DollZone Discussion ~ 60cm and 70cm ~ Part IV

Oct 30, 2013

    1. YAY! Nice to be back in a new thread. Fox, my Mo 2 on the 65cm body, finally has his own outfit coming in the mail so he can stop stealing my 70cms clothes.

    2. One thing I've noticed, clothes thievery runs rampant in the doll community. I blame our permissive society.

    3. my poor dolls have always been deprived of clothes as I prefer to spend my very limited cash on yet more (naked!) resin LOL - So I've missed out on so much of the fun of doll-ownership! So I decided to give my (non-doll person) 19yr old son my first bjd for Christmas, since he has always insisted I don't sell her (he has been told of this decision and is secretly pleased, judging by his secret smile!) And of course FINALLY I bought her an entire wardrobe of new clothes from Alices Collections, to replace the rags she's worn since I got her! Of course I could just keep them all for my other dolls, since my son doesn't even know about them :wiggle

    4. Know how to curtail clothing thievery? Have dolls in multiple odd-ball sizes requiring clothes tailored to them that wear specific cultural styles. I've have this... solution for the majority of my collection and it works. It does keep me busy sewing like crazy and some poor individuals have but one outfit, but it does keep the theft to a minimum.

    5. dollhausen - There's definitely a trend of delinquency in the hobby. I've also noticed a worrying occurrence of all my money vanishing and more dolls appearing, which may or may not be correlated. I'm starting to suspect they're forming a small army.

Elve - I know what you mean, I've got one floating head that needs eyes and a body and Fox is still wanting a face-up - yet I've got a new doll on the way. Does it count if she's vinyl and not resin? :sweat You sound like an awesome mum, I'm sure he'll appreciate it. Ah, typical! Hmm, well, can't miss what you've never had right?

Iron_Dog - A darn fine solution to the problem, as admirable as your sewing skills. Unfortunately many a doll has ended up in ill fitting clothing for the simple purpose of not alarming guests when they come visiting. Ordinarily they have their own outfit waiting for them when they get here, but Fox got stuck with hand-me-downs.

    6. thanks Rockin' Resin Addict :aheartbea I assure myself that when the money runs out I will have all the rest of my life to play with my dolls/sew for them etc - Now is the time to buy as many as I possibly can LOL

Meanwhile just seen this one on the MP http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...-004-Hazel-Head-Ears-E-G-01-(Normal-Pink)-350 really interesting to see a different sculpt with Una's elf ears! I think Hazel looks good with them, and makes a great fantasy sculpt boy too!

    7. Aha! So that's what's happening. I have a similar issue which slips by because I'm terrible at paying attention to where my money goes. But now that you mention it the population here is increasing.

Back in the days when I only had one doll I bought a huge amount of clothing during the waiting period. So luckily any SD has some clothing to wear (unless they have huge Iplehouse Hips which make things more difficult).

Iron Monkey - I bought a couple MSD's but am only going to keep one and going to stick with the tried and true SD route. I'm going to develop a system of socialistic "sharing" amongst the dolls though they may rebel and chase me out of the US for my anti-capitalist ways.

Elve - Recently more dolls than clothes have been showing up. But, like Rockin' Resin Addict, I suspect a dolly conspiracy.

    8. I've got dolls from 21cm to 68cm and many of them are... interesting shapes. It does mean that my collection is rather diverse with regards to companies/sizes.

Fortunately, Fei-Lau (DZ Edward) and Khale (Leeke Khal Vampire) do wear the same style of clothes although Khale will only wear light/pastel colours while Fei-Lau will wear whatever strikes his fancy and often something that shows off his mechanical arm (thus things with little or no sleeves) while Khale prefers things with full sleeves. They cannot wear the same shoes/boots though. Khale has ginormous feet. Fei-Lau has something like 4 or 5 pairs of boots that were failed attempts to shoe Khale.

I totally stand by my argument that dolls are really little wallet vampires. You invite them into your house and the next thing you know, your bank account is drained and you've no idea how that happened and there seem to be more dolls than you initially remember there being, but they're so lovely you just don't have the heart to show them the door and....

    9. ........more show up.....

