Dollshe Discussion - Part Ten

Oct 11, 2016

    1. I have to wonder if production is a little more on-schedule during certain times of the year over others, or is it always rather erratic? Also, are certain ones (like the 28m, for example) being faster produced over the others, or has it been the same across the board?

I received my Aramis head yesterday, just a couple days after the doll leaves order I placed around October. So....just over three months? I wasn't expecting to see it until at least February at the rate everything is currently being processed.

I know this doesn't help much, but I do hope those long delayed orders get finished and sent out to you guys soon:hug:

    2. Completed sculpts are more likely to be delivered within the expected three month period (although there is no guarantee). It's the new sculpts that are take a year. It seems that Mr Kim makes a prototype, opens sales, then looks at it again in six months time and tits about with it. I am assuming that, for Arsene, it is the additional hands that have held it up again. The Curse of Perfectionism...

    3. I am reminded of the old skeptical saying: "Take it with a pinch of salt". In this case it is more like the salt flats.

Arsene: 3 days to the 1 year mark.

    5. xD Or the caption could be "Change......No he can't".

And the personal motto for everyone waiting for a Dollshe doll are like the lyrics to the Steve Miller song Fly Like an Eagle, "Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin', into the future."

    6. Even if I got the shipping notice today, it would still be over a year before I got Arsene; so yes this is needed.

      Good one @Cloudedmind :XD:

    7. @MadamMauMau - I know it was the new hands released with Corey that held up my Grant, so that's likely it.

@SteamWitch - Perhaps a slice of lemon and a shot of tequila? ;)

    8. Yes! but make that two shots. :abambi:

    9. Wu-Tyr (Orijean) is one big step closer to being complete! I bought him his body today from Miro Doll. I opted to buy the body they had on clearance as it was the right size and colour for my needs. He has a small bubble on one knee, but Miro said they'd fix that before shipping him out. I'm pretty stoked for this as I've had Wu-Tyr's head since Dollshe did the stock clearance sale a few years back when he discontinued pretty much all his boys and getting his body was the piece I needed to bring him all together. Hopefully, Miro won't take too long to fix the bubble and ship him out to me.

    10. It's always a good feeling to get a floating a body finally. I myself am waiting on an Akagi 66cm body for the Dollshe Aramis head I just received. You'll have to post photos when he's complete:kitty2

    11. Tell me about it. Just a few months ago I finally managed to get the exact body I needed for a floating head I've had for 8 years. I just hope that I don't need to have stuff blushed to match. I've heard that the Miro NS is very close to the Oriental skin of Dollshe.

    12. Is this passive/aggressive? :whee::thumbup
One year ago I ordered Arsene. It is 1/11/17 in Seoul. :wantshipping: :...(
      [IMG]
I guess it is since I posted it twice,

    13. That is just brutal for wait times. Those of you waiting... you have the patience of saints. I am so very glad that I didn't have to endure that to get my head.

    14. @SteamWitch Congrats on gaining membership! I missed it by a few days last time and hopefully will again this time (I ordered Feb, I think) so I salute all those who achieved entry to the (increasingly less exclusive) club.

    15. I know there are Arsene heads out there and have been for a few months, but I can't find any with faceups. Why?

    16. It is good question!

    17. The patience of saints...speaking of Saints. I really want to see what the Grown Saint looks like. Gah.

    18. It should be interesting, I've ordered 2 dolls from Dollshe and 2 from Dollstown . I ordered and paid them off within days of each other...which shall come first? I'll be able to make a direct comparison of quality. I also plan to compare them to my older DS & DT dolls for reference. Now to wait... *sigh*

    19. Me too, *groan, sigh, nervous twitch*

    20. I had a laugh when someone on another thread complained about the 5 month eternal wait for their new doll. Waiting? You know nothing of waiting!:crushed

    21. :dohI am at the point I have to look on the list as I don't remember all the Dollshes I am waiting for now.

    22. Hello guys sorry to but in out of nowhere, I'm trying to use the coupon for the lateness of my order on a Bermann head, but when I try to checkout it doesn't work. I'd just wait for them to respond on the QA but it's been a while.
If anyone that used it can enlighten me I'd be very thankful

    23. I used the one they issued to me when I ordered King Corey, and had the same issues as you. I ended up emailing them about the issue, and it was resolved shortly after they responded. They have been having some major issues with the coupons working on their website. Some are really buggy, and they have to set up the proper one for you.

