Dollstown Hue & Mui

Hello carol ~ I am another one who has been anxiously awaiting Hue! I'm going to move this to the Larger Doll Sub Forum, though, as it's not News.

We don't actually *know* yet. XD. Basically, it's just a bunch of cronies (like myself) waiting on the progress pictures and a tentative release date.

I personally estimate that, solely by my own speculation and by judging on how fast he's going (keep in mind that Dollstown might have already finished him, but might not have put pictures up yet, although that's incredibly unlikely) Hue will be here like, what? Originally, three months ago, I was aiming June/July, but now, I'm thinking mid to late September.

That's not even an educated guess though. So mostly, it's just us waiting around watching paint dry, unless someone wants to send Dollstown an inquiry into our rather large, sexy friend?

 

Oh, me too! Especially isnce Dollstown is known for all those wonderful, really posable, REALLY flexible bodies!

God damn you, Hue! Come out of hiding already.

 

I'd love it to be soon, but I definitely figure it won't be until after June is over at the earliest.

I just love his body and I hope the well built (muscular) arms stick around with the finished Hue.

 

I'm sure the arms will stay. Dollstown has osme pretty unique bodies and so far they've seemed keen to keep most of thier original designs. :3.

Besides, I see no reason why the muscle would be lost. It's sexy. :3.

I'm waiting for him too. I won't get the boy doll I want if I can't get the dollstown boy body for him.. there's just no other 60cm boy bodies I like.

It seems to have been posted on the 2nd of june... although I hope koreans use australian style dates and it was actually the 6th of february ^^

There was *just* an inquiry on the Dollstown site, and NEW photgraphs of Hue are promised this weekend, with the prototype doll now expected in a few months... so we will see...

 

Really? This weekend? iI'll keep an eye out and cross my fingers. :S.

I too have been waiting for the release of this boy, mostly because I am curious. From the black and white pictures Dollstown provided, he looks like a male version of Estella. I probably would have pined for him if I didn't already have an Estella boy teehee.^^

 

I don't think they have plans to release in white skin. Only normal skin and maybe in a 'darker' normal, as they feel white and pinky white are too delicate for such a masculine boy.

 

Hue was supposed to be finished a few weeks back, but the company that is actually doing the reproduction is really jerking around Dollstown. So they have no idea when its going to actually be finished.

 

Does anyone know what resin will match with Dollstown? I really want that boy body!

 

One thing about Dollstown I've noticed (I have a Seola) is the texture of the resin is unlike any other I have seen (it's reallllly hard to paint on- the paint beads up on it and you have to keep doing layers). Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my doll, but the resin is different. It's almost like it's super smooth and glassy.

I believe that is only refering to when they get the inhouse resin reproduction set up in 3 to 6 months time. It means you'll basically be able to request any body and any head in the three skin tones and it'll take a mouth to produce.

What does everyone think of him?? His body is beautifully sculpted, in my opinion. I am soooo gonna get me one of those!

 

Haha, I didn't want to comment on the wig but I agree with you completely. I would love some bald pics.

I asked about the teeth plates, he comes with one option (upper teeth & tongue), and I believe it is removable just like estella's.

I think Dollstown dolls have that fishy look when pictures are taken from below, but from other angles they look ok. You've just gotta avoid those up-the-nose shots.

I'm sure more pictures are to come!

 

The more I look at this one, the more I like him.

The body sculpt pleases me greatly, although the butt is almost too perfect. I love the vertebrae.

I'm a little iffy on the teeth, and there is something a little funny to my eyes about the wideness of his mouth, but he looks like such a wonderful strung-out problem child that I want to take him home immediately.

I have a freind who made Estrella into a boy, he's quite lovely... And they do loook alike. I don't know if it's the makeup but he look like he's been partying too much ^^;; Probably the make up. I wanted to rip that wig off too... Maybe another wig would be in order?... I love the body, very nice scult and he;s got a nice little b... ::AHEM:: he's noce sculpt.

I hope they make another head mold that boy body should be exploited more =9 Is it hard to order from them?

 

Anybody wanna split an order? I REALLY REALLY don't want the Hue head but it looks like its the only way to get the body.

 

Holy crap, he is incredible. This is by far the most beautiful and realistic looking doll I've ever seen... and his expression is perfectly haunting.

I only wish he was just a bit smaller. Then I could make him Karl's new, more mature shell.

 

You know, to be honest - that adorable Estella boy was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw Hue!!!

And the second thing was, since I already have a lovely Estella here: Wouldn't it be great if another headmold was to follow Hue upon that delicious body???

I know there was talk of a second boy head created by An Jong Hak simultaneously, but he said something about only one of them being reproduced for the body...

 

Aww, really? I was waiting out in hopes the 2nd head might have a closed mouth, cause I'm not a huge fan of Hue's teeth. Surely the 2nd boy head would be for the body as well...it would be weird if it wasn't...

 

Hmmm...yeah, the mouth isn't really my thing....it looks like he may start drooling a bit. Plus his ankles are shaped kinda big...like the transition from his leg to his foot is off...but I do like the body! Dang though, I wish his mouth was closed....

 

The face sculpt looks like Estella, doesn't it? Looks like a younger than age 15 face...but that could just be the lighting or the face-up. I'm always amazed by how much the age on the Dollstown dolls can be changed with face-up, I have a very mature-looking Bandi.

 

Haha, I've asked too many questions lately on the board, but if someone else asked if there will be a closed-mouth boy head that would be awesome.

I agree about the mouth, though. I like Dollstown's style, but in this case I'd prefer the mouth be at least a little more closed.

I honestly like both heads. I'm leaning more to the open mouth. The closed mouth's bottom lip looks a bit too big in proportion to the uper lip but then again I could change my mind once I see owners pics.

 

I agree ArcanMuse, after seeing the closed-mouth option I like the open mouth head better (but with closed teeth). If the lips weren't so big I would probably think differently...oh well! And after the horrible experience of trying to sand down my Lishe's lips to make them smaller...I'm never doing that again to a doll ever

 

Hmmmm I waited so long for this guy! I really like the open mouth Hue but I have Estella a did not plan on having a "twin" brother for her! So I have ordered a Mui. I will plan the face-up for him? Could be very interesting?

I can't believe this, I ordered a Hue! I managed to get him with the closed-teeth option, I think that looks slightly better...less drooly, haha.

I agree the ankles are big, but, don't people put shoes on their boys? Surely shoes will cover them. Unless people have like an ankle fetish and the ankles must be bare at ALL TIMES. Haha

...I'm not ranting I just don't think it's something to worry about.
