Dollzone Baby BB 23cm - 29.5cm discussion part 3

I need a little help here. I ordered an Antu a while ago, got her a couple of months ago, and... I'm stumped by her horn. There doesn't seem to be a magnet in her forehead to stick it to (or even a space for it inside her head). Other Antu owners help me out, how do I get it in the right place? I've only been able to get it to stick at the top of her head where her headcap magnet is, as this silly photo shows!

 

This is the tutorial my friend followed:

She said the main thing was to: its import that you encluse the UV lights under a cloth or under a box to generate heat too and makes the uv more potent. You have to clean the resin first though if it has uv cut sealant it wont work.

I'll be testing it out after I get my girl home. She is so old I don't think she had any sort of UV sealants on her.

Of course! She just arrived home today but she smells of basement so she's sitting with some dryer sheets for a week before I try to lighten her.

 

My Mann has the same issue, apparently DZ recommends attaching the horn with putty to the forehead... Makes me wonder why they bothered to put a magnet in at all. My Mann can't even wear her horn like that because the polarity is opposite to the headcap magnet...

 

You could also try gluing or sticky-tacking a magnet to the inside of her head at the desired angle @vicemage

 

I guess I'll do some putty then, or tacky-glue a magnet to her forehead. What an odd decision to make. (She's still cute though, it doesn't ruin her for me by any means!)

I considered that, but there's way too much resin at that part of her head for the magnet to ever hold. I could put the strongest magnet available in there, and it still wouldn't grab, it's so thick!

 

Well dang.

 

@vicemage - if your wig has a lower hairline or a fringe you might be able to do the magnet sandwich through the wig? still maybe not optimal though

 

What's the difference between dollzone pink skin and peach skin?

I am waiting there new 1/5 bjd and l can not make my mind up on skin color.

 

Dollzone peach is mostly white with faint peach tones while pink is a deeper, more typical skin tone.

Like @InnocentSin said, Dollzone peach is very light and almost white. My normal pink body is currently packed away so I can’t take a comparison photo, but I ordered a Qing Wind in peach and was surprised just how light the peach resin is!

New question from me I was poking through DZ 1/6 listings and found Happy, she's just so precious! I know that she wasn't released all that long ago, but did anyone order her/does anyone have her? With that name, she's really tough to search for...

 

I ordered her when she first came out! I was totally mesmerized by how cute she was…very adorable and unique…and a character sprang to mind immediately, so I quickly put her on a layaway with BJDivas. Being so new, she still hasn’t arrived to them yet of course, so I can’t help with owner pics. But I will certainly post some once I’ve paid her off and she arrives. In addition to being so cute, I felt she was a really great value too, so I ordered her as a fullset.

 

I was really tempted by her outfit... I decided against it, but at the same time, BJDivas hasn't fully processed my order yet and I might still cave on ordering it. I remember thinking she was super cute when I first saw her released too (though I couldn't remember when that was until I did a little extra looking), but didn't go for it at the time. It's just as well, because I loved how cute Biubiu is too and I was able to order both of them!

 

I have per order the new dollzone 1/5 in there purple skin color.

 

My Happy arrived recently! I had some different plans for her initially, but this wig I picked up on a whim ended up also being the only one that fit her (her head is HUGE), and I kind of love it on her so I've got a new plan in mind now.

And DollZone is really adverse to putting in magnets for extra parts... first the horn on Antu, now the tail on Happy... Just drill holes for the magnets, DollZone.

Help please, I can't find my notes- Can someone give me any measurements for Pink Bear/Black Cat, wig size, eye size, anything about clothing measurements or what fits? I had it saved but it's been taken down.

Not always, but I often do it to be sure I'm buying eyes and wigs that will fit.

 

That's a very smart thing to do honestly. I should do something similar for all my dolls given how much they all vary. Eyes and wigs can be a nightmare...and pants and shoes are even worse!

 

annnd six months later my Pink Bear arrived! She was like a Christmas present, so she's claimed the name Noelle.

I knew when I saw her that she HAD to have a spacebun wig, so I used the Mozekyto method from the youtube channel by that name and it actually came out okay!

In honor of Dollzone having rereleased Dollzone Po for the year of dragon, I wanted to share mine!


I recently gave her a whole overhaul, by sewing her a new wig (which I’d wanted to do since getting her secondhand last year for my birthday) and repainting her to suit her new wig. The part is a bit messy on the wig, but for my first one ever like this I am happy with it. It suits her perfectly

I think I finally bonded with her properly. The first Faceup I put on her I despised for so many reasons. Only took me 3/4 of a year to repaint her I suppose…

I'm super excited because I had wanted yin long so badly but wasn't able to get one then. I just ordered the 18th anniversary version and managed to get the china exclusive transparent tail as well! I love their little feets and wings so much!

I was finally making some more clothes for my Ami and Ani twins last week. I love them, they are so cute together. I also finally gave them names: Jamie (dark hair) and Beetle (light hair)

Yes @Rabbit-moon Ami has had eyes opened (and honestly thank you for reminding me which one she is because my brain is slowly turning to mush). I can't remember if it was the person who gifted her to me who did that or if it was before them but yeah I enjoy how similar/different the two look this way. And these old sculpts are just so cute. I really like old Dollzone faces

oooh what variations did you get for her? (like fullset? body blushing/faceup? which color tail/skin? etc) I am so excited to see everyone else's dragons when they come in!

 

I really wish I got the fullset haha but it was too much for my budget right now, plus she will arrive earlier so that’s nice haha

I got the half eye Po face in moon skin and I plan to blush her myself with very subtle aquamarine highlights. She will have grey hair with aquamarine tips, natural faceup with scales near the horns and on the cheeks, and she will be wearing an elaborate kimono - I’m going to try to make her more like a Japanese youkai to go along with some other dolls I have

I think my new Dollzone girl fits in here too- She's a Little Snow, on the Milky Tea 1/6 body. Still working on her name but I got inspired to make her a full fancy outfit. Her name might be Alyona.
