I still haven't found an appropriate chain on which she can wear her silver cross, and now I've mislaid the cross too. Fail D:...

Found the cross; still haven't got a chain. The trouble is that I can't seem to find any chains that aren't a very shiny sort of (fake) silver. The cross is a real silver cross, which doesn't look good on a glittery, fake silver chain :/. I am looking for something with an 'old silver' finish; it's easy enough to find chains that look like 'old gold', so I don't know why the silver is so hard to find... I think I'll plait some silk thread until I find something suitable.

I'm so glad you like Morgana's look! She was so difficult to get right and that got me really worried, but I'm happy with her now .

 

I'm such a naughty dolly keeper. No new, spiffy pictures (although I'm planning to get a couple this weekend!), but Arthur still wanted to say Hi to the new thread.


Also, what size girl dolls would you guys say would pair well with a 65cm Dollzone boy body? I'd like her to be proportionally similar but come up to his chin/nose area.

Personally, I like how my Granado girl (on Nuevo body) looks next to my 65 cm boy. I suppose she is a bit taller than you describe, but the proportion of her body compared to his is very nice. My Florie is about 62 cm tall. I'm waiting for a 5stardoll body for Gawain's first wife, Lady Ragnell, so in a hopefully not so long time I'll be able to show that (also 62 cm) body looks next to the 65 cm boys too.

New dolly! I got a 65cm DZ Brant off the marketplace. I wasn't sure if I was going to keep the Brant head, but... He'll have two heads, as I love his custom faceup far more than I thought I would. It's so detailed! He has the cutest scar on his left eyebrow. The other will be a Minimee head for a TV character, Pete Hutter. The body is awesome! Far more posable than the Angel of Dream body I got for him earlier, and much more proportional to the sort of small SD size head.

Here's a terrible phone picture because I just couldn't wait for better lighting! I actually ran to the post office during lunch from work yesterday, and can now say I've joined the ranks of those who have opened a doll at the office (well, technically in the trunk of my car).

 

Anyone know any good places to look for shoes for 60cm girl? Her feet are kind of big and I wanted to get her some heels

 

I buy shoes for my larger girl from Soom, but it's probably better to wait for a GO, just because of shipping...


Also, I have a lovely picture of my new Brant (with his own head) taken by the great IronFixXer on DOA. It's from our annual pool meetup. (Thank you, to the lovely lady who sold him, for not shipping him buck naked!)

I'm intrigued too, he looks like an actor or musician I've seen, but I can't put my finger on who it is! I especially like how his eyes are painted.

does anyone know when they are releasing the two new SD dolls, Lucia & Norris? I would put a layaway on Lucia for her fullset but so far any layaway site i've been to is either still down from moving ( mint on card) or they don't have any information on her or him yet

 

They are available on the Dollzone website, so I would suggest mailing Mint on Card. I think the dolls are very new - either from today or yesterday. The shops like Mint on Card usually need a few days to update everything on their sites.

So - love on first sight? That is how crashed for Renate too. What atracks you in Lucia? I like Norris his ears! Lucia might appeal aspecially to people who like the classic bjd's?

 

The moment I saw her photo on the news thread. normally every morning i check DoA in case like some limited doll or something special is released because I have missed out on sooo many so far. but I'm happy she is not limited. I love her face up and the outfit. I'm not sure what style I would compare her to. I would say steampunk a little but to me her face up reminds me more of like a harlequin type

But Yes I do want her full set and the face up. just everything about her is beautiful!

I like Norris too. his facial expression and face up is amazing. and also I do like the pointy like ears even though I'm not a huge fan of the pointy ear type

 

Isn't Norris just a different version of Floy? They look so similar! You know, like Anson and Qianxun are the same mold and Moment and Qianyu.

 

I thought so too! Right down to the ears. I went back to read the description more closely, and sure enough, it says "Nude doll is Floy". His default body is different though, since they discontinued the b60-001.

She kinda does! I love Lucia's faceup. :3 And yay new thread (and me being behind as always). xD All my DZ dolls except for the Leo who I got off ebay some 2+ years late have arrived pretty tightly strung, as far as I can tell it's normal for the company.

