Hurray a new thread~ On the subject of all the bodies, can I just say that I really adore the hands and feet on the new body? I have a picture of the feet (though I don't have access to it at the moment so I could post it later) and I just love all the detail in them (and the hands). They're so nice. But for now just have some leg and hands haha.

 

Can't remember who wanted the body comparison shot - I can do double jointed and new new one but the new one will be armless & headless as it's my Moment ... let me know if it's of any use to you and I'll get him out and take a pic

I completely agree with silvermasques - more hand spam! I wish my boys weren't so old; I'd love them to have the new hands.

It's sadly not pretty new hand spam but some Gabriel spam for the new thread

 

I was just saying I've been around for awhile now Silver, I'm aware you've been around longer then me.

 

I'd love to see a boy body comparison, too. Not that I'll be able to buy a new Dollzone for quite a while, but I'd still like to see for future planning! I have the old single jointed and the double jointed, but not the newest body... and based on what I've seen so far I prefer the old single jointed one! The double jointed one poses nice, but the joints are so boxy and the peanuts in the elbows want to turn backward all the time; and I'm just not sold on the new one's hips for the character I have in mind. The new hands do look nice, though! I really like Riddick's hands, he's got nice graceful ones. Fitch... not so much. He's kind of got "jazz hands" going on.

 

I am still trying so desperately to find comparison pics of these bodies. Even the double jointed with the new one would work since I know how the double jointed body compares to the single joint. X-x I just want to be 100% sure on height when I go to order my Ro & Zo. Fortunately Carter is just a body sharer with my Ro so it's not a big deal for him but it's still driving me insane because as soon as I figure out the bodies I can order @~@

 

I really wish I could help, Alogue! The only thing I have to compare my DZ doll with, height wise, are Minifees :C and so I feel sorry that I can't help since they're so much smaller anyway. All I know is that it says the other bodies are 45cm and that the new bodies are 46cm :c

Also on the topic of hands/feet, ask and you shall receive! I'm more than happy to take any photos of this body if anyone needs it! I don't have much to compare it to but I can at least take reference photos if anyone needs them. (these are all shots from some older photoshoots, I really have a thing for taking pictures of the doll bodies more than just their faces~)

 

Beeprince: OH GOSH MINIFEE WOULD BE PERFECT! Yes yes yes pleaseeee a picture like that would help me immensely 83. I have minifees so that will help me out greatly!

 

A million apologies that she doesn't have her head on ; ~ ; Medium Bust/Cutie Legs. I'd take one with the head but she's currently out for a faceup. I hope this helps regardless! If not I can take more specific photos.

 

Hrmmm so I'm thinking based on your photo the new body is roughly the same size as the original single jointed body.



I apologize for the lousy shot...(and Bynx's wig attempting to make a run for it off his head ._.) They're both barefoot on my desk. The Chloe is on the cutie legs and Bynx is on the original single joint body.

Also if it helps Bynx's skin tone is 4 year old normal pink skin xD!

 

It certainly looks like it, as both the minifees' shoulders seem to come to about chest/nip high on the DZ bodies haha I'm glad it could help at least, if you would still like a more accurate picture next to a Minifee with a head on by the time I get my Eliya back, I'll be happy to provide. (Should be in the next week or so).

 

Two comparisons pictures I asked Think Pink to make for me last year. (I have permission to show these pictures)

 

Another two - the first one is the new boy body without the thighjoints next to an AOD body, in the second picture you can see Jake in a group of msd's and tinies. You can see the hight difference with Renate very nicely (on the new girl body without the thighjoints). He is the tallest boy in this group - and the new boy body with the thigh joints is even a bit taller.

 

Are we comparing Minifees with Dollzones now? I have some too! I took this right after Durian came home. I did really like the hands on that body too. I would have swapped them out when I switched my sister for her Jake's body, but that wouldn't have been very fair. I ought to buy him and Plum another pair each. But taa daa! My Cricket was kind enough to pose with the new boy.

 

Cyador, do you mind saying what the boy body is on the right in the boy's picture? Is that a DZ body?

No, he is a dollfamily H boy. (Air I believe)

 

Am I the only one who's disappointed that they released the new bodies with thigh joints like... RIGHT after we all purchased the new bodies without them lol I seriously wish I had waited just a bit longer for it to come out.

 

I'll have the comparison pic up in a few hours - just waiting for the house to clear out so the resins are safe to come out of hiding lol

I really like the new body ... it has lovely lines and fantastic balance, but I suppose not so great if you're looking for a mature type body ... anyway I hope these pics help someone out

 

FrozenRose: Does your boy have the double jointed thigh piece? Or is it all one piece? I know the jointed thigh part for the new body makes the doll significantly taller. o3o

Also, for those of you with the newer bodies, how is clothes shopping? Do they fit into the same stuff as the older bodies? The hips/booty look a lot bigger then the old ones, and lord knows those original DZ boys already have a donk...

