Hybrids Dollzone Merlin Hybrid with DF-A 1/3 Boy Body Ver.5 (62cm)

    1. Hi! So I managed to buy a Dollzone Merlin head from someone and he‘s currently on the way to me. ^^ (Yay!)
      I was thinking of making him a hybrid because I‘m not sure if I want to buy a body directly from Dollzone. I read some unfortunate reviews about them but I don’t know how often that stuff happens, so maybe I’m in the wrong here.

      I found this body:
      Doll Parts, Doll Family - BJD, BJD Doll, Ball Jointed Dolls - Alice's Collections
      It’s the best alternative I was able to find and I know that the company does resin matching.

      The problem I‘m having is the size of the neck. The original body Merlin came with has a 9,3cm neck and this body has a 9,5cm neck. I just don’t know how big Merlins neck hole is because I don’t have him with me yet. Does anyone have one and could maybe measure it? :)
      I‘ve never hybrided a doll myself before so I‘m a newbie in this territory xD

    2. In the 1/3 scale range a different of 2mm won't cause any trouble. I have 2 DZ Snow heads at home, which are the same scale as Merlin and also go on the same body, that I could measure if you like?

    6. Yep I know! Alice is my go to dealer. :3nodding:I‘m just not sure if I want to buy a new body from them. I should’ve worded that differently though.
      I just read some things about Dollzone’s quality control/wait times and now I‘m very unsure *_* Their dolls are beautiful but I‘m a bit hesitant now…

    7. I have never heard about quality problems with dz O_o (it doesn’t mean that there are none)
      In my collection I have 4 small dolls, head and body and only problem that body have another tint of white than usual

Oh that’s definitely good to hear :0 I coincidentally found a post on the Facebook group „BJD Addicts“ where someone was talking about their experience, where they received a badly damaged doll from Dollzone and a few other people responded with their bad experiences too (wrong doll, wrong resin color, wrong parts, broken parts, etc.) *_*Dollzone did fix the problem and sent them a new doll though.
      I‘m not sure if this is a regular thing that happens with them? I‘ve heard of people never having problems and then these stories. I‘m very unsure about ordering :nowords: Maybe I will take the risk because their dolls are very pretty and after all…mistakes can always happen I will have to think about it!

    9. Okay, sorry for the delay, but I measured both the neck on the DZ body and the neck opening on the head!

      The head neck opening is oval, but the neck on the body is round. They are both between 9.3-9.5cm circumference. So the DFA body should be just fine.

      Also DFA is a fast company, both my last body orders took roughly 2 months!
