    4. I just want to point out to anyone looking at the pictures to notice how uneven the headcap seems, and how rough the eyes look. Be aware you'll probabably be doing some sanding on the lids, so if you order makeup it may be a waste if you just have to get those roughies off anyway.

    5. have you looked at the links to posts made by people who have actually received these dolls? they're very happy with the product, and had no problem applying makeup. i'm not sure why DollZone is showing an unfinished product on its boards, but they evidently are not shipping it.

    6. i sound a little harsh there, sorry. i have a headache, and should be going to bed now... bye....

    7. I think if people have decided that they don't like these dolls and don't want to buy them, then they should lay off. Everyone in this thread has been informed off the "problems" this brand had before, so no one is in the dark. Whether someone buys them or not is their decision. If you don't want to buy one, then rest assured the rest of us know what we're getting into. I mean this in the nicest way possible, of course, cuz I don't want to start a "thing" with this.

Anyway! I'm going to be ordering as soon as they become available. I'm really excited. That boy is just so perfect for my character. I've been looking for so long~ I'm fully, 100% decided.

    8. It is so hard to find that right doll. They are sooo expensive and we love them so much it's worth it, but tell that to the people who only have a few dolls because of the price. I agree with Illves' rocky start comment. If I get this first doll and everything goes okay, I can gurantee I will be buying another one.

    9. This hobby really isn't about quantity, no one is looked down on for only owning one or two dolls, just because others own 10 or more.

    10. :sweat Oh.... I didn't mean it that way. I meant that when you have one doll you hunger for more, but price is an issue, if you don't have a lot of money. I love the SD's but I can get 2 MSD's for the price of one SD, so that's what I'm collecting. Now with DollZone I can get 2 of their MSD sized dolls for the price of one? I'm there. If there are other considerations, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. It wouldn't be an issue if I didn't like them. I'm sorry if you took offense to my comment. I love them, I want more of them, and this really is deal for me. I can't believe that there aren't others who just have one or two or even more who wouldn't want more if given the right oppurtunity.

    11. I do want more, and I already have two SD13 boys, and my next doll will either be another SD13 boy or a SD girl. Not easy for me either, I sell things that I don't absolutely *need* and I sit and save. Just keep in mind that you get what you pay for.

    12. Fe, can you just let people do what they want to do and quit trying to play God for once? -_-

    13. I absolutely agree with you. people should buy the dolls they want, end of.

but I'm afraid people, especially new, browsing a thread like this won't know what Dollzone has done/is doing. How can we be sure eveyrone knows? I really don't we can be certain of that. some people don't research before buying dolls, when they need to...

I want people to research before buying ANY doll, so that they make an informed choice. I also don't want peoples dolls chosen for them, so I hold back on what I say.

people need information before buying, not mind control.

    14. how very touching. however, i think it is clear that whatever DollZone has done in the past, they are not doing it anymore. did you read ravendolls' review of her DZ Yi? http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47472&highlight=Dollzone i suppose now you're going to argue that they copied body molds while somehow making the body taller and skinnier. and regarding the faces, they seem very unique to me.

    15. Nothing. What's wrong is taking the pictures from it and reposting them here without the owner's permission, something that is frowned upon in the BJD community. Some members of DoA no longer post their pictures outside of LJ/their own websites because of this and it's the reason that areas such as Gallery and Marketplace were made member's only. ^^

And Nina is one of the copied CP moulds. Yes, DZ no longer makes them, but the ones that were made are still around. I am happy that they have seen their original error, and have gone legitimate, and I think the dolls they are producing now are original and lovely. But I think there is also nothing wrong with posting some info on their history for people who don't know. And since you don't even recognize the name of the stolen mould, I'd say you have NOT done thorough research. For the record, the copied, and now discontinued dolls were named Demi, Nina, Lynn, and Nicole.

    16. there was no need to be rude to me.

just because you believe that the dolls are unique does not make it so. just because I believe they are other dolls heavily sanded, does not make it true either.

You seem to think your opinion is more valid than mine. everyone has a right to their opinion. but please don't be rude to me.

I don't understand where your hostility comes from.

    17. I totally agree. People should get an informed choice about anything in life. You were kind enough to post the negatives, and some others have been nice enough to post some positives. So that should be the end of it. No one now will go into this decisions uninformed, will they? (Unless they choose not to read the information, and then, isn't that their choice also?)