    10. I'd like to think they are Zombie dolls. Invite one in and not realize its a zombie so it infects other dolls and mutates by like cells so theres more then you remember. XD

Plus its Halloween so it should be spooky themed.

    11. I prefer vampires to zombies, Fush. Still plenty spooky!

I have 7 full dolls & 2 floating heads. The sizes range from 72cm for my biggest (and he is BIG - Dragondoll Uncle) to 2 LTF as my smallest. I of course have Silfe at 68cm, but I also have a slim mini from Ringdoll (my first doll ever!) and 2 SD13 girls. The girls can't actually share clothes though, because one of them is - *gasp* - on a modified boy body! I have another SD13 body coming for one of the heads, too, so then I'll be back to 8 full dolls.

Since I have 3 boy-bodied dolls (even though one of them is really a girl now) whenever I buy clothes, I can usually find someone to wear them. It's the opposite problem from clothes-thievery. My problem with clothes is usually that I buy something and IT DOESN'T FIT WHO I BOUGHT IT FOR. I *do* have a problem with wig-and-eye thievery, though. Tam is a booger for stealing the wigs and eyes that I buy for other dolls.

Speaking of Tam and Silfe and clothes-thievery, Silfe keeps saying he'll put his clothes back on, but he hasn't. And now he is regretting it, because Tam has decided to take his clothes off. And he gets more thoroughly naked than Silfe:

don't get ideas.... by Redfaery1987, on Flickr

Poor Silfe. I think he just wanted to send me a message that he wanted his wings. Now he's the subject of unwanted advances by his own boyfriend...

    12. Redfaery: I want to say spooky is my middle name lol but its not but it sure should be. my apartment is decorated mostly with halloween related objects. Im slowly taking over the place with the theme. no corny halloween decorations. The realistic stuff. Also i noticed all my incoming dolls are are coming nude lol. No clothing is waiting for them. well i might have to share this dress set I have thats from Iple house but yeah XD its a 3 piece dress. a skirt, a dress and a thing that goes over the dress. made for 1/4th girls but we will see how it fairs on Una XD one should always experiment till real clothing arrives.

    13. Halloween is my favorite holiday, Fush, though I wasn't able to celebrate this year. I had an appointment out of town in the morning, and then class in the afternoon. By the time I got home, I was exhausted. I didn't even wear my tooth fairy costume. (FYI - it's a scary tooth fairy; I have pliers and I'm coming for those teeth!) My celebration is going to be on the 5th. Still, I have a sneaking suspicion that Silfe may have taken the LittleFee out trick or treating while I was distracted...this morning when they saw I was sad, they both offered me their treats.

    14. I've only the one floating head and he was an accident. No, really, it's true! I ordered my first doll during a free head event at AoD and they sent me the right sculpt but in the wrong colour. I eventually got the right one and they said I could keep the other head. See? Not my fault at all.

I was fortunate that when I ordered Fei-Lau, it was during the Xmas event last year so he got a free outfit. I think Khale would wear it... if he could fit into it. I think Fei-Lau's hips are slimmer and I'm almost positive that I'd need to take Khale's hands off (which are, ironically, DZ armour hands) to get them through the sleeves. Fei-Lau looks great in the outfit, but can't really show off his arm so he doesn't wear it much.

    15. My current floating head count is actually 3. I forgot to count the MSD head, which maybe I shouldn't because I view it as an extra head for my Ring doll girl. It's the same sculpt, so I treat it like an optional extra.

I also have an AE Sachiel head who originally DID have a body, but another floating head stole it. He at least is getting fixed up soon - I bought him a body last week. I also have an IMPLdoll Erica head that needs a body. I'm considering Dragon doll, but also DollZone...

So for Precious can I get some pics of the various girl bodies? She's very small for an SD head, which is why the spindly Dragon doll body would be a good choice. I'm interested in the 58, 60, & 62cm bodies.

    16. Redfaery: aww I love your dolls. They are so cute! I didn't have the funds or the time to celebrate this year. I decided instead of that I'm going to celebrate halloween all year around since to me its the best holiday :D Poor Nimmy (Ada from Doll Chateau) wanted a treat too but was sad I had none to give D8 but thats what im going to do this weekend for him.

