Well Kurogane will be three years old this month...he's I would guess the NS-Y. It was back before they gave you a choice...at least they never offered me one.

There is a difference in the resin, the dikadoll hands are actually a deeper shade, but its not enough that it bothers me.

 

Nah they have -always- had a choice... You just have to be proactive in asking and it depends on where you buy from or they'll just assume one or the other.

 

Vulgar was made in 2007, and I'm SO glad I picked him up. His old skin tone is perfect for the character compared to DZ's new yellow skin that Emi has.
Speaking of Emi, I seriously can't stop taking pictures of him. And he got a new sweater today and wanted to show it off! X3

So Vulgar is a 2007 NS-Y or NS-P? I have a couple dolls from 2006 and 2007 who are white and NS-P and I think the colors were nicer then also

I reealllyy want to go take pictures of Reino, but it's just too freaking hot and no matter what time of day I go out and even in shade my dolls are getting whited out.

 

silver: Vulgar is a NS-Y! I wish they didn't change it! Emi is pretty, but he just seems so dark compared to the old yellow.

yeah i agree!!! D: the newer NS-Y tones from late 2008-now is a good bit darker and i wanna say... more.. ' buttery' if 'a good description.. XD I've got a 2009 NS-Y here *stares at Issac* it took a lot of tries to get a faceup on him that makes him appear pale and worn.... damn darker tone!

and LOL no Equine, PKF thread is 2, MNF thread is 2 and LTF Depends on the Moderator watching the Thread on what is ok. it's only One here on the DZ thread because there are is of spam that doesn't add to the discussion so often :P

 

really Silver? I swear when they first announced the one picture per post rule it was for ALL discussion threads. Besides doesn't the same mod oversee all the mini discussion threads?

Speaking of the old NS-Y, I remembered the upstairs sun seat has great indoor lighting so I did get some pictures of Reino. You can also see his new shoes and one of his other tops. Please excuse the boring background, it has great lighting but is completely white lol.

 

Yeah, I agree. XD Emiru does indeed look quite buttery. :P

I'm super excited because I'm planning out an Espeon inspired character and I've picked Reiko as the mold!

 

Every time we discuss the NS-Y "buttery" color, I get a craving for either crackers or toast... no lie. oAo Although this time I had popcorn.

I want a Shoyooooooo... but I told myself no more dollies for a year 'cause I already bought two (and a half) this year. >A<

 

DFS: pffft, and he's my last one for this year. I don't have the finances to bring another one home. Unless I win the Jungian Shadow contest.

 

I could buy a head and get Haruhi to body-share... I'm not sure how Haruhi would feel about that, though. I think she might feel generous or she might feel like the whole idea of body-sharing is too weird to think about.

DollZone is so affordable that getting another head really doesn't seem like a big deal compared to a lot of other dolls... but I dunno... I'm not playing with my dolls much lately and I'm not sure if that'll change if I bring another head home...

 

My poor floating head is the most neglected out of all my dolls. I haven't touched her in like a month. Also Doll-zone's not as cheap as it used to be.

hmm, any one wants Pics of Machika? She could use with some lovin'

 

I never said anything about "cheap," I said "affordable," but I guess all terms are relative.

 

*facepalm* I apparently can't read today. And compared to like Bobobie and Island Doll, DZ really isn't all that affordable anymore, it's still better then like Fairy Land but defiantly not the most affordable any more.

 

equine: Those are some mean shoes on Reino! And one can never have enough of Machika ... those eyes are to kill for

 

I never said they were the cheapest. They're obviously not the most expensive, but yeah, I think they're pretty darn affordable for the quality. And of course my view of "affordable" is just based on my personal circumstances.

 

I'd love some Machika spam, Equine!! And Reino is sooo cute!! >.<

So, I finally finished Avery's faceup! It's the first faceup I've ever done, but I had a lot of fun doing it. It was hard, though! I really like the way it came out, but next time I am REALLY toning down the colours. And making her eyelashes less red. :/

@emmsie: Oh! Very cute! Faceups are a lot of fun, 'cause you learn a LOT about what works and what doesn't on your first try. And every time after that, you learn more until you're happy! Haha, and some people, like me, are just never completely happy with their own work.

DFS: haha it's cool. Right now nothing's affordable to me. Hoping this changes soon.

She's a little freaked by the size of this feather. She's kind of scared the bird it came from is nearby. Oh and she's learned the benefits of having a male roughly her size around, she gets to steal more boyish clothing. *points to the pants* Those are Reino's.

 

Lol maybe yours just doesn't have a need for elastic? Idk every Jo-anns i've been in from my area to Ohio has a By-the-yard Elastic section. Everything from itty bitty baby cord to MSD weight cord, itty bitty ribbon to belt-wide ribbon of elastic

Could just be looking in the wrong place too though. I was looking for well over an hour in mine before I spotted it on my way out >>

 

I saw some ribbon-style on spools by the yard in the middle of an aisle with the packaged elastic, but no round cord. I'll have to take another look next time I'm there.

 

Thats where you gotta look Solitary if it's not out sometimes just ask They may have it in the back, if not on display.