Like my first doll, I wouldn't care what these cost. It's not about the cost, it's about being the right doll. I was just "lucky" that the dolls I wanted happened to be "cheaper" than say, an SD, or a Volks MSD. I didn't choose them because of that, though. Heck, when I saw my first boy I didn't even know how much he was, or where to get him from. I took a ballpark figure of 700 dollars and withdrew the money the next week. It was just lucky he was less expensive than that. So, it seems I've been lucky again. That's the end of it though.

For whatever reason people buy any dolls, that reason should be their own. Who are we to dictate which are right and which are wrong? DoA is here to best represent this hobby, isn't it? To give people information and help. As I can see, we've done that in this thread. So there doesn't need to be any more bashing of anyone, their dolls, their choices - anything. Just let people do what they want to do - no one needs to be a crusader (not you in particular babytarragon, mind you, it just happens my post started out quoting you).

And ermm...that got long. But that's my point. I think it's nice people on DoA want to help fellow members, and people have been informed with the best knowledge available, but that's as far as it needs to go.

    18. i'm sorry i came off as being rude; that was not my intention. i suppose i'm a bit frustrated with this long-standing disagreement regarding DZ. the people who think they aren't legit post their opinions; then the people who think they are legit post their opinions; then we all go through it again. once more 'round the merry-go-round. i think posting once on it ought to be enough, on the assumption that people do read the entire thread... and you and i have had our say. the members of DZ aren't stupid. they can make up their own minds.

    19. People can choose to ignore warnings or insist that they are not necessary. There were not enough warnings about Forever Doll when they first came out, and many unsuspecting owners bought them and were sorely disappointed and out a bit of money. I would hope none of us want a repeat of that situation.

    20. I think some ppl should remember: you are not the parents of the other members, there is no need to lecture. they can make up thier minds.

I am also of the belief that if DZ did copy CP molds, that's between them and none of our business. if you belive DZ did, then don't buy a DZ doll, simple as that. don't lecture others about it though, there's better things to worry about.

    21. So you are saying that we should not speak out against something that is being done illegally, and should just sit back and accept it just because we are not directly involved? :shudder

    22. it certainly doesn't look as if DZ is still copying anyone's dolls.

    23. We'll see about that when these new ones are shipped out....

    24. if no one is in danger of being physically injured, and if the other company already knows about it, yes. it's none of our business and I doubt we'll be able to do much to affect it after they know about it.

    25. *sigh* yes, let's just leave it at that, shall we?

    26. For the record, the copied, and now discontinued dolls were named Demi, Nina, Lynn, and Nicole.[/QUOTE]

I saw a Demi up for sale on ebay by Dollzone. Was it proven that it was copied from CP? If so how can it be there?

**I think there have been a lot of hurt feelings on this thread, but I honestly think everyone has the best intentions. I think the first person who posted a warning on this site with links to the issues, babytarragon on page two, did it the best and very eloquintly (spelling?)

    27. Demi and Nina were never discontinued; Lynn and Nicole were. i think it was Lynn who very much appeared to be a copy of CP Woori. as for Nicole, she had giant hideous eyeballs :aeyepop: i have never heard anything official about Demi and Nina being copies of anything.

    28. I think that an appropriate way of dealing with these issues in future (so that there aren't three pages of argument every time DZ has a release) is for ONE person to post links to the issues of controversy, and then drop it.

It really isn't fair to the company or to people interested in their dolls to have to go through this EVERY TIME -- there should be one post to let newbies know that there have been issues in the past, and no more back-and-forth discussion.

The new molds are interesting and original, I look forward to seeing owner pics and reviews :>

      -- Andi

    29. I have looked and looked at my Nina and for the life of me, I can't figure out who she is a copy of. I posted a picture of her a page or two back, please enlighten me.

    30. yes. PLEASE. if i'm ramming my head into a wall by buying DZ, kindly just let me do it, 'kay?

    31. I'm with you 100%. When I bought my ForeverDoll, it was my own failure to do enough research before buying that landed me with an illegal, cheaply made copy. If I had heard of the issues with FD before, I'd have decided against purchasing him.

With that in mind, I've decided against purchasing from DZ, because it has been proven that they copied in the past. They may be legit now, and if they are then good for them! But copying was a bad business move on their part, and I want none of their product.

I agree with this statement as well. Any future buyers that have actually read this thread have now been warned, and can form their own opinions based on the information they have been given.

That would be nice, wouldn't it? Discussion is always nice, too, but you're right that there has been SO much of it already.

