Dolly Bureau: Doll Pattern books. Does anyone have one of these?

Aug 10, 2018

    1. Hiya

The dolls I have are MSD 40 cm size. I also have a 1/8 size doll on order too. I have seen Dolly Bureau: Doll Patterns and Fashion by Megan R Zabel Book 1
      • ISBN-10: 0989384101
      • ISBN-13: 978-0989384100
Just wanted to ask if anyone has this book and if they could let me know how many patterns there are for MSD size dolls in this book? In the description it says there are patterns for various size dolls in the book and although the book looks good, I wasn't cool on the blind date buying, if there is only going to be one design for that size doll and it turns out not to be something I want to make hmmm :(

Please does anyone have this book and would you mind letting me know how many patterns there are in there for MSD 40cm dolls? and what the designs are? If you have this book, what have you made from it?

      Many thanks

      Raven

    2. Thanks, that's a great idea. I was going to look n see if she was on twitter.
I've kinda gone sideways atm and trying to knit Rose a jumper with no pattern :) So far so good. I forgot to rib at the base so its curling a bit.

    3. If you do end up asking the author please post an update in this thread.
I'm having similar feelings about the booklets and any information would be great! :3nodding:

    4. Will do, had some tech issues this week but its on my list.

Not a pattern book but on the 'expensive eye candy' list is
      Enchanted doll by Marina Bychova
      • ISBN-10: 1614040087
      • ISBN-13: 978-1614040088
There is a flip through of the book on amazon if you do a search for the same name. There is also a film about the author and her workshop. I love studio walk rounds don't you. Stampington used to make a magazine called Where Women Create, but really gives you work space envy ;)

How about magazines? Are there any BJD related magazines that are avaialable in the UK?

    5. In the UK I buy BJD magazines and mooks through hlj.com
they are much cheaper than places like ebay or etsy for the magazines, although you don't know what patterns you'll get until you get them, but lots of places have lists of what is in them

    6. thanks I'll have a look :)

They have some pretty sad reviews on Trust pilot. but thanks for the idea x

    7. I've never had any issues from them at all, there was some confusion with MSC because the uk stopped people shipping aerosols internationally, and I've bought a lot from them
Mind you I pay exclusively through PayPal so that might improve it

    8. thanks

There isa You Tuber called Little Amelie or PoppyW and she has doll pattern book for some dolls, its on her website. Not sure on the rules to linking to that. but it was a lovely book, there is an english translated version. 10 patterns in 3 sizes, including my 1/8 doll. so I was happy. She also sells patterns as pdfs on etsy if that helps anyone.