On top of that I'm staring at my email hoping to get some kind of notice for shipping of Una even if it been only two months since I ordered her. I really want to get her D8. I found the perfect artist for my dolls since she does it in such a way its shiny and pretty. Not heavy on the make up. I need to get my act together and order a spare set of Una ears and human ears.

    17. Redfaery, I have girls on the old 60, the original 62, and the 58. I think only the joints changed on the current 62. I don't have any naked side by side photos but here they are fully clothed. The 62 is the most slender of the three. The 60 isn't available anymore; it was also single jointed. I can take a comparison body shot of the 62 and 58 this weekend. Helen is in the middle between Cherry on the left and Yage on the right and she has a much smaller head.

I also have acquired dolls faster than their clothes; yet they seem to have a ton of shoes and wigs! My excuse for getting the dolls was to sew all their clothes so I only allow myself to buy things I can't make. :( It's a slow process for the SD girls because they all have slightly different bust and hip measurements. Helen and Yage are more similar but poor Cherry is especially busty and broad chested. I am not very good at pattern making so I usually try to adapt from purchased or enlarged Barbie patterns. I have all sorts of elaborate "story mode" costumes planned for them but for now, alas, they exist only in my imagination.:...(

    18. Anarwyn your girls look beautiful :fangirl: and so very different to each other! Did you see my tutorial on resizing human patterns? http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?594723-Resizing-Human-Patterns-Hand-Drawn-Method I've not tried anything very fitted or complicated with it yet, but there are lots of fancy-dress costume patterns which would be wonderful on dolls - If you are familiar with constructing barbie clothes patterns that's great because the human patterns are quite complicated in their garment contstruction compared to doll's clothes - so you will know all the shortcuts (like with pants being so much easier for dolls!)

Very interesting to see Helen on the 62 body as that's the body my Una's coming on - I had no idea it was so teeny! Which is great really because I ordered a blouse for her in with my son's doll's clothes, but forgot to order it in 65cm size - Alice's Collections do a lot in that size.....which I bet would fit Cherry Anarwyn *tempting* :XD: But it looks like an ordinary 1/3 top will fit the 62 body as it's so slim? I had 'the sewing rule' when I first got bjd too *sigh* lasted about 6 months before I had a splurge on Alices Collection LOL - I love that website!

As for wigs well I think they are really something worth having a stock of now. I used to buy just one wig and the doll would have no choice - and usually the one in my mind is the right one anyway - but I had a few 1/4 wigs to try on my new 1/4 girl, and was amazed at the REAL difference they made to her - And of course you can't have a bald doll sitting there - just too sad! Naked doll with fabric draped around its shoulders = OK - but bald is sad, so wigs are like part of the doll to my way of thinking - no wig, no doll, so they are worth having a bunch of. So I told myself last night as I really don't want to spend nearly £100 on just a few wigs LOL

    19. Oooh....the 62 is so skeeeny! That would work really well. The Impldoll head is very small, so a skinny body would be in order.

    20. Stacey's Pink Ocean is one clothing line I'd love to buy a ton of clothes from for Fei-Lau and Khale. There's also a company... Only-Doll, I think, that makes the style of clothing they'd wear. But while I think the clothes are beautiful and well made (I've seen some SPO clothes from a local doll group member), at a starting price of about $65 for the least expensive ones, I can't afford it *sigh*.

However, I think I do okay with my needle skills (I hand-sew everything). This is an overcoat I recently finished. My total outlay for fabric and trim was... $3. The fabric was actually a fancy-schmancy, scalloped-edged napkin I bought at a second-hand store and the silver trim and white ribbon were both dollar store purchases. I need to make a pair of white pants to go with them (the cream linen Fei-Lau is wearing is not working for me *frowns*) and I intend to make a white undershirt with flowing sleeves so Khale can wear this, too.

    21. It's not that I'm just plain bad at sewing. I just don't have the patience or the interest to apply myself. Whenever I've really gotten into it, I can produce reasonably good things. I made a yukata for my first doll that was pretty nice, even though the sleeves keep falling off, because I stitched them on by hand - I messed up when I was putting it together and forgot the sew them on at the right time. And as a child, I could sew stitches that were so tiny and even, they looked like they came from a machine. That's Aspie for you. Nowadays I mostly stick to "enhancing" existing outfits, or altering them to fit better. Simple stuff.