Hope you're able to get it to work!:)

    24. Thanks Jade, but yeah not this once
Lmaooo he just answered my question saying it should be fixed but it still doesn't work
Dollshe how is your website supposed to work if the checkout does these crazy things?
Hopefully they nail it down the next time
Then I can put the order and forget about it and my Aramis
I called it when I predicted it'd be the Pure body event all over again, but it's still kind of sad to know people will wait over a year

    25. So, uh... I wasn't going to order anything soon, but I happened to trade with a local collector. It was a quick shot and now my Amanda is waiting for me to come home from the office ^^ In ~4 hours she will be in my hands, I'm excited to meet her ^^

*she's my early B-day present, that's the second Dollshe doll that arrives a few days from my day, previously a few years back, Orijean was only one day late :D

    26. @Dedra congratulations on your new girl ^^ I will never stop gushing about the Amanda sculpt, and can never see enough of other members photos :D

I took my girl out today for a photoshoot in the cold, wasn't really successful, but at least I got one picture that showed the details in her faceup. She's just so gorgeous to me even though my family seem to prefer my "cuter" dolls xD

    27. She is lovely @Rivon ! Gives my the "Amanda" bug again...

    28. @Rivon - Oh wow, her face up really is pretty! :D

    29. Wu-Tyr, my Dollshe boy (Orijean) is very close to coming together! Miro shipped his body last week and it's supposed to be home sometime this coming week. Hopefully, Canada Customs ignores him and lets him sail on through without so much as an eye twitch (or Custom fees *crosses fingers*). I did buy him new eyes and they're not here yet so any pics I take in the immediate future will have the wrong eyes in his head *grumbles*. And he'll need a face up. And his arms/hands dyed. But he'll finally be more than just a floating head. Very excited about that.

    30. That is pretty exciting @Iron_Dog. It's always nice when a doll starts coming together. :)

    31. @Rivon Your Amanda looks like a wonderful character.
@Iron_Dog I can't wait for your Orijean. I didn't know how much I liked the sculpt until I had one in my hand, now I have three faceplates, two pale tan and one pale.

A little Song spam while I continue my wait for Arsene.

    32. I've had his head for about 2 years now so I'm pretty excited to finally be able to bring all his assorted parts together and complete him.

    33. Has anyone got a notice yet on the Arsene shipments? I was told mine would ship in Jan. but we all know how that goes. I am 12 days away from the year wait and this would be a second doll (third actually) I have waited over a year for as the children took over a year also.:sorry

    34. Nothing on Arsene. I did receive a very long and detailed email in response to the note I sent to DollShe (synopsized a few pages back). DollShe was basically saying what has been said so often before. In future, we will finish dolls before we put them up for sale (yadda yadda). We will be better about being timely (yadda yadda). We do not want to alienate our loyal customers.

    35. Sadly, he has already alienated this customer.

    36. I know I'm not planning on ordering through him again after all of this nonsense, and I only tossed my hat into the Arsene insanity six months ago.

    37. I think waiting six months for dolls that are already done and they have the molds for is a little excessive too, especially when the wait time keeps getting pushed back. I can only hope he keeps his promise about the February shipping for all the 18m. I considered using my coupon on a Michael Bowie, but I want out of this madness. No way am I going to go deeper into it. I think I'll stick to the companies that can ship in 3-4 months. Dollshe has some amazing sculpts, and maybe some day, I'll see a Michael Bowie in the marketplace and grab him there, but I won't wait a year for him.

    38. Wu-Tyr's Miro body came in today! He's officially no longer a floating head!

He doesn't have his proper eyes in his head (although he does have 2 different coloured eyes, one gold, one silver) and he obviously needs a face up (those cheekbones!) but that is his proper wig. The match between Dollshe oriental (about 2 years old) and the Miro NS (about 1 year old) is quite good (say... 97%) and in my very inexpert opinion, within very easy blushing range. He's got surprisingly good range of head motion and I think the head looks good on this body (it's the 60cm one) likely mostly due to the breadth of the shoulders/chest.

I have work to do/be done on him yet, I have to see what needs to be done to get the Soom forearms to work with the Miro elbow and his arms need to be dyed blue. He also needs to be re-strung/tightened as he's pretty floppsie right now. But I'm super excited that I finally have him as a full doll.

    39. Congratulations @Iron_Dog I think the Dollshe heads go very well with the Mirodoll bodies. They are very floppy when you get them lol.

    40. @SteamWitch I think it was you that had posted a pic about the Dollshe head on Miro body and the decent resin match between them, which made me confident enough to go for it for my guy.

I have to re-string him (or at least his arms) just because I'm going to be swapping out his lower arms for Soom ones and he'll have Dollmore dollpire hands (so I won't have to deal with the wonky oval wrist joints). I think his loosey-goosey legs can be fixed with just tightening of his elastic.

    41. He looks great on that body @Iron_Dog! It must be great to have him together like this. :)

    42. I'm really happy with him. I'd totally bring him in to work today, but we're supposed to get freezing rain this afternoon and I don't want to be walking in that (I walk to work) with a couple of pounds of resin. That's almost like asking for something to happen.

    43. @Iron_Dog I'm so jealous! I love Orijean. What size eyes are you using for him?

    44. Ooh no, that would not be a good idea.