 

Their donk is the hardest part to dress rofl I've bought several regular MSD sized outfits for my Hal and had no trouble with the fit of shirts/socks/etc. but shorts have been a bit more difficult to at least get up over his butt and hips. They fit but it's a bit of a struggle. Dollheart MSD outfits definitely fit though, as my main outfit for him is from there. I'd advise to stay away from too many slim MSD things as they might not fit the hips well at all.

 

I have to admit that my favorite part about the new boy body is that bum that everyone has problems with. I may need to get one for Gabriel at the very least, since he really deserves a body that matches him instead of being on the extra body (though considering how difficult it was to get his jeans on his current body it would be....interesting to try and get his default outfit on the new body).

Also your coverups for your pictures made me smile, FrozenRose. Especially the little loincloth for your Moment body.

 

suddenly though "oh crap, moment's naked" so grabbed whatever I could find (the clan doesn't have many clothes), Hal kept his shorts on but took his shirt off for you guys

They brought out the thigh joints after the moment's were made so he doesn't have them, but I think the lines of the body are the same ... I heard the new ones are 46cm while the old ones are 45cm so I don't think the height would be too bad overall ... also in that pic Hal's still got his shoes and wig on - I think moment's a tad taller (that's why I put Erol's head on him instead of his own - thought those big petals would throw the whole comparison off )

I like the tushie too - I don't think it's that much bigger ... but then I've not tried dressing Moment so I guess looks could be decieving in that department

I'm hoping to get a new body for Ralphy and Erol will inherit his current one ... the look of the new one is so perfect for Ralphy but they bought it out after I had ordered him (always the way )

 

I know their waists are probably a bit small, but it makes me wonder if the JID boy pants would fit over their big ol' booties :P I do have a pair of JID boy pants that I can try on them once I get them home (probably wont be until like, two months from now?)

I'm starting to get antsy to order my boys but I'm trying to hold off placing the order with MoC till the 29th since they're placing the order on the 30th. I want the wait to be as painless as possible xD!

 

I've been thinking about getting a new MSD, Demi probably, from Dollzone. Is there a choice to get the older sculpts with the new stylized body or would she come with their old body?

 

You can get them with the new body, all you have to do is ask them. If you go through a dealer (like MoC) you can just buy the head and bodies separately. Some people mentioned before that they the older heads might be too small for the newer bodies but my Hal fits and looks just fine on the newer one.

(Demi's neck and the new body's neck are both 6.6cm, also)

 

Question, did they change their tan from the previous tan? I ordered my Raphael a new body... But thinking I might be in a little trouble now with color matching...

 

So I'm fairly certain I want to get my Ro on the old double jointed body and my Zo on the new body (without the thigh joints if that's an option) Give my house a little variety and that way I'd be able to take some comparison pictures of all three types of bodies together

 

Well, soon I get to be poor again, everyone.
I think I'm gonna order a Carter soon.
I have my first Artist Alley at an anime con coming up, so I'm hoping to make enough money for him, aaaand to start saving for my larger doll purchases... But I'm kinda head over heals for Carter, and DZ's outfit event seems like a good time to buy...

So the more I look at the bodies the more I think maybe I'll get my Zo on a girl body and mod down the chest for my boy. The proportions are a bit slimmer on the girls as well so I imagine he'd be able to wear a fair amount of the clothes I have for my slim minis that way (at least as far as tops go)

I know I still want to get my Ro on the boy body though, I just need to decide which one because I do find the new bodies aesthetically pleasing they seem almost too feminine for my stocky wrath boy :<

Opinions on how clothes fit the newer girl bodies?

No problem! I got my Hal from MoC and bought the head and body separately so I don't see why it'd be a problem for you~ I hope you can get her, Demi's such a nice sculpt &#9829;&#9829;

 

Guh, looking at more pictures of the newer body I really like the sculpting of the newer body, but that physique totally doesn't fit the character I'm imagining. I think I'm sort of fine with the booty being unusual since at least pants aren't that hard to sew. I probably fall apart more over an unusual torso than a big butt (kind of like how I don't get how to sew for girls. ROOM FOR BOOBS? WHAT IS THIS).

Or maybe I should just talk myself into a different character. xD I've been mulling over using Ro or Zo as Tahno from Legend of Korra at least part of the time (I don't think any of my dolls stick to their character 100% of the time because sometimes I wake up in the morning wanting them to do something random that might look cool).

 

I think the issue with a lot of mini boys is that you're never going to get that quite right mature boy...there are a few rare cases, but a lot of the bodies and faces are kind of chubby, and "baby-ish" -sigh-

I think what I'm going to do is get my one boy on the new boy body, and get my other boy on the new girl body and then sand the boobs off for height purposes. I really like the way the new bodies are sculpted in the neck and colar bone area more then the older bodies. I'd like to have that prominence on my boys I think.
I'm getting super excited though, I get to finally place the order this Friday for my boys! 8D Hopefully the wait won't be too long. I haven't checked in on the waiting thread in a while, is the wait time still around 2 months? Or are they still behind?

 

I haven't checked the waiting thread lately either but I think they're more caught up. I had waited about six months for my boy back when they were super behind, but right around the time he finally shipped they were catching up really quickly.