    32. I was just trying to point out the pictures I saw. I wasn't saying it was inferior, don't buy it, whatever, just saying if they send it like that with makeup you'd just have to sand it anyway. There is NO reason to be rude to me Bugland. :(

    33. i went back and read my message and don't see quite where i was being rude, but i apologise anyway. my temper is apparently a little raw.

    34. Maybe I'm just a bitch, but that's THEIR fault. If someone doesn't want to put effort into researching, then I don't feel one bit sorry for them when/if they get ripped off.

I think there needs to be a sticky of problem companies that lists the company, any major past problems they've had and if the problems are resolved/being taken care of. Then people can't just say "I didn't know! *whine*"

Pretty much all we can do is provide the information. If people don't take it into consideration when buying their dolls, it's their fault and not anyone else's business.

    35. excellent idea. then everybody knows what's happened, or what's happening, and we don't have to go over it again and again and again.

    36. Some of us have gotten the newer Dollzone dolls. There have been threads posted about them; I don't know if you've read them. I myself have a Xi, and he's a very well made, adorable doll. And as far as I can tell, he isn't a copy of any other mold I've ever seen. He arrived with every seam sanded, and his resin is lovely. He's just as nice as all of my other dolls.

If you have a problem with Dollzone, then you don't have to buy a doll from them. You don't have to like it if other people buy them. But you really don't need to continue posting hostile remarks about the company and their dolls. Your point has been made.

    37. FYI: Those are clothes by HEISE. And last I heard from Amelia_aa, HEISE has *not* given Dollzone permission to use her clothing designs.

    38. Uh ohhhhs... >: That's not good! Hopefully they'll get original designs for themselves, or just send undies.

    39. or maybe they are planning to ask for permission. As their message says the decision is a plan and is not definite. They were even asking for an opinion.

    40. Oh, I didn't know that. ^-^ Whichever, I just want to make sure everything goes well for them since they're trying to make a good name for themselves. So long as they don't step on the toes of any makers/designers...

    41. Considering the whole to-do with this company supposedly copying another one, it doesn't surprise me that they'd go ahead and use Heise's designs without asking first. But hopefully they've turned around since the last time they were of hot discussion, and have been planning to get permission from Heise...

    42. Is Amelia on DOA? I'd love to hear her take on this issue. Does she have a site so I can see for myself? Personally, I won't be purchasing the clothes anyways, so as long as the dolls are original... I don't think they have laws protecting foreign copyrights in Korea, do they? Does anybody know? I really want to support a budding company trying to go legit, but not if they aren't coming up with there own designs. Please post links to Amelia's web site or her pictures of these designs.

    43. Uhh, actually, Amelia's been selling the outfits on DOA since January:

The sales page for the clothes.

    44. they're probably testing the outfits on the market before making a deal with the artist, which is pretty dumb. somebody should talk to Amelia about it.

    45. Heise's designs are nice, and yes they've been sold since January.. I don't think that Amelia selling them has much to do with DollZone, though. Amelia's done a lot of foreign designer clothes-selling and such.

I don't see why Heise would need to test her market, so much as make money from international orders since she's pretty well known in her country, apparently.. ^^;; I don't understand what you're trying to get at.

If DollZone is reproducing her designs without her permission, that's rude. They shouldn't do it.

If they're trying to get permission, they still shouldn't copy designs in the meanwhile. It's not a good way to get someone to agree to letting you use their designs.

    46. i don't think Heise is testing her market; i think DollZone is testing theirs. of course we could all be wrong and they already have Amelia's permission. but if they're testing her designs on their market without checking with her, they're idiots. that's what i was trying to say.

    47. I PM'd Amelia for some feedback, with a link to this thread. Maybe she'll be able to let us know what's going on.

    48. i see she's on the boards now... i'm very anxious to find out what's happening regarding DollZone using her clothes... i really hope it's legit :eusa_pray

    49. Got an answer from Amelia, wait till you read it!!!

      Hi, Dear,
Thanks so much for letting me know about this. HEISEJINYAO and her families are close friend of mine, they let me help them sell their outfits internationally. The pics you showed me is our photos, the boy is HEISEJINYAO's DZ boy, and the outfits are handmade by HEISE's mum. We do have standard international sale price and I am the only one who has the authority to sell these outfits internationally. These days, HEISE's families are doing some image design for DZ's new dolls. But no one can sell the doll's outfits internationally except me. I call HEISE's mum auntie! And my father is their families lawyer! What the seller tell you and do is so rude to HEISE's family and my family. We don't know this before and have never heard about and not
recieved any application for selling our outfits.

