the dragon legs and arms from the 3 part torso to the 2 part torso... I mean my black dragon with wings and a tail I used to have came on the 2 part torso but having both types of loongsoul dragons I know the older 3 part body is a little taller and wider...soooo I am looking oh and the dragon feet do balance the big dragons very well but the can not be floppy
I put the new ying long on layaway for a year. (Seems these kinda of dolls take a year to make any way) So in 12 months hopefully I'll be back to see how this head fits on what is basically a mermaid body? I only counted two legs and I think you need 4 to be a centaur, haha
