Dollzone Discussion ~ 60 and 70cm ~ Part VII

Dollzone changed their resin colors about a year and a half ago. Their white is no longer paper white, but creamy white. So what you got @MrFjmg2003 is most likely the new correct color, and probably isn't the result of yellowing/mellowing.

I second what @Cloudedmind said, DollZone's new WS is most definitely creamy white. My Raymond is the same color too ^___^ love the body, btw! *O*

Also, kinda late, but... woah, @Iron_Dog, @Quiet and Insane and @Redfaery, so sorry to hear about your misadventures with restringing D: getting pinched and even hurt to the point of bleeding isn't fun at all D: however, I'll admit that your experiences helped me feel not so alone... at least now I know that accidents are not so unlikely to happen D:

Thank you. Somebody send me a picture of comparing DZ new white and the old white. So the color I got his the new white and it hasn't mellow. It is the right color. I didn't know DZ has change their WS skin so I was expecting something papaer white, but the new white is gorgeous

 

Worked on the Sandman a bit and changed the eyes to new marbles.

Here are not only your thread but also when people discussed getting Merlin in the the Dollzone discussion thread. You can always ask in there how did people like their Merlin.

 

I own a Merlin, and honestly I adore him. ^.^ His sculpt is very versatile even though you wouldn't think it could be with that pout of his...but I've seen other owner pics of him make him look demure or pouty or downright sassy. My own has the somber sassiness down, his punky defiant character is very different than the gentle looking Merlins I've seen around.

He has the cutest profile too!

I'm not sure what exactly you're looking for...specific ideas on appearances? Or if you're curious as to how others have their Merlins styled but I agree with checking out the above links.

Alsoooo, Tyler got his new eyes!



Aaaaand... I'm still not 100% happy with them ò__ò aside from the fact that apparently the other pair of blue eyes I ordered from Angelesque was not in stock, so for now he's stuck with having both eyes of the same color when he's supposed to have heterochromia, I think they still look too big on him. And they're 14mm, so two sizes smaller than what he's supposed to wear according to Dollzone ò___ò I also got a pair of 16mm eyes of the same color, I didn't even dare to try them on him, since these were already so big .__. oh well, at least these *do* reflect the light and do not make his eyes look like they're two black holes XD

Anyway, I ordered a pair of small iris eyes from BlueberryStyle on Etsy (they also do heterochromia sets, if you request them! ^___^), hoping this time they will fit

The ones I ordered right now are these ones: BJD acrylic eyes - small iris - 14mm - 16mm
I ordered them in 16mm (the iris difference between 14mm and 16mm eyes was just 1mm, so I decided to go with a bigger eye size to avoid gapping), colors #4 and #9. You're right, finding the right eye size and color is super difficult! D: I never had that trouble with my first doll because his default eyes were exactly what I needed for him, luckily, but now that I got 2 more dolls + 2 floating heads, finding eyes for them is proving to be super frustrating! D: I have, like, already 6 pairs of eyes I couldn't make use of because they turned out to be too big, despite the size was supposedly right for the dolls I got them for XD[/user]

 

Has anyone seem the new girls? I think Cynthia is actually pretty cute! Does anyone know if Dollzone will accept requests for their face-ups. I like Cynthia's, but the snowy pattern on the sides of her face is too fantasy for me. I don't like the blue tipped ears either.

It has been two months since I took Gray's last photo... I got some spare time today, and he got some new photos.

I am so in love with the Gray sculpt, but have told myself I can't bring anymore SD-sized boy into this house until I move a lesser-loved boy out of the house and into a new home. But, every time I start to handle one of my older boys with the intent of selling him, I land up falling with him again. *sigh* So, I guess, Gray is going to remain a dream, for the time being.

I have some more spam of Tyler, too. We've had snow in these past two days, which is something you basically never see in Southern Italy (seriously, I'm 28 and I'd never seen a proper snow before yesterday o__O), soooo... had to take a few pics of my boy to celebrate! ^___^

Does anyone here have a DZ B60-005 body ? please I need help from someone who knows this body.

I ordered the body through taobao and they just send me photos. I ordered it in normal pink skin.

On the photos the skin looks yellow and the hands don't look like the hands from the official photos

Are those hands ok?

It also came with that ugly blushing, I hate it so much. It's not even similar to the blushing from the official photos and the hands look like spaghetti, they don't look like the beautiful delicate hands from the official photos.

I really thought I was ordering from Dollzone but I just double checked, the seller isn't dollzone!! I don't know this seller so now I'm afraid I was sold a recast, maybe? even though the price was the same from Dollzone, that's why I didn't suspect anything.

If someone can tell me if the hands are ok or not so I can ask taobao to return the doll and give me a refund because I don't want a recast and the color doesn't look like normal pink. Thanks in advance!

 

I asked taobao if it came with the dollzone box and they said yes! and if you say that the bubble wrap is from dollzone then I feel more relieved now!!! hopefully it is just the camera settings and the angles that are giving me a bad vibe, I won't ask for a refund and I will cross my fingers hoping for the best.

The taobao link doesn't work anymore which is another reason why I freaked out, the Octarine link is only to show the official photos since it was the first site I found when I typed the doll in google. I ordered the doll last year in October and I remember that the seller had it as the real doll, it didn't say it was a recast. I even thought it was Dollzone because the photos were the official photos and everything.



Those 3 photos are the only ones I have that show the hands well. Thank you for asnwering, I feel better now.

 

I figure out that dollzone company don’t have recast on taobao. The biggest recast seller on taobao didn’t make any doll from dollzone. I asked my friends, they confirmed about that.

 

They assured me that the doll doesn't look yellow in real life and it's coming. I will post pictures once I get it! Thank you for your messages I know I overreacted, it's my first time buying from taobao so when I saw the hands didn't look similar to the official photos and the yellow color and the messy blushing, I thought the worst and I needed some reassurance ^^;

I switched Silfe's shirt out for one that's made of thinner material. Those coat sleeves must be pretty tight, because suddenly his range of motion has improved greatly! He's very pleased with me right now. As a bonus, the gauzier shirt looks very smexy.

 

Redfaery, yes, he's as sexy as can be in that shirt! Love him!

HunYi, what sculpt is your gorgeous boy?

 

When Ciske say "nah" or "mwa" or something like that, he is not much interested. He had 4 or 5 owners before me and nobody wanted him. He came filthy, dirty, sticky and has strings were completely worn out. He had weird eyes and a sticky wig. He was obvious neglected for quite some time. He ever was a full set with full blushing and face up. His boots and some accessoire were missing. He came with 2 pairs of boots and some extra clothing which i washed and used for the set in the picture. I used his full set for his elf war gear which is still under construction.

Ciske is completely overhauled, got new strings, new wig, new eyes, some new clothes, new shoes and i adapted the rest of his outfit.

Ciske is a Dollzone Floy, probably the first or second generation, but i am not sure. He is quite old but since his COA is lost (if Dollzone did that anyway in their first generations), it is hard to find out how old he actually is.