By the way, I am so angry about the one who post the news about "Beautiful Doll Zone dolls!!~" As far as I know, what he/she do is a immoral conduct. He/she said he/she can provide reasonable price to us. However, DZ do have their international dealer and national dealer. No one can exceed their authority to change the standard sale price. I know both the international dealer and the national dealer, they are my friend, too. But I don't know who post the thread. My friends are complained about these to DZ company these days. DZ company's top manager also feel so disappointed with this situation. The one who post the thread with such information is making troubles to all of us and I think he/she is so greedy and want to earn the money without ethics!
Please do understand my situation. I know all the parties except the one who post such threads! I feel so angry about this situation. Of course, we will try our best to solve the unexpected matter.

Thanks again for letting me know all of this.
      Best Regards,
      Yours,
      Amelia

    50. I have reported this thread as a bad thread just now.

I know both the national dealer and the international dealer of DZ, they are my friends, but I don't know who post this thread with such information.

As far as I know, if one is the dealer of DZ, he/she cannot change the sale price without permission!! DZ do have their national sale price and international sale price. No one can break the rules and exceed their authority to sell products. DZ and the dealears do sign the formal contracts.

The one who post such thread is obviously too greedy and without authorities and responsibilities!!!

Just let you guys know this background. Although maybe you guys can get a doll with low price due to the price difference between national sale price and the international sale price, but you do help a unmoral people make a lot of money.

Thanks for letting me know this, my friends. Hope I do explain the situation clearly.

    51. OK, so DZ is fine and they're not ripping Amelia off, evidently it's just the person made the post who's fooling around... what a load off my mind. i'm so glad DZ is in the clear here, especially since i've already bought from them :sweat

    52. thank you, Amelia! it is a big relief to us to know what's going on! i'm glad you are friends with DZ and you are all working together. :sumomo:

not so happy with the person who started this thread :ablah: thank you for reporting them.

    53. Hi,dear~~
DZ is OK to sell EISEJINYAO's outfits nationally, but the dealers can not sell HEISE's outfits internationally because I have the direct relationship with HEISE's families. As what I explained, I called HEISE's mum auntie and my families do help them in other fields. HEISEJINYAO's families and I work so hard to open the international market, if anyone buys the outfits from me will know how hard I work! Thanks so much for letting me know this and thanks for your understanding.

    54. ah. okay. Well $200 is less than most dolls anyway...

    55. Just adding a little more information I found out. I emailed Liria asking if CP was doing anything about Doll Zone's previous copyright infringement and this is the response I got:

Thank you for your email. We really appreciate that. I was talking to CP over MSN when I was reading your email. CP did seem to know about Doll Zone and they told me that they are trying to find out more about them via their Chinese contacts. This is what they said about Doll Zone.

Doll Zone uses polystone not resin. It's thought that polystone is heavy material with stone particles so please ask the international owners to be aware of them. Polystone is around 1/10 price of the resin we use.
Please let us know if you find out more about this company, we would greatly appreciate that.

I just thought people should be aware. Judge for yourself.

    56. that's odd. the people who've already got their dolls haven't noticed anything strange about them; in the case of the white dolls they found the appearance and texture particularly pleasing. what do they mean by "heavier?" no one commented on the dolls being "heavy", either.

if they do use polystone and it is so cheap, that might explain why their prices are so low :)

    57. Well from what I've researched, polystone does seem to still have a pleasing quality. I really know very little about it though. It is, however, a much cheaper material than the resin that most companies use.

And yes it would explain the lower prices, but if their materials really cost 1/10th of the price of CP's their dolls should be even cheaper than they are. From what I've seen the prices are not really that much lower than that of a Kid Delf or DoD.

    58. I have one of the new dolls and it is white resin , and beautiful too
I can see no difference in him and my other white dolls ...and I have more than a few :)
he is also very tough - yup I dropped him ...and knocked him over

      and the colour is expeptional
Raven had one of the old girls , she said she noticed a difference in the quality and resin

so perhaps they used the Polystone in the old dolls , the new dolls are new moulds and better quality by all accounts

I have heard DZ have raised the prices , especially for the tan dolls which will be limmited to 100
glad I bought my boy when I did :)

    59. All that means is that they are possibly arbitrarily raising prices to take advantage of naive customers.
