20–39cm Dolls Dollzone 1/6 Little Snow :: A Disappointing Arrival

Feb 18, 2025

    1. So, I’ve been wanting a Dollzone Little Snow in 1/6 scale since she was released years ago, but I kept passing her over until I decided I wanted one in purple.

The last purple event I didn’t have the funds to order one, so when I noticed that the new Dollzone Blue doll came in purple, I reached out to Christina of new clover-singing to see if the purple color could be applied to other dolls. It sadly did not, but she wrote me that DZ had one in stock they’d sell to me. I agreed to a price and after CNY the doll shipped rather quickly!

      Yesterday the package arrived…

The doll box arrived in a literal shoe box, taped shut along the edges, which I already found out. This doll is directly from Dollzone, but I guess they didn’t want to bother with a nice shipping box…

At least they included a company box for the doll.

The box is not in good condition either, but whatever, I can live with that!

I carried on with opening, and found the neatly tied doll pillow

Here is where I noticed the first issues… the head is a different color from the body, not because of casting issues, but because of light exposure fading the red pigment. And the chest piece is definitely not the girl body one… I unpacked the doll quicker after that and my fear was confirmed…

… the head is on a boy body, that is also faded in gradients on his limbs. At this point I am just… so disappointed. I’ve been wanting this doll for literal years, like a mini-grail, only to receive this mess. In parts he almost looks like a warm grey due to the red pigment having faded.

This picture shows the uneven yellowing the best. I did email Christina right away but I am still waiting on a response. I can’t enjoy this doll in any shape or form until I hear back from her, because I’m not sure what can be done.

I’m not confident Dollzone will right this mess up, but I am hoping for at least a partial refund. I paid $270 for this doll directly bought from Dollzone, which is a little higher than new even with special resin colors, so I expected a doll in “like new” condition for “brand new” pricing. Not… this, and on the wrong body too.

I do believe this may be my last Dollzone doll, especially first hand. I already got really burnt by them back in 2016 with my Sawarieda order which they sent completely in the wrong color and refused to fix it. Pity, as once upon a time, Dollzone was my favorite company…

    2. I'm so sorry this happened to you. :atremblin

    3. Thank you, I’m just… stupidly sad about it

    4. Oh dear - what a drama :( Such a sweet face and especially the ears <3
I am so sorry. I hope the matter will turn out well.

    5. OOOh how very very sad! You must feel this sharply, and it's a devastating shame as she could/should have been so amazing :(
I'd ask to/demand to, be allowed return her for a full refund. And then, wait and hope for a new opportunity, I think.

    6. You have every right to be upset! This is awful! I'm so sorry and I hope something can be worked out. No one would be able to sell the doll on the secondhand market in that condition for $270 so I have no idea why they thought this was an acceptable doll to send out for new price. Not even on the body you wanted! It's just all insane. :horror:

    7. Oh no, that's so unfortunate. I'd be fine with having it on the boy body but that uneven resin is such a shambles, it's like they put the doll in partial sunlight so that his little toes got tanned but his face stayed pale. With that much obvious damage, they had a lot of gall to charge you more than a brand new doll!

    8. Such a cute sculpt and fully empathise when things go wrong and nothing happens to correct (had a couple myself last year). I hope Dollzone own up to this one and you get some recourse . I saw from the DZ thread you were so looking forward for your Little Snow :daisy

    9. It's not stupid! You've been waiting for this doll for such a long time and they arrived in such poor condition... You have every right to be upset and sad!

    10. Did you order from DZ's Taobao directly, or go through a proxy? Maybe the proxy mixed up the orders, that's SO disappointing!

    11. Sorry this happened to you.

    12. Ohhh this is so frustrating! Keeping fingers crossed for a hefty reimbursement!

With all the flaws aside, snow is a very cute sculpt and I'm looking forward to see what you make of them!

    13. Oh no there is nothing stupid about being sad about this! The shoe box was already a bad sign but then selling you an (unevenly) faded boy body that they frankenstein-ed with the head is crossing the line :( I really hope Christina can do something about it!

    14. The doll turns out is a 2 year old display model used by Dollzone and it looks like it was exposed to light the whole time (hence the uneven yellowing). Dollzone offered me a 20% refund, and Christina rounded it up to a $70 refund.

I took it so now I can start the process of modifying him into a girl and correcting the colors with blushing and such

    15. The doll look so cute but can understand your feelings of disappointment, sorry this happened to you. Good that you got an explanation and a refund.. but why wait to tell you after you got the doll. I'm so disappointed in doll zone.. :/

    16. Did they really think you wouldn't notice that? What the hell :pout:
I'm glad you're transforming her into what she should've been all along. I'm sure she'll turn out great in the end

    17. That's absolutely disappointing. They should of expressly told you that it was a display model. At least you got some money back.

    18. Thank you everyone for your kind words on this unfortunate event. I have modded off the boy bits and painted her Faceup, correcting the horrible fading with that.

I’m waiting on some wigs for her to try, and I’m hoping to find her some eyes at the Epic Doll Fair. But here’s Faye as she is right now

    19. You made the best of it and your doll looks lovely. But that's just disrespectful on NCS and Dollzone's part.
Have you dealt with DZ directly at any point (like via email) or did you only go through NCS?

    20. I did not, I only communicated through NCS, but I already accepted the $70 refund so I can't do more since I also paid through Christina