Have some Celine spam, from outside where I live. She's borrowing Ashe's 60cm boy body for the pic, I'm thinking she'll get the 62cm girl body when I get that far.

 

See, that's what I love about Dollzone: they care about their customers! They even have their own personal mind-reader who tells them, "wait, is that doll fo Sigune? Let's not string it too tightly then; you know she has spaghetti instead of muscle in her arms..."

I'm new to DoA so I hope I'm posting this in the right place...

I'm getting DollZone Memphis (and event doll GuoGuo) for Christmas and I'm looking for clothes. I was trying to find clothes through Mint On Card and found some clothes I like by HZ but I don't know if the clothes will fit DollZone 65cm boys. I tried comparing measurements of HZ dolls and DollZone dolls but I'm still unsure. Does anyone know if HZ clothes (for their 65cm boys) fit DollZone 65cm boys? Or maybe someone can tell me where they found clothes that fit DollZone 65cm boys? Also, DollZone GuoGuo is such a strange size... Does anyone know how to find clothes for her?

 

I also recently acquired a DZ 65cm body, and I'm just going to make him clothes. I can tell you the chest and shoulders are all wrong for SD17 vests, though. Fail there.

Alo, does anyone have comparison pics of the DZ 65cm boy with the old (or new) DZ 60cm girl body? The picture request forum has failed me...

 

My 65cm Cosmo wears mostly SD17 clothes. I've just bought random stuff for him on Ebay. Many 70cm doll pants are too long in the trouser leg obviously, but an ok fit other ways. Blueblood doll Uncle sized jeans were the best fit I've found so far. Alice's Collection 70cm pants did not fit him, as his thighs are too massive, but most SD17 the top parts have been just great. I do sew quite a bit for him though too... I've never tried HZ either, and would be curious to find out if they fit the 65cm body too!

 

I can't sew at all so I won't be making clothes for any of my dolls anytime soon...

After searching through old threads I found some recommendations. One of them was CrobiDoll M-Line Boy clothes. They have a good selection and based on their doll measurements it seems as though those clothes should fit DollZone 65cm boys very well. I'm going to try buying something from there.

While trying to find doll clothes that fit, someone mentioned somewhere (I can't remember where I saw it) that HZ will make clothing custom fit for your doll. I don't know how this works but it would be nice to have something made specifically for your doll.

 

Hi EriChanHime, Blankqueen. and cnmorgan! I just started the Dollzone 65cm Boys Database here on the forum and would love to invite you to post a picture or two of your wonderful 65cm boys in the new database.

Everyone with DZ 65 boy is invited, even if the headsculpt is no longer on the original 65cm body. (The more 65cm love the better! )

About clothes, I purchased a shirt and vest from TATA's SD-17 section, and they fit pretty good. The black slacks/pants I got from MOC, from the 65cm section, and they were a perfect fit. I should think that with one of their exclusives being a Dollzone 65cm boy, they would have clothes that fit him.

Rabbit-moon, thanks for mentioning those other companies. I'll check them out when I get the chance. I won't have my new DollZone boy until December because he's my Christmas present. But once he gets here I'll definitely post some pictures!

 

Has anyone tried putting a 65 cm boy in Iplehouse SID clothes?

I'm asking mostly because, whereas I don't have Grail Dolls, I have Grail Suits - the ones made by FreedomTeller. They are really expensive though, so I'd hate to buy one that doesn't fit... They offer both SD17 and SID-sized clothes in the 65 cm range, but... Any idea what would be the best option?

 

Whoa, new thread, I'm behind the times.

Sigune: Gosh, those FreedomTeller suits are just aren't they? I'm pretty sure SID is not going to work though. SIDs are huge. I don't have a DZ 65cm body, but my 70cm Yuu would probably swim in my SID's clothes. I haven't tried them on him directly, but my IoS 70cm Jaguar (who fits into DZ 70 pants well but is too broad in the chest to wear DZ 70 shirts) sometimes wears my SID's dress shirt and it's a very loose, casual look on him. Anything more tailored would look funny.
I realize that's a convoluted chain - Doll broader than DZ 70 is too small for SID clothes but yeah... SIDs may be 65cm tall but they are much bigger around than DZ guys. Mintoncard says that DZ 65 is 27.6 cm around the chest and 15 cm across the shoulders. IoS 70 is 29 cm around the chest and 14 cm across the shoulders. And SID is a whopping 33.7 cm around the chest and 17 cm across the shoulders.