On the topic of clothes, I like HZ stuff, but it's really expensive. Silfe's favorite outfit is "Ancient Love," from HZ. I actually bought it on sale for $60. Not cheap, but now that the sale event is over, it's doubled in price! I have two HZ outfits, and they're both pretty good quality in general, except that the accessories tend to be more fragile than the rest of the outfit. Silfe's cord-belt has lost both its tassels, for example; the straps on the HZ ninja outfit were also very poorly made, and they flaked when I tried to use them. That ninja outfit is really cool, but it just doesn't suit a doll of Silfe's proportions. It'd look much better on an SD13.

I also have an outfit from Stacy's Pink Ocean. It's Tam's black cheongsam. I like it very much, except for the elastic waistband, which was a bit of a disappointment - the rest of the outfit is so beautifully crafted, having elastic in his pants just looks weird. It's a very simple yet dignified outfit, and I think one of the cheapest that's offered. I believe it cost about $57.

    22. I do virtually all my boys pants (regardless of size) with elastic at the waist just because it allows for more of my boys to share stuff. I have made fitted pants, but they end up being doll specific just because so many of my guys have... interesting measurements.

I like some of the HZ outfits, too, but again, I can't afford them *sigh*. There's a couple of outfits HZ makes that would be perfect for a future doll, but he's an odd size and there is no way any the outfit would fit on him.

    23. they look lovely Redfaery - that's a beautifully composed photograph!

I love that coat you made Iron_Dog - what a great find that napkin was! :)

    24. Thank you. I also bought a table cloth at the same time in a grey-blue colour with a snowflake pattern on it for $3. I figure that's a perfect pattern and colour for a god of winter storms. I just need to find the time to actually get around to making the pattern I envision, cutting it out and sewing it together.

    25. I finally got off my duff and took some photos of my DZ (or half DZ) girls today! Tsumiko, my Shuang Er, and Caroline who is a hybrid with a DZ body had fun posing with me today for photos. :D

    26. Elve, Thanks for the link! :) The outfit you made turned out really cute! I hadn't seen your tutorial before although I have seen the Del Rae instructions for enlarging human patterns. I should try it out some day; the range of outfits would be endless! I have quite a stash of Barbie patterns from when my daughters were little so that's why I started with them. Believe it or not I had never looked at Alice's collections before. I am going to have to spend some time browsing! (Why do I always go to the shoes first!:sweat) I think a 1/3 size top should probably fit. The top Yage was wearing in my previous post was from an Adams-Harris pattern http://www.adams-harris.com/pattern_sheet/sd/sweet_jane.html that was sized for an Iplehouse Cocori and it fits Helen just fine.

Redfaery, Here's Marcella, my Helen, on the 62 and Maddie, my Yage, on the 58 large bust. The 58 is pretty slim too and with the small bust you would probably get a more petite look.

Iron_Dog, the overcoat is quite pretty (is it okay to say that about a guy's overcoat?); I can't believe that came from a napkin. :o I never would have guessed!

AlmySidaKay, your girls look so cute together, that's a great photo. They do look like they were having! :fangirl:

    27. Fei-Lau is okay with the pretty designation. When I bought the napkin, I wasn't sure just what I'd make with it but I loved the colour and pattern on it and the scalloped edges were lovely.

This doesn't show Khale's outfit to the best advantage but I figure I can't post a pic of just him as he's not a DZ (although he is wearing DZ hands!). So this was the best shot I could find with him and Fei-Lau with Khale in this outfit. The over-robe is made out of a blouse of mine that I loved but couldn't wear anymore. The sleeves are pretty much the same, just narrowed somewhat to fit the arm holes. When Khale has his arms at his sides, the sleeves go well past his fingers.

