Okay the wig arrived and I made Alyona her flower crown she'll wear on special occasions, so here she is so far! (Little Snow, on Milky Tea body) Her wig is a little french braid in the back.

Hi all, I ordered back in Feb this year a YinLong Xun in moon white with g/flowing tail I had December as a probable eta, and was wondering if this was realistic or should be looking for a longer wait?

 

My Xun will be shipping tomorrow

ikr moon moon with translucent tail I got my Mr Loong head in Moon White and the resin is absolutely gorgeous, gives an impression of jade. Any face up will be minimal to keep the resin as it currently is (needs to enjoy that new resin appearance as long you can ).

It will be another 11+ days as it was sent by China Post, not the swifter Yanwen. I am curious to see the moon white and glowing resin combo

Ahhhh I messaged BJDivas about my layaway and apparently the doll is officially on the way to them! I hope he arrives in time for the NYC Doll Con! I think this is the longest layaway I've ever done!

 

That's very exciting! I hope he arrives super quick and safely to you. I always think that no matter how long a layaway is, the longest wait is always the shipping.

 

Oh man, I managed to secure an absolute mini-grail right before CNY!
I'm finally getting a 1/6 Little Snow in purple resin, she will ship sometime in the middle of the month after CNY, and I am stoked. I have NOTHING for her, not even a name. Time to figure things out, huh?

Thank you! I’ve been a fan of her since she was released because of her cute little smile and the sweet elf ears! I’m gonna give her some Luts clear resin feather wings, just gotta see about how to place the magnets (whether I can glue them in the inside or if I need to tape them to the outside…)

 

Little update! I just got a shipping notice for her as she'd been in stock with Dollzone!
(I had asked Christina of NCS if it was possible to order dolls other than Blue in the purple resin from DZ, so she asked them for me, and they said no, but had one in stock without a faceup, for an upcharge of course, but I glady paid it)

I am also gonna go to the Epic Doll Fair and will hopefully be able to get her some things if she arrives in time!

 

Oooh that's exciting! I can't wait to see photos of her. Have you thought of a name yet?

 

She's amazingly already in my country, so I am hoping she arrives this coming week! I'm currently entertaining the name "Faye" because I want her to be a little fae like critter. I'm hoping I can fit the strong magnets into her upper torso so I won't need to put them on the outside for her Luts wings I got!

 

Oh that's a pretty name Fingers crossed you can get the magnets into her torso!

 

Faye arrived with a plethora of undisclosed issues (like being on a boy body and with severe uneven yellowing), but I worked out a partial refund so I can begin the customization process.


This pic was taken under warm-white lighting in the evening. The head is almost grey from the red pigment being faded. I also filed off the boy bits so I can finally start making her into what I want. I’m also hoping I can blush her more purple.

I couldn’t get the magnets to hold through the resin, so I attached them with painters tape to her back. She can stand with them, but it’s not easy because of how the feet are sculpted. She doesn’t like standing without wings even (wants to fall back), but it’s okay. I need to check if I got shoes for her…

Thank you! I'm slowly painting her alongside a few other things, but I am not too sure yet what look I want for her. But I am bonding with her slowly (I already modded her into a girl, so no more boy bits to see!)

 

What a bummer about the issues, but hey, she's still super cute!! I'm sure you'll turn her into the perfect little fae.

 

I got her faceup finished, and put her back on her body! Nothing is permanent yet, but I'm slowly enjoying her

I was really hoping to have my dollzone po in for the NY BJD con but despite having been supposedly shipping to the dealer in January, he was still in transit in early feb and I haven't heard any update since. Like, I'll have enough on my hands to deal with but since he was a full-set it was going to be nice to have a fully ready doll. My current crew is largely all in process of something which is a bit of a bummer lol

Thank you! And I didn’t, they came blushed from the company (Luts), I got them secondhand and knew they’d be perfect for a future doll

Finally got a proper wig for Faye, and eyes, but I haven’t taken a pic of her with her new eyes yet…

thank you! I got it in a last minute leekeworld order, where I ordered like 5 wigs. 4 have found a home on dolls (of which one is going to a friend’s preordered Little Snow), and the last wig I’m holding onto just in case!

Thank you so much! I'm so glad I was able to get this set of wings secondhand as well as originally I only wanted the white set for one of my wife's dolls. Originally I wanted Faye to have fairy wings, but I have none, and she looks great with these so angelic she is (but a mischievous one)

 

For Doll Zone's 20th anniversary event it was announced that the company is discontinuing some of their dolls and doll bodies! I had sent an email to Erica at Legend Doll asking for specifics on which dolls and bodies and received a generic answer ("refer to the announcement page") this morning. There is a picture on the anniversary promotion page (link here) that shows several dolls under the discontinuation portion "activity 6" at the bottom of the page. A direct link to the image is here. Clicking the picture on Legend Doll links to a selection of the dolls being discontinued (link here).

It looks like Little Snow and Milky Tea are among the dolls being discontinued. Perhaps it means their bodies too? For reference the bodies for Little Snow and Milky Tea are:

1. B27 - 004 (Little Snow)
2. B27 - 010 (Milky Tea)

I wish the information was more specific! I think I will try asking Doll Zone directly. Earlier this month I was able to purchase a Little Rain secondhand and having a Little Snow to accompany him was on my "eventually" wishlist. This recent announcement was disheartening since I think both the dolls and their bodies are quite lovely. (Although to be fair I think Little Snow is an older sculpt?)

 

Yeah, I saw the announcement too with Little Snow's picture in the to be discontinued list. She was released during winter 2017, so she's been around a while. Still sad to see her go as well. I really love the B27-004 body, my Daomiao is on it. My Little Snow is on the B27-005 body, but I modded it to be a girl body. If I could change the body I would, but she's purple and I don't trust my dyeing skills yet to match it.

I know there's a 1/4 scale version of Little Snow, but I don't want to expand my 1/4 collection so it's sad to see the 1/6 version go. I love seeing owner pics of dolls I own too but styled by different collectors.


Adding an update on Faye, I repainted her and got her a new outfit and eyes as well.

 

Your Faye is absolutely lovely! I remember seeing your pictures way before I able to post here. I had a look at your post on flickr and I have to say even though her purple hue has faded, the color is still very pleasing to the eye. I love seeing fantasy colors! She is truly unique.

 

Thank you so much! She's a lovely doll at last, though I do intend to dip her in dye the next time I decide to repaint her, just to brighten her purple again. She's definitely unique as she's on the already discontinued B27-005 body, I just modded the boy bits off.

 

Wondering if DZ's 35cm dolls might fit into this thread too? I don't think I saw something for 30cm+ and they have so few dolls falling into that category.

I just found a fullset Thilo for an incredible price and am so excited to bring him home!

 

Thilo arrived home on Monday! I absolutely adore him, and am so glad I found him (for only $85 for the fullset too!)
Dollzone has now discontinued their 35cm range which I'm very sad about. It's a really lovely size that pairs well with other tinies for some variation in ages.

Apologies for the terrible lighting. I haven't had a chance to photograph him in daylight, but he has the loveliest faceup with holographic freckles and some face painting. He has a very different and gentler vibe from the default photos, which I adore.

I also bought a DZ Yaoyao head as well that I plan on putting on their 1/5 snake body. Both she and Thilo were so hard to find owner photos of - I don't think they're very popular amongst English speaking collectors sadly