Thank you very much for that info, cowpewter! You're right, a suit tailored for a 33.7 cm chest isn't going to look great on my man :/. I started looking in the direction of SIDs because the models in FreedomTeller's photos look so much slimmer than my Gawain. That must be no more than an impression, though, because I compared the Volks SD17 measurements with those I took myself on the 65 cm DZ body and they match almost exactly.

Dare I...? I'm seriously going to cry if I order such a suit and it doesn't fit :p. Because, boy, those suits... *swoons*

And it would be pure fancy, because my guy is, you know, medieval... XD

Hi! I've had a DZ Chen for a year now, and I absolutely love DZ dolls. I love all the spam you guys! I shall contribute my own:


I just got him a new pair of ears, so I need to blush them to match his tail. His name is Val.

 

Aw, roguegirl9929, Piper is adorable. Is she tan? I like her faceup, she's wearing just enough eyeshadow to compliment her skintone.

Chen is so pretty. I...actually have one coming in this week that I got off the MP. Poor guy though, I bought him to try stealing his body for Cassius, my AngelToast Hawk. I'm hoping the 72cm body is narrow enough that he won't look pinheaded, since he's designed for a 60cm body, but even though his face sculpt is perfect for his character, he's become out of scale with the rest of the cast *shakes fist at Soom and Iplehouse* He's supposed to be built like a scarecrow, all tall and usually forgets to eat cause he's too busy doing research. According to the official measurements (not that DZ is always good with that), the neck on this body is thinner than the AoD body he's currently on (which is definitely too big in the neck so that will be an improvement) and the chest circumference is the same, so I'm really crossing my fingers that he'll look okay. The shoulders are wider though, that worries me. Oh, hybrids... I'll just have to wait to see when he gets here.

The Chen head coming with the body has a gorgeous faceup though (amusingly also by AngelToast), and Chen is probably my favorite DZ sculpt after Yuu, so I definitely want to keep him even if Cass steals his body. I think I'm going to get him a Doll Chateau body and he will become the fae (as as 'fair folk') owner of the host club that my Floy works in... Oh which reminds me, my Floy has a new wig, I should come back later with spam. I'm still having trouble figuring out how to style it. It's Leeke and it's supposed to be an asymmetrical cut but it almost seems...not quite right? I think it's actually going to need styling product.

Cowpewter - Thanks! His snake is actually a little dragon that hangs around with him, and yes he is a fox. Chen is such an amazing sculpt, I loved it from the beginning and couldn't help myself, I had to have one for my character Val. Can't wait to see your Floy with his new wig!

 

Cowpewter: Nope. Real skin Yellow. I'm not happy with her face-up. It's the default and I think it's too pale for me.

 

Oh haha. I took a look at DZ's page, saw theit new 60 cm boy Randall and though, "OMG the Aurora sculptor is back!" The I realised that Randall is Aurora on a boy body :P. Well, she makes a cute boy. I love that face so much...

roguegirl9929, I agree about the face-up. She's a cute girl; I think a darker face-up would bring out her sculpt more .

 

I'm currently saving up for a DZ Edward and he's decided that he has a mecha/cyborg arm. RD makes 2 versions but they're designed for their 63cm and 70cm doll. Edward (according to the DZ site) is 68cm. Do you see my issue? I've tried posting & bumping a thread in the picture request gallery and not a single response *sigh*. So I'm throwing myself at the mercy of this thread hoping one of you kind souls will take pity on me and have the info I need.

MoC gave me measurements (because they're wonderful like that) of the RD mecha arm in stock, which is the 63cm (and the one I like best incidentally) and the inner circumference is about 6cm at the elbow (it's only the forearm/hand for this arm). The other arm (for the 70cm and for the entire arm) has a shoulder hole where the arm would go, inner circumference a little over 10cm. Could somebody with the B68-001 body measure that for me?