    28. wow you have a great imagination with your dolls Iron_Dog - mine are all so straight and boring LOL :XD:

AlmySidaKay your girls look totally adorable together - I love the way you've styled them all :fangirl:

Anarwyn....join date 2009.....not seen Alices Collections before :o How have you survived??! When I realised, about 6 months after getting my first bjd, that the sewing plan was NOT happening *sigh* I cautiously ordered just a blouse from AC - paid $5 for shipping, and even so it was barely over $15 - I waited patiently for 6 weeks, just like you have to wait for a doll to be made, you have to wait for AC clothes to be made....And then the blouse came - absolutely amazing in detail and perfectly sewn - nothing I could have even attempted to make myself! Been hooked on AC ever since :blush my poor dusty sewing machine....My latest experience with AC was as I said, ordering a bunch of 'in stock' girl outfits for the doll I'm giving my lucky son for Christmas (reminds me slightly of the time my father bought my 3yrs old baby sister Scalextrix for Christmas LOL - well I will play with it if he doesn't!) Well I bought the entire basket full of 'in stock' hoping for a speedy delivery (it's free DHL express delivery if you order over $100 of clothing/wigs/shoes - I wasn't sure of their stock level for shoes/wigs though) - Waited a week for them to process and pack it, got my tracking number on the Wednesday and the bundle was delivered on Friday! So hard not to open all the little packets and try them on my dolls :XD: Alices are really good with communication too - what would I do without them? (sew????)

Also thanks for that photo Anarwyn - As I'm about to order another big girl it's really helpful! I think it looks like DZ use the same arms on both dolls, as the arms look proportionately longer on the 58cm body - or is that just the photo angle? They also appear to have the same shoulder width? So now I'm pretty sure that normal 1/3 clothes will fit my Una, although any skirts/pants will be too short maybe.....

    29. oh no!!! :o *at the 11th hour* I have just noticed Stramonium for the first time - properly - done an image search too - she's got a really unusual, nice look to her - Anyone here got a Stramonium?

    30. elve: thank you! I was wary of letting Silfe stand on the table, but he behaved himself for once and didn't try to dive off...
AlmaSidaKay: oooh, I love how lanky the 62cm is. I like it a lot.

    31. elve: Thank you. All my dolls are characters from the novels I write. Fei-Lau, Khale and Sleet are from a series of stories that fall under the Absolute title. Khale's background story is called Absolute Zero, Sleet's background story is Absolute Psychotic, Fei-Lau's background story is Absolute Divinity and Fei-Lau and Sleet's combined story is Absolute Symbiotic. The story of all three of them getting together is a novel I'm almost finished writing called Absolute Destiny. All the stories, with the exception of Absolute Destiny, are available as free reads on my author LJ.

    32. Anarwyn, I appreciate those body pictures you posted too. Thank you!

The arms don't look like the same sculpt, because of where the inside of the elbow falls, but I agree they do look like the same length. I think the 58cm body sculpt is more like the old 60cm body in style, except for the torso. The torso on the old 60cm looked rather unnatural (though I like it and have three of those bodies myself).

    33. That looks amazing Iron_Dog; the colours are beautiful. I love the posing and angle of the second photo; very candid.

I like the simplicity of the posing in that photograph Redfaery, and the contrast of your dolls. The outfits are lovely.

Beautiful girls AlmySidaKay, and such diversity! Loving your stylistic choices.

Very pretty girls Anarwyn and a useful photograph.

The feet on the 65cm body are so detailed! I've never actually taken the time to look at them before.

    34. Elve, well, I pretty much purposefully avoided looking at clothing sites so I wouldn't be tempted! There is more to it though; I have two adult daughters who also have dolls but don't have the income to just buy stuff for them whenever they want. I would feel too guilty buying just for myself and not them. When I do order I try to include something for their dolls also and that can get kind of expensive. This year neither of them are getting dolls for Christmas so I suggested buying clothes instead and we sit around playing with our dolls for the day. Unfortunately my older daughter really needs clothes for herself more! :( Looking at Alice's Collections though I might just have to put something in our stockings...:3nodding:

It turns out the 58 body does have longer arms than the 62!

