Resin Comparison Dollzone and Island Doll island or normal yellow or pink

    1. I'm looking to make a ns hybrid with an Island doll head and a Dollzone body, but I really need to see some comparison photos to see whether the resin match would work.

      It's complicated by the fact that both companies have a "normal pink" and a "normal yellow" - either colour would work for my character if there's one where the resin match is better. Or if neither will work, better to know now than after I buy the parts.

      Any photos comparing the resins would be very much appreciated, they don't need to be of actual hybrids - the only comparisons I could find were quite old and posted before Island doll split their normal resin into two categories. Thanks!

    2. Bump in case anyone can help.

      It occurs to me that island skin with dollzone pink might be the best match - island pink looks very pink indeed in the company photos - but that's not based on photos taken together.

      At this stage, even photos of the 3 different island skin tones together or of any ns/island skin Island Doll with any other maker's ns doll would help a bit.

    6. I hope i can help you a bit.
      I have an Island Body in normal and an Dollzone Body in NS pink. I ordered the Dollzone body short before they changed there colors abit. So i'm not sure if i got the old or the new color.
      The Island normal is more yellow indeed.

    7. This is Island Skin next to DZ pink skin. The Dollzone hands are from earlier this year. It is my understanding that they've changed their resin a bit since then so I'm not sure if this will remain accurate information. The Island doll headcap is also from this year.

    8. I wouldn't advise a hybrid using dollzone as their resin colour changes from batch to batch - or it used to anyway. You have something like a 7 month wait for dollzone too, so it's likely they will change the resin tone slightly in that time. I ordered both head and body from dollzone a couple of years ago, seperately, both in 'pink' and they didn't match, although the pink tone in the faceup made the head look fine with the body. Their tan - don't even go there (see my Jeremy on flickr) unless they have really changed up their dye process since then.

      If you look at my flickr I had island hejin in their 'island' skin tone and it is NOTHING like pink at all - more of a beige/biscuit colour - quite nice but I would have preferred a pinker tone. It won't match dollzone pink or yellow. Impldoll and mirodoll both do resin matching services though if you send them the headcap they can make a body to match it :)

    9. Thank you both! Blithefool's photo looks like a pretty good match, but that's obviously not something I could rely on for the future.