 

Well, measuring my Edward, I get a solid 7 cm for the lower double-joint piece, which is what the Ringdoll arm would have to sit against by the look of it...so I would think that the smaller Ringdoll arm would be a bit too small. The shoulder ball (measuring around the part that sits in the shoulder cup) is between 10 and 11 cm (kinda hard to measure exactly LOL) so I am thinking that seems spot on to the 70cm arm. Also, you have to consider length...if you are only giving him one cyborg arm, you don't want it to be very noticeably shorter or longer than his natural arm (unless that is the look you are going for) so I would think the larger one would be more in proportion, as well....

 

Acanthiel: Thank you very much for the info. It sounds like the 70cm is going to be the way to go. I was hoping for the other arm (the 63cm one) as it's cast in silver resin, but such is life. RD only makes the two arms and one is left and one is right. At least now I know how much more to save for. And since I planned on ordering Fei-Lau (Edward) in white skin, the arm I need will probably look rather stunning since it's in black resin.

 

Does anyone know if a yellow skintone Cosmo head would work on a yellow Dragondoll Uncle body or a Loongsoul 72cm body? I'd love to see my Cosmo go 70+, but would prefer him to have some more muscle than the DZ 70+ bodies have... I would really really appreciate any opinions with this!!

...I have had quite the experience. A little one, but one nonetheless.

So...I decided to loosen Max (my Joe) because his snapping backward is beginning to annoy me some. I found his knot in the chest, and...my mind was blown.

There is no extra AT ALL on the stringing for slack. It's cut flush against the knot, and Max is TIGHT. Does Dollzone regularly do this? I'm going to have to get some new elastic, because holy crap. XD Like this my only option would be somehow forcing him into a pretzel pose and keeping him like that for a while to forcibly stretch the elastic out!

 

My two DollZones from the factory have had a little bit of slack in them. I can pull my newest girl's legs out two or three inches, but the knots are cut very close.

I'm sure this question has been answered before, but what tops will fit a 60cm body? The bust is so much bigger than the 58cm body that I'm not sure I'll be able to have them share tops!

 

Delightfully, my Brant is no longer nekkid! Of course, that's because he stole Arthur's clothes (DZ 70cm Yuu). Strangely, they fit the 65cm body better; he just fills things out nicer.

 

Have you tried some of the tops that fit the 58cm girl on the 60cm body? I just did a quick comparison measurement between my Volks SD13 and the DZ b60-002 girl body, and though the cup size is considerably larger on the DZ, the bust measurement is only about 1.5cm bigger around. I did put a Volks SD16 dress on my new Linlan, and it is too large for her in the bust.

Stretchy tops seem to be very forgiving, that's mostly what my DZ girls wear.

Argh...I can barely pull Max apart anywhere at all. I suppose he'll have to wait until I get new elastic, but I'm fine with him for now. I just need to fight with him a little to get him to sit up straight.

EriChanHime: He's looking good! (And like he totally claimed all of those pillows for himself and only himself. XD ) Do you mind if I ask where you got those boots? They're awesome!

the previous owner had cut them off halfway an broken a zipper. I fixed it and then sewed a matching band of folded fabric at the top to protect the zipper. I actually like them better than the originals.

 

Kaninchen - You can try curling him up into a fetal position and putting him in a box or something that will hold him like that for a little bit. That should force the elastic to stretch out a little and maybe make him a bit more handleable until you can buy new elastic.

EriChanHime - Your Brant looks so comfortable. And definitely pleased with himself.

I've fiiiiinally come with the Floy spam that I promised ever so long ago (I think it was in the last thread!). And bonus Chen spam too.

So here's a group portrait, with my new Chen and my Floy and his little sister Feilian, both of whom just got new wigs recently from Leeke's summer stuff - custom color mixes. Both my Floy and Feilian are the kitty-eared versions, but they're not wearing their ears until I can covert them from springs to magnets - I don't want to cut holes in their wigs. Luckily their wigs also cover the fact that currently they have no ears at all.

 

Cowpewter - You have a lovely bunch of dolls! I love your Chen, I have one too!


I just redid his face up this morning. I still need to blush his fox ears so he's not wearing them in the picture.

 

Oh, I have been looking at Chen for sale lately, you guys are tempting me too much.