The upper arm is the same but the lower part is longer, pretty much the same as the old 60. This picture also points out the issues with the original joints on the 62 body. Marcella's arms won't turn inward; not even the bottom section will rotate. She also can't hold her arms totally straight; she is tightly strung and the resin pieces rub against each other. I have not seen the new joints in person but I am hoping that has been fixed. It's not a deal breaker for me just kind of frustrating. Otherwise she poses great! :fangirl:

Stramonium and Tulip are two sculpts I wish I could see more of too! Especially since this is the last chance outside of the marketplace. I have had my eye on them since I got Helen but I have so many dolls already I really have to be selective...I am running out of space! :...(

    35. I wish they still did Yage Anarwyn - she's got a gorgeous, natural face :aheartbea Wow that is so interesting about their arms too - thank you so much for that photo, it's a great help! :)

As for doll's clothes well I have spent more on them in the past month or so than on my own clothes in the past year or so LOL - yes but dolls NEED clothes - they feel the cold don't they? :|

    36. Yes they do! In fact mine are complaining to me right now...it's November and here they are sitting around in their undies and bandage tape!

    37. That seems like a huge height difference for only being 4cm different :o That being said, I'm also surprised the 62cm arms are actually shorter than the 58cm ones. By logic you'd think they'd be a titch longer. Is that the older 62cm body or the newer one?

    38. to buy or not to buy, that is the question *sigh* Now got it into my mind that Stramonium in yellow skin would look awesome in a black wig - But I had planned on getting Latte - money money wherefore art thou money? :? oh I've gone all Shakespearean - must be the stress of decision-making on a budget - I just can't decide! Maybe I should just get Latte's head, along with Clovera's - But that body looks really 'right' for Latte I think, with the narrow shoulders etc.

    39. I realized I won't be able to put Latte on layaway and by the time I'm able to all the girls will be gone. So I think I missed out on her :/ I never see her on the MP either. I do love her. I guess i should be glad I got my first wishlist doll on order, Una. Darn you odd payday week.

I'm glad everyone was able to get some of the lovely girls :D

    40. Time's like this I'm glad MoC does six-month layaway, because I'd never be able to afford Tulip otherwise! I plan on ordering her just before the deadline -- no point in doing it sooner if I know my order won't even be submitted till the 18th. Kinda wanted Stramonium too (in yellow skin, with a black wig elve!), but the more I look at her now, the more that I'm not 100% sure she'd fit as Linna. Had to go with the one I was more sure of, Tulip as Sylia (in pink skin). So there you have it.

    41. It's the original 62cm body not the newer one. I think all they changed was the jointing but I can't say for sure. I have never seen the newer one in person and it is hard to tell from the photos.
I just realized you are doing the Bubblegum Crisis characters! :doh I think Tulip will make a great Sylia. :3nodding:

    42. I finally took some somewhat proper photos of Rocaille, so drive-by moody Edward spam? XD

Now I need to take proper photos of his sister Cici. ^^;;; (she's a Clare)

    43. YAY, someone who knows BGC!! :) Yes, I am! The girls I've done so far are characters from my BGC fanfics. I am only just getting started on the actual characters from the series!

    44. acanthiel your Edward has such a different look - still sexy though LOL - the boy can't help it!

Fush can't you buy a Latte head with faceup at least? She is such an unusual sculpt is why I'm reluctant to let her pass by, in spite of the lack of owner-pics which I REALLY would like to see before I buy a doll!

Yumeko-chan I have never heard of Bubblegum Crisis - I will do some research immediately! (any excuse not to clean the house!) I showed my son a photo of Stramonium last night and he said 'yes - I like her - very glamourous' - the voice of approval! He'd like her full-set, and it is nice, but I just can't afford it - I can't even afford her LOL

Meanwhile.....Dollzone just released their Winter event too - oh they like to torture us poor dolly addicts  http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?600697-Dollzone-2013-Christmas-Event I really love Eudora - which strangely is what my incoming Una is to be called!

    45. Hi, I will hijack this threads with a couple of questions :apirate:

Firstly, I am wanting a Byron, but on a female body, does anyone know if it would fit on ether the 58 or 62 cm body ?
Secondly, could anyone tell me what their layaway policies are ?

      Thanks in Advance

    46. Funny, I have the same idea. The thing is that Byron's neck size is 10cm and the female bodies are 8cm. The 65cm girl body has a 9.3cm neck size which would put it pretty close. Since it's on sale I'm thinking about buying one for Byron....I have one on order but it's for a hybrid....

