Dollzone Baby BB 23cm - 29.5cm discussion part 3

@Onigirikiri for my DZ dolls on the old b-27 body, which looks similar to your mini kitty body, I found that the Kish 12” doll, doll shoes fit and were more ‘in scale’. I have four of these size dolls and finding shoes has been difficult.

 

@Onigirikiri maybe I can help! Iirc, miss kitty is on the b27-002 body more or less. It has bitty 3.5cm feet! I purchased 2 pairs of shoes from jujus5gkids on ebay in 37mm-38mm size and they fit her perfectly. I'll get photos in a bit, but here's the link. Just search for 37mm or 38mm! I bought the lace up boots and the scalloped slip-ons.

These dolls have such cute little pear-shaped bodies! But my goodness they're a bit difficult to shop for lol.

 

@Onigirikiri your girl is adorable, and I hope you find shoes that fit her foot and her style!

 

Couple questions for those of you with DZ experience. The peach skin, how far off would you say it is from a paper white? Like is it fairly close to white just with warmer tones than the usual yellow tones in DZ white skin, or would you consider it more to be a lighter version of their normal pink?

Also, since the waitlist thread seems to be currently locked, anyone know how the average wait times have been lately? Seeing a range on the waitlist and trying to get a feel for what the most realistic expectation should be.

 

DZ/DC peach is really similar to IOS "new" white, Switch rosy white and Dollshe/5th Motif/Dollstown Fresh. it definitely has pink tone not yellow, and it is not ivory/creme or paper white. it has a really cool shimmer in some light. i was surprised how much i wound up really liking it, and how versatile it is for my collection to share bodies.

not sure about wait times right now, but in 2020 my Apsara took 8 months and my Dragon PO took 4.5 months to ship. both were blank, no face up or full set. i think DC and DZ cast together, and my WS Enoch's head + small accessories came in 4mos (June2021), and his mismatched (on purpose) -08 peach body in 6mos (Aug2021). but have seen certain sculpts can be weirdly fast and others very slow.

Though Po is technically a 1/6 tiny, he was delivered so quickly to most, i think he's not a good example of the typical timing

DZ waiting thread is closed for almost a month now , so I decided to share my happiness here.
I ordered 28cm Halo head and B27-004 body 05.22.2021 and my order was suddenly shipped 09.10.2021! Still can't believe DZ made it so fast! My girl is on her way home for 19 days now.
EMS shipping to Russia is kinda slow (expected time is 15-30 days).

Okaaaay, I got the doll after 42 days of shipping... And I'm disappointed completely.
Her head size isn't 17 cm (6-7"), it's 21,5 cm (8-9"). There was wrong info on dealer's site. I think it can be DZ's mistake, cause I asked another dealer about this doll eye size and the answer was "14 mm anime style eyes" (this head's eyes should be 18 mm or even bigger for real).
I wrote dealer about the situation of course. Will wait for answer...

I as right, it's DZs mistake. They gave their dealers wrong info about head size. Christina (Clover Singing) apologiesed for this and offered refund or replacement.

So I decided to take Black Cat head. And to buy B27-005 boy body. That'll be completely another doll. Waiting again!
Boy body's hips are thinner and I like it more. Maybe I'll modify boy's body into girl's, cause my character is a girl.

 

Ah that's so annoying! Hopefully you don't have to wait too long.

I feel bad for Christina, too. I have been a customer of hers for literally years. I bought my first Dollzone doll from her on Ebay in 2006, when she was known as Jeeryama. She is such a sweetheart, and provides such great customer service. I know she will do everything she can to rectify this situation.

Hope you get the doll you want soon.

 

@Kameo-Margo ah thats such a bummer about the wrong info!

I got Strayer knowing she had a huge head because I hoped she would fit in with my MSD's, but I agree the proportions are a little weird. She is wearing Blythe sized clothes here.

Quiet and Insane, This! This makes me so sad! Deleting all those pictures of their original dolls, it's as if all those older sculpts never existed. That's so cruel!

At least Luts has a page devoted to their older/classic sculpts. And 5Star has a memory page to their discontinued sculpts. I wish all doll companies did that. Doll collectors love knowing the history of their favorite doll company.