 

I think it's about 3 months right now. At least that's where it was at a few weeks ago when I left.

 

Eh, three months isn't too bad a wait. It's worth it for their dolls.

Are there certain companies anyone has tried out clothes for yet (for the newer bodies)? Like Nine9 or Tata's? Trying to think ahead just so I'm prepared by teh time they get here.

@_@ I want mature boys, but I don't have room for a bunch of 60cm dolls and the some of the more mature mini boys are more realistically proportioned facially so then they look kind of weird next to Saif...

 

Oooookay, Dollzone is officially "strange" XD. I just received my second Hal head, and to my surprise, it came with the glass eyes of the Scarecrow full set! Now, it so happens that I have a Scarecrow Hal full set with face-up and all - who came with (overlarge) acrylic eyes. I always thought I'd got those acrylics because strictly speaking, my full set wasn't a full set. The dealer had a Hal with face-up in stock, and when I ordered a full set, she kept the in-stock doll for me and ordered his outfit and shoes. Then she sent me everything in one go.

BUT where is the logic in getting a) a doll with default face-up but without default eyes, b) a blank head with full-set default eyes, and c) a head with default face-up *and* default eyes? (because I also got an Aurora head with face-up - and it came with the full-set glass eyes...) LOL Dollzone, I love you, but I never know what to expect XD.

Also, going back to the WS skintone discussion a while back: I was in for a surprise today. My blank Hal head is the whitest WS I've ever received from Dollzone - and I have three WS dolls, one that I pre-ordered and two that were in stock...

 

The eyes they send are random, so if you happened to get the eye that are pictured in the company photo's that's just a random chance.

 

I'll be lurking here a while as I wait for my WS Lola. I just ordered her through DDE so it will be a while!! I ordered her on the new body and am looking forward to making her some clothes when she get here.

I ended up ordering my Zo on the girl body, I intend the sand the chest down to be flat so I can make him a "he" lol. Hopefully it ends up being the height difference I want for all three of my boys

Without~ I have a very clear idea for him in mind and the faceup while appealing, just isn't what I want for him. And while getting a free outfit was also tempting, just wasn't worth the extra bucks to me.

I'M SO EXCITED, I was geared up to post all over Tumblr about it to share my feelings but then it was down so this will have to do haha

 

Yeah, I used to like DZ's faceups a lot more before they started painting the lips with water color 8| But, I also plan on painting my Zo myself, he's supposed to be a bubbly red head with a lot of freckles sooooo I would much rather do that myself lol.

I'm trying not to get too excited, after all we still have to wait -sighhhh- xD

Oh man I hear you on the saving and the waiting! Fortunately I sold dolls to kind of "help" me pay for my new boys, but I also had other things I wanted to get recently (like an external hard drive @~@ so pricey)

You need to stop buying pretty clothes to afford more resin! xD! Though I understand, I keep wandering around on etsy when I get bored and finding all these super adorable clothing shops I didn't know about before...and it doesn't help now I have a bigger girl at home who doesn't have ANYTHING, so that's definitely 'cause a road block... I'm hoping now that I know I have the boys on the way I'll be more inclined to start shopping around for them a bit more. It'll be easier, I'm hoping, for me to find a nice looking red themed suit for my Ro, then it was trying to find one for my Souldoll boy. He was such an awkward size it'll be nice to shop for a regularly sized MSD again ._.;

Now to figure out how I want to paint the Carter head...that's going to be the hard part since in my mind whenever I do see Jericho, he is a cat....woops.

 

I'm really curious to see what everyone else is going to do with their Carters, especially if anyone is going to be opening the eye or removing the teeth. I personally plan on keeping them the way they are but I know back in the other thread there was a lot of talk about doing either/both.

I was considering starting a sort of 'meme' on Tumblr sometime about what your characters (or ideas) to dolls look like (to see how close some of them look or the different aspects since it's not always easy to get your vision to life if you can't do everything from scratch yourself).

But I figure I could always bring it up here specifically about any DZ boys/girls people have or are purchasing.

I adore Carter's mouth and closed eye so I'm not planning on modding him any, but I am hoping to give him some colour (his character is Albino), and I'd love to be able to play around with him being all white and adding in other colour with faceup and accessories.

 

Ah man, clothes, I know Jay is wishing he had some XD. Though he's probably wishing for a wig more, he had least has a pair of shorts and one shirt.

 

Did you all see the Christmas event DZ is holding? It's active right now but I don't know that MoC has updated yet--those of you who've ordered and spent $250+ can get free things, so maybe make sure to contact them about it.

 

alogue I unfortunately get all antsy when my dolls don't have "enough" clothes (sadly my definition of enough is along the lines of "three boxes of clothing for each doll and even then I get all hysteric every few months over my lack of outfits" xD
Hence my inability to spend money on new dolls ;p
(it's also of no help that I have a huge list of shops which sell pretty doll clothes DX)

Regarding the Christmas Event... I wonder if the free Outfit if you spend over X amount also applies if you reach the needed amount by only buying clothes. There are a lot of DZ ones I'd love to have xD