    47. That's the best kind of drive-by acanthiel  Love the moody lighting and his slight backwards angle, really tells a story.

It's interesting to hear about the female Byrons. Dollzone have such versatile sculpts; a lot of their boys do make especially lovely women (although I'm afraid my DZ girl conversion is a mini, so I can't help with the body questions).

    48. Yeah, I saw the neck sizes, the 58 cm body actually has a 9 cm neck. I could probably fix the neck hole with some modding, however I would like to know whether it would look good or if it would look completely out of proportions to put Byron on a 58 or 62 cm body (preferably the latter), I think 65 is to big for me considering the dolls she will be paired up with if I get her.

It's a bit embarrassing to admit , but actually what I really want is one of those Christmas event critters, which is why I went to site to begin with, though Byron actually fits a character I am planning to shell anyway, so hopefully I can get this to work. :)

    49. Oh, although Fox's head is meant for the 60cm body and fits perfectly fine on the 65cm body if that helps at all.

    50. I'm still thrashing about trying to afford all the girls I want LOL - I have had to accept it's impossible - so my collection of floating heads will be growing no doubt!

    51. thanks for the info Rockin' Resin Addict, I think I will try and put his head on a 62cm female body, hopefully any modification I have to make won't be so visible that they can't be covered by hair.

By the way, how do one order from DollZone anyway ? I can't see any shopping chart feature on the site or anything.

    52. Usually you go through a dealer for dollzone cheesedemon88 there are a few in Europe, although as Norway is not in the EU you'd have to check they ship there. There is also Jeeryama on ebay, in China - she's very good but be aware you may have import taxes to pay

    53. And so to my final decision - yes this decision is FINAL!!! probably....Stramonium, last minute impulse-buy, has beaten Latte, long-term planned purchase - isn't that always the best way to do things? Latte and Clovera will be heads - in fact I've been thinking how cute Clovera twins would be :XD: So I'm getting 2 heads!

Which brings me to bodies - been looking at fdoll, mirodoll and AoD - mirodoll being stupidly cheap at £80 INCLUDING POSTAGE - I will give it a try, although I know I won't really like it that much....fdoll looks nice, and is a bit cheaper than AoD, but AoD is probably a better resin match? Not that I can afford any of them as I'm collecting heads at the moment :|

Anyone know which would be a better match for dollzone new (ie: very pale) pink?

    54. Interesting, both Mint on Card and Denver Doll Emporium list that neck as 8cm and though DZ's site has it as 9cm they list Latte's (58cm doll)neck as 8cm. Since Byron is 60cm boy I imagine that any of these sizes would look fine. I'll go 65cm and you go 58cm and then we take comparison shots! Then the boys heads will be discontinued.....

    55. I've been looking at their boy's heads today just to prepare myself - there are so many I really like too - I'm going to have a huge box of heads at this rate, and need a crate of bodies from mirodoll or somewhere LOL

    56. Elve - I see very interesting photographic possibilities for you in the future....plus you'll have far less posability problems!

    57. LOL dollhausen - I'll save a fortune on clothes and shoes as well!

    58. :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: Dollhausen and Elve!!

So Elve, will you be ordering Stramonium then? Looking forward to seeing more of her here. And three more heads? You go, girl! :sumomo::sumomo: I am sooo envious!!

    59. Acanthiel, that is a great shot of your Edward; I really like his "moody" look. :aheartbea He definitely has a different feel to him. I like seeing the versatility of a sculpt, and I am liking Edward more and more. I would love to see your Clare too. I am not sure I have ever seen one outside of the official pics.

Yumeko-chan, are you modeling your characters after the original or the Tokyo 2040 Bubblegum Crisis?

Elve, a decision is never final until you press the purchase now button.

I have only had two floating heads in the past and they didn't stay that way long before they just had to have their own bodies. It is hard to pass up on them especially at the sale prices. I do regret I never got a Celine head before they were discontinued.

I am thinking about the boys too since it seems inevitable they will be discontinued. I have always liked the Cosmo sculpt but now considering Alpha and Edward thanks to everyone's pictures. I do like the 65 cm boy body that is on my Virgil. Not sure about the 68...:|