Excuse me, does anyone have 1/6 anime head (Miyou, Keai, Black Cat, Pink Bear) and 1/4 B45-013, B45-014 or B45-015 boy body at the same time?
I'm thinking of 1/4 anime boy in the future and can't imagine proportions. Most of 1/6 and 1/4 heads are of the same (or similar) size but 1/6 neck is thiner and shorter...
Asking for help!

Quiet and Insane, I just noticed that Dollzone had another Discontinuation Event at the beginning of Nov 2021.

I didn't know this happened, but it looks like a lot of dolls got the axe on 30 Nov! Whenever that happens Dollzone generally deletes their pictures immediately. (More dolls consigned to oblivion. *sob*)

 

I really, really wish they wouldn't do that
It makes authentication so hard for older sculpts! You would be hard pressed to find images of the original Sun and Moon sculpts, the little dragons, for example.

Oh! I totally agree! Authentication is almost impossible with their older dolls. My first Dollzone dolls, back in 2006, I don't believe even came with COAs. Luckily, I got them from Junky Spot, and Christina from DollsSinging, so I know they are legit. Also, because I know Dollzone is forever discontinuing and deleting their dolls from their website, I try to download all the photos I can of the dolls I buy from them, just for my own records.

Yes, I believe that group photo contains the pictures of all the discontinued dolls, but their announcement is not clear.

Sorry you missed out on the Alpaca pet. He was a cutie. (Maybe the secondary market?)

 

Sometimes you can find the old listings on dealers sites. Like Oobie doll and BJDivas have a few discontinued and even their limited section have some. I saw DC put back up some of their older listings on their site, maybe we will get lucky and DZ will as well

 

I was able to find and bookmark cached versions of their old site with the original photos, with the intent to not just download the images to keep a digital record, but print the whole webpage in situ for my physical doll folder. However I currently lack a printer and I don't think my local Officeworks would be too keen on printing webpages for me.

 

Grimalkin, that would be great if Dollzone did the same and put back up some pictures of their discontinued dolls! We can always hope.

Hello everyone. I have a question regarding my Dollzone Pink Bear.
I bougt her last year via Denver Doll Emporium and I'm uncertain if she came with a certificate. All I have is a card with her picture on it and on the back it has room for the doll's nickname and birthday. Is this the certificate? There's is no handwritten serial number or anything and it doesn't say "certificate" so I'm really not sure here.

Congrats! I have a 1/6 Halo and due to her small upper torso she fits into blythe tops and dresses. Obviously pants won't work though.

Hey, I don't know if you still wanted info - yeah, 1/4 body and 1/6 head is a bad idea, but they do have the 1/4 anime heads now (40 cm dolls) that might work with the 1/4 bodies. However, I have Black Cat on a 1/6 boy body and he looks great. His proportions aren't extremely kiddish.

I bought Black Cat on 1/6 boy body too, they are adorably cute! (the character is nonbinary eastern dragon looking like a girl).
I also have 1/4 boy body now (for another doll), so I know 1/6 heads doesn't fit.

Quick question, I hope I am asking in the right place!
I am looking to purchase a face-up of Little Snow from DZ without clothes. However, her proportions are making it a bit dificult to narrow down a wardrobe for her. How have you guys dressed the DZ 29cm Girl Body (B27-004)?

 

I have dressed mine (Daomiao) in YoSD clothing from Dollmore, though mine is in overalls (which are too short) and a t-shirt (a little wide), but I want her to look like a kid so I don't mind. My other DZ girl on that body (Mann) in an outfit by Glamouria Doll Clothes (can be found on Insta under glamouriadollclothes) which is made for that specific body. Let me show a picture or two!

Finding fitting shoes has been a huge challenge, so I finally gave up and put regular YoSD sneakers on my Daomiao for a cute oversized look

Wow! AlmySidaKay, do oxy baths really work? I usually don't stress too much about my dolls yellowing. But, then I don't have a doll that's turned a shade of banana yellow yet. That might make me reconsider.

It was mostly a joke, tho I did do an oxy bath and it did help a little. But she is still very, very yellow just due to age. Although a friend recently told me about a new UV soak method for deyellowing that they adapted from other plastic restoration methods.

 

AlmySidaKay, oh please share the method when you get it. I'd be curious to see if it works. Thanks a bunch!
